Thank you for your suggestions. However, I will stand by my original stance and insist that I DO love him, otherwise I wouldn't be here trying to figure out how I can support him.

With respect, what does that really matter?

He has been taking classes at a community college and will graduate with an Associate's in May. It's not a BS, but it doesn't mean nearly 3.5 more years of school.

This is actually very helpful. Thank you!

While I understand why you may have made some of the points you did, you ignored some of the other points, such as the basic fact that I do have respect for this man and could have easily chosen not to support him had I not wanted to. I came here for help as to how I can act to help him during this time and how I can be a better woman for him. I'm aware of my own flaws in this and I seek to correct them, so I find this comment particularly unhelpful.

He so deserves it! I really do look up to him!

The problem is not with him. His circumstances are beyond his control for the moment, save for his deferring to me for some choices.

I appreciate this response very much. I just struggle with a natural tendency to be selfish.

I know how much he hates it and how much it hurts his pride. He has more traditional views on relationships (as do I) and I hate to see him like this, even though he tried to act like it doesn't affect him. As for leaving him...I don't believe that is an option. I love him and am committed to supporting him through school. My main area of concern is maintaining my level of attraction through what I believe will be a temporary period of me being the breadwinner.

Right...that could play a part. But is there any advice?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
