So I'd need a better example of why this is bad, rather than how debates work. Here is a more straight forward one: Say that, we make a claim, "If you take an item from a store without paying for it, that has a price on it, you are stealing it.". Now, that statement sounds entirely reasonable, but if you put in the crockpot, you can make a ton of unreasonable claims, connect them together, concoct theories based on them, and end up at a consensus that stealing is never wrong. such as "A person n…

This post, is meant for discussing the impact of believability, such as that used in court and jurisdiction, which is why I brought up reasonable doubt. are true. The whole point of this is that, you may believe they are true, for some reason, but any of those things, can go into a mental crockpot, and be torn down, into something sounding totally crazy and unbelievable. I remember lurking a few months back, there was a post here about a woman found dead after a night partying in Manhattan, wher…

Because they believe in a truth from blanket statements. There is no hypocrisy here. The BP is a hypocrisy because it condemns others who make blanket statements, but condones blanket statements about things don't like.

Yes, I primarily say this because my younger brother got bullied by fraternity brothers about how he never had a girlfriend.

Indeed, but I think these college kids going around and having sex so loosely in parties and such plays a role in it.

Late virginity is not embarrassing. Way to generalize. We don't know what it's like to be men sweetheart.

There is no universal bad. There is bad for some people, good for other people. Sexism only hurts those who it hurts.

I think the issue your highlighting is that, lots of people nowadays believe in a "universal good", as in a way of being that benefits all people. People ascribe to this mantra, and use it to guide their decisions and beliefs. The issue with this though, is that, no such thing as a universal good exists. All actions we take, have some good or bettering for some, and some bad or worsening for others. For example, one could say that a specific company, having 80% men and 20% women working there is…

Maybe I am confused here than, are you(specific you or the blue pill) against the idea of generalizing people, or are you against the idea of making practically impossible statistical claims, such as claiming one trait for all 3.5 billion of a gender?

A group of people on the internet who share a common ideology, talk to eachother about this ideology, Are all people who observe a particular religion all sharing the same ideology? All Jews do not share the same ideology on the existence of heaven, yet the ascribe to the Jewish religion. Do all artists who share the same ideology of painting(for example, Impressionists), share the same thoughts and views on every painting they make? No. I am point this out not because I side with terpers, but b…

What do numbers really matter though? Would it be fair to make a general statement about Amish people, even though there are only a couple thousand of them? That, and as I said in a previous thread, it's easy to pinpoint crazy beliefs when they feel it's a good idea to make the ones with the most fucked up beliefs But see, how does one determine what is fucked up enough to make a blanket statement about? One could say that, all Islamic terrorists are evil, but at the same time, it's equally fair…

The blue pill has, from my observation a very tight moral agenda about genders and dating, and so any advice that crosses that agenda would not be supported.

implying that all women lie about their partner-count when asked. Read the statement again carefully. if a woman feels that telling others about her sexual past will make them view her in a light she does not want to be viewed in, she will not tell the truth. No where here did I saw all women lie about their partner count when asked. I said, IF a woman feels that she will be judged harshly or shamed for sharing information about her sexual past, she will lie about it. The BP thinks slut-shaming …

Ill give you a specific example of what bothers me about what your saying. Say that, someone wants to open a lingerie store, one that sells exclusively to women. They need to research about the lingerie trends and patterns that are relevant to women. Technically, since both men and women wear underwear or under clothing of some kind, according to you, that person should research the underwear sales patterns for men, just because all people wear under wear. People have the freedom of choice. You …

No, because we aren't playing a blame game here. We are investigating knowledge important to what we feel is important. For example, if you were using the google search engine, and looking for "good christmas gifts for moms", would you be annoyed if the search engine gave you a ton of results for the good christmas gifts for dads as well?

You misunderstand the concept. There is no blaming going on here. We are investigating issues about behavior. If one is interested in a behavior in a particular gender, than that's what is interesting to them. Period. If something is inaccurate for a gender it's in accurate for all people. We have no responsibility to be accurate to satisfy all peoples feelings and thoughts. We are talking about instances and possibilities that a gender could incur or produce.

Lol. No, it's not just like any other business. This isn't like buying a fucking car, that you could choose to go without. You need us every bit as much as we need you. Otherwise, we go broke and you just die. We may need a doctor, but we most certainly do not need a specific doctor. If you don't provide quality care we go elsewhere. Ever heard of telemedicine?

For anything purely sexual it would need to be as close to perfection as possible. For a long term commitment, it doesn't have to be close to perfection, but the more closer it is, the happier I would be. Now, it's important to note that perfection is a feeling, not a material quality. It's a feeling that I have a man that I like everything about and I don't think him improving would make any difference. The standards of perfection are different for every woman.

Well women most desire perfection in men. Why wouldn't we? Just the same way when you go to a baseball game, you really want your favorite player to hit a home run, not a single or double.

Different women are attracted to different things. Skinny guys get laid too. Just because a young man who is skinny gets laid doesn't give any information on the frequency or who it is with. Do you think most skinny guys get laid? Like 80%? I have only been attracted to men with a good build and at least some muscle. I think it's gross for a man to not even have good shoulders on him.

You are comparing a system that's broken with one that works. It doesn't work for you, but it works for the patients. system of reviews that relies on hearsay and gossip for rating people who are highly skilled. Being highly skilled doesn't absolve you from treating people poorly.

You aren't adequate to the task, neither is the methodology. You are arguing against a conflict of interest. By you, saying, one should not read Yelp reviews for doctors, are receiving a self benefit from that, by not exposing yourself to critique from patients. Therefore your opinion is invalid. It's no different than a bank saying they give great loan service. They don't have any reason to say they don't have good loan service, therefore it's a biased and invalid opinion. Patients aren't alway…

TRP has no more of a confirmation bias than TBP. If TRP looks for particular women to prove their point, TBP looks for women who fit their idea of what all women are, and ignores the cases TRP brings up. It's incredibly easy for a human mind to rationalize away things we don't want to admit to being true.

Do you know what people do in clubs? Why do you think going to music festivals and clubs is totally unrelated to a woman getting loose with a lot of men? I have slept with a guy I met at a club before.

After reading some threads on this sub, I do think people don't understand the implications of a woman being totally honest about the number of men she has been with out in public or amongst her peers. This is especially true when people are younger. The times that some of my friends in college mentioned that they had slept with a guy they met at a party, or any sort of sexual interaction outside of commitment, they would receive a lot of overt, unwanted attention from guys they were NOT into. W…

Why do you think the number of people your partner has been with matters? Simple. If one wants a monogamous long term relationship, the partner with the best history of other, good, monogamous, longterm relationships, would be the best fit. Having many, short term, or one night, sexual partners does not use skills that you need in a long term relationship. reading a doctor's review on YELP which is designed to rate fucking restaurants is fucking moronic. So if I read a surgeon's reviews saying h…

Fair enough. I just think any movement that defines itself by "fighting for equality" needs to be looked over very carefully. It's a double edged sword. Both Stalin and Gandhi fought for equality, yet they are the night and day of good and evil.

Well, men with high partner counts, and when I am mean high as in around 30 or more, are very attractive. There is something alluring about very sexy, attractive men. I think it's more the case, at least when I was younger, that women would just flock to a particular handsome young man. I mean, bloody hell, if a man is surrounded by beautiful women, would you blame him for indulging? Now to why men aren't called out on it, is simple. Most guys who have fooled around with lots of girls fall into …

is not capable of providing a good LTR. Again, no one is saying the capability is deleted entirely. I mean, there have been people who were horrible in school, but became very succesful(like Steve Jobs having a 2.6 or so GPA in high school). But that does not mean a woman's number of men she has been intimate with is a neutral statistic. A woman could, if she wanted to, work toward becoming a monogamous woman. But that is less believable based on one's past. You are doing exactly what I describe…

They also often make claims that a girl who's been with a lot of partners is inherently damaged and not capable of providing the TRP'ers with a good LTR. Well anyone can make a good LTR, but not everything you do gives you credibility for that. It reminds me of this young man I interviewed last week for hiring. When I asked him about his low GPA on his resume, he simply said that he didn't think performing poorly academically would affect his potential on the job. Can you believe that?
