I'm sorry, but that's absolute nonsense. I am a physically disabled woman with a severe neuromuscular and spondyloarthritic condition that makes my spine shaped like a question mark. I use mobility equipment at the age of 33. I am in constant pain from growing additional bones in my body. I cannot walk normally, stand normally, use my arms normally. I cannot turn my neck. I have to have both hips and knees replaced in my mid-30s, with no chance of ever using my body normally. I cannot engage in …

The one man I interact with consistently is not stressful. I do not have reason to interact with other men (outside of day-to-day professional exchanges). Since men are largely a non-factor in my life, they are not stressful. I am not attractive, and thus I do not attract men. I expend no time or effort on this matter, and therefore it is not stressful.

You have to see the blatant hypocrisy of what you are writing here. You are intelligent - let's break this down. You say that women ought to get stronger so they can overlook the comments that are made about them. Women should not get upset when they are judged. Women should listen to the opposing opinions of strangers and weigh those opinions against their own beliefs, in the hope that they might become more enlightened or gain some more insight. That's great. That's a solid take. But then you …
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 03:41 PM

So judgment and criticism only have a societal consequence on men? That is the thesis you're working with here?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 03:33 PM

He's a recovering drug addict. I'd have to push my limits real hard to let him down.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 03:26 PM

I don't see where you are engaging with the full content of my reply. Did you have any thoughts or opinions on it?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 03:25 PM

Based on your history here, you never seem to do much reflection on opposing thoughts or opinions yourself. People are always somewhat hypocritical about such things, though. And I don't think it should come as a shock that many people across both genders struggle to separate their identity from the perception of others. That is a very common experience - even if you have not lived it yourself, I am sure you have seen it - so I do not understand why it would "amaze" you.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 03:18 PM

Probably not rich, but you can find somebody who will help you build a happy life. I personally wouldn't have any hesitation about the "virgin" part, and I know there are other women who feel the same way. The financial situation would be dependent on the kind of lifestyle the man was willing to lead - I don't have excellent earning potential myself, and while I wouldn't mind a relationship with a man who didn't make much, I would expect him to be comfortable with a very modest lifestyle/respons…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 03:03 PM

Maybe, but again, it's not something I've experienced. I've approached traditionally "undesirable" men (I found them perfectly attractive and desirable) and I've been shot down by them. That's only anecdotal, but I know others have experienced it. So I think the comment you are responding to was accurate - there are women who are willing to date such men, but the women themselves are undesirable, and so the men would rather be alone at the end of the day.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 02:56 PM

Hey now, people from trailer parks tend to be far more tolerable than middle class suburban WASP types.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 02:51 PM

I never understand that illustration. As an unattractive woman who has never had a man approach/never rejected a man/etc., it is the opposite of my experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 02:49 PM

It's a 1 for me. I have one male friend I talk with consistently, otherwise I don't really deal with men regularly. I certainly don't attract them at all, so that's very low stress.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 02:14 PM

I think the male equivalent (at least on here) is that they simply stop responding to you. It might be the equivalent in real life as well. Both are rather frustrating approaches. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen people here say "you know what, that's a good point, I will have to reconsider my perspective."
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/23 02:02 PM

I don't understand how anyone can hang out with boring people. Why not find someone interesting to fuck so you can also enjoy the conversations?

At this point, I just really hope I can get married to someone before all of civilization collapses. That's my only goal.

I do have a low libido, but we were also both virgins, so I wasn't going to push it regardless. I figured he'd get comfortable enough to try eventually, but it never happened.

My ex had terabytes of puffy coat bondage fetish content saved. I don't know if he was necessarily porn sick/porn addicted, but he always wanted me to watch with him. If I didn't do it, he'd get upset about me supposedly not understanding his sexuality. He also had aspirations of creating such content himself. I tried really hard to get into it, but I never really understood it. We were together for several years and never actually had sex (he didn't ever want to). He just wanted us to watch the…

Who am I supposed to complain to? Myself? I'm the one making the fuckin mess Edit: wait did you mean "single" as in "not in a relationship," or "single" as in "I've never seen anybody whatsoever complain"

In general, I have always thought it was strange to have a preference about what someone else does with their life, assuming they aren't hurting anyone else. But I don't think my sentiment is necessarily a popular one.

My last vacation was a trip to visit our state aquarium
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 02:12 AM

I hope to god OF doesn't last 5-10 more years. I have never been so sick of hearing about a website in my life.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 12:37 AM

I can't imagine talking to a man like that. Or anyone, really. But good for her if it works, I guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 12:33 AM

Is that how people flirt? She sounds insane.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 12:29 AM

I mean, it is very much immoral to let a child starve. Regardless of how you feel about abortion, contraception, child support, etc. - I don't see any way to swing "starving a child is a perfectly moral choice."
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 12:26 AM

I understand. As a woman who likes gaming (tabletop and otherwise), that always makes me a little sad. It's one of the main hobbies that gets me interested in a guy, but they always seem somewhat reluctant to share much about it when we first start talking. I hope you won't let go of it entirely as a hobby, even if you decide to look for women elsewhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 12:19 AM

Grind/hustle culture has done similar things to men. Everyone seems to be in pursuit of hollow status symbols now.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 11:32 PM

What are your current hobbies? I imagine you could work to foster connections through them and meet someone without having to give them up.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 10:56 PM

I don't see why you'd have to abandon your current hobbies.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 10:49 PM

From the sound of it, I'm hardly missing out on anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 09:38 PM

I thought families have already been suffering economically. It's news to me that they haven't been.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 09:29 PM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 09:20 PM

33, female.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 09:20 PM

No. I usually forget masturbation is a thing until I get my quarterly surge of hormones, or whatever it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 09:20 PM

Are people really horny as often as they make it seem? Asking as somebody who gets aroused approximately once every 2-3 months.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 09:13 PM

Perhaps you have a more optimistic take on someone saying "I will not date a woman who does not check all of my boxes," but based on my experience with men here, their boxes tend to be incredibly narrow and unrealistic. Again, I think they are doing themselves a disservice by failing to acknowledge the complex humanity of the women they wish to pursue - if a woman does not meet their particular standards for body fat percentage, or family background, or age, or n-count, etc., but is otherwise a …
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 06:32 PM

I have to admit I have lost the plot of this particular discussion. My comment was about individuals (primarily men in this sub) who seem to have incredibly unrealistic standards of perfection for the people they date. And you seem to disagree that these standards of perfection are unrealistic - which is fine, of course. But then you agree that humans are inherently imperfect? Maybe it's my autism showing, but I can't quite pin down what you are trying to say regarding my initial comment about p…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 06:27 PM

I suppose my view is that finding a truly perfect woman or perfect man is an unattainable and futile task that will not lead to happiness or a sustainable relationship. But I might be wrong. I apologize.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 06:21 PM

People who do not describe themselves (or even others) as needing to grow or improve ought to do a great deal more self-reflection, in my opinion. Humans are inherently flawed. That is not a failing, but there is always room for everyone to be kinder, to be wiser, to exhibit more empathy and compassion. There is always room to learn more, to try harder, to do better. No one is living as perfectly as they ought to, because such a thing is impossible.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 06:15 PM

This was largely inspired by a comment a man made earlier indicating that he would not marry a woman who failed to check all of his boxes. It is a sentiment I have seen expressed fairly regularly here, and it is one I do not entirely understand - it seems unrealistic, and also like it fails to account for your partner as a living, breathing, changing human. So when I say "perfection," I know everyone has their own threshold for such a thing. But it is always very shocking to me that people expre…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 06:12 PM

Right, but my comment is about people who are hellbent on seeking an unrealistically "perfect" partner, not simply a functional adult.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 06:05 PM

I would extend that to all outside social media in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 04:54 PM

There was a comment from a man earlier about how he expects a woman to check every one of his boxes. It's a sentiment I see expressed frequently here. Unless I am misinterpreting their comments or something?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 04:47 PM

If anything less than perfection is a "project" to you, that's a little sad.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 04:33 PM

I disagree. People in Appalachia tend to be very deeply rooted in their communities, and tend to live with family well into adulthood. There is also a lot of disdain for areas like Miami/LA, even just in casual conversation - leaving is a sort of "betrayal" and is talked about as something unfortunate. Add in the fact that it is still a particularly religious part of the country...the porn argument doesn't hold up, at least from what I see living here. It is a sociological pocket, of course, but…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 04:04 PM

You either make it better or you make it worse. It's up to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 03:54 PM

It is likely a thing within certain demographics. But take a trip to rural Appalachia and your results on hypergamy will look very different.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 03:53 PM

People who argue that they will not accept less than perfection from the individual they date are doing themselves a disservice. I am sorry if you disagree. But I am also not sure where my comment advocates dating someone with glaring incompatibilities.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 03:49 PM

If you want to interpret my sentiment as "date people who are bad for you," you are free to do that. But my point is that men having slavish adherence to "finding a woman who checks all their boxes" are completely missing the point of marriage, are dismissive of the inherent complexity of human nature, and will likely be left very disappointed in their pursuits.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 03:44 PM

I am not sure that will make the world a better place.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 03:32 PM

Find better women, if you are having that problem. You should seek someone who wants to grow the way you do. It is not so impossible if you prioritize values over attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 03:25 PM

Why are some men such fans of anecdotal evidence? It strikes me as largely illogical and empirically worthless.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 03:23 PM

How can you say those things are important to women if you have no explanation for them?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 03:11 PM

Why do people want a perfect partner? The point of marriage is to embrace the complex mess that makes up a human, willingly tackle the challenge presented by that humanity, recognize your own mess reflected in your partner, grow to be better alongside one another, etc. Why would you seek impossible perfection instead of working through the challenges? It feels like a kind of defense mechanism.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/23 03:08 PM

I don't understand your biological programming argument. What is the supposed evolutionary/biological benefit of experiencing drama?

Sometimes I wish I could have an arranged marriage. I know it's a mixed bag and they can be awful, but it seems like it would make things so much simpler.

The issue with this question is that I would be inherently incompatible with a man who was seeking an Eastern/foreign woman. That decision in and of itself proves that we have drastically different values - the man in question is presumably willing to relocate to foreign countries indicating he is not particularly rooted in his current community, is likely not concerned about sharing the religious beliefs or cultural values of his wife, is not worried about general cultural compatibility within …

One very interesting gender assumption I face as a woman is everyone assuming my 8 year relationship ended because I called things off with him. In reality, he dumped me because I got very sick and he was unable to deal with that pressure. It's awkward to have to correct people and explain that, and they always seem very surprised.
