I chose nursing over medicine because nursing allows for flexibility, in terms of being able to pursue interests, hobbies and side business (which I can live comfortably off of). While also having a job with high security, opportunities and great pay- more than enough pay to fund my minimalist lifestyle. 1	Financial Advice for a Young Dude. How should I set myself up for success? Because Nursing has excellent job prospects with potential for great pay. Very similar to medicine in that respect. You do know that Engineering isn't the only worthwhile degree... Right? If anything healthcare in general is very wise. Oh and by the way, anyone can grasp maths, just takes some time, effort and will. The brain has the capacity to learn anything... 5	How come men are able to be happy with very little? Indeed. Majority of consumer spending is done by women, either directly or indirectly. I'm sure a man would be perfectly content with living in his Mum's basement playing video games and working 20 hours a week. 7	Future career options Med School is a whole different beast. You need dedication, by dedication I mean DEDICATION. I'm currently doing a degree in Nursing, and the career prospects are amazing for nursing. You can then advance onto a nurse practitioner course, earning 100k - 160k with experience.
