For me, the massive majority of the bodybuilding community accepting bulking as the best method for putting on muscle is proof enough. I don't have the time or interest to search for scientific studies on the subject. I imagine /r/fitness would be a good place for you to search for legitimate studies. You put on muscle faster if you bulk. Thats why you cut after the bulking process. Cut the fat, keep the muscle. You can put on lean muscle without the fat but it takes a lot longer.

There's no excuse to not being able to do three if you're in shape and have practiced them for a few months. On the marine test, even if you pass each event with the minimums it won't total up to a passing score. As reference, I can max the army PT test (77pushup/2min; 82situp/2min; and 13 minute 2 mile) but when I went to the Marine MWTC, I only did 12 pull ups because I don't train them. 20 is max. They are also very strict on form and locking your arms out each rep.

Pullups are something you have to train for to be good at. Skinny is a huge advantage when it comes to being able to do pull ups without working towards getting good at them. Females that don't actively work towards improving will suck at them.

Not to mention there are body types that tend to work better for acrobats. The short skinny guy that maxes his pull-ups is one thing. When you're 6'0 and a muscular 185+lbs, 20 pull-ups is an entirely different hurdle.

I didn't say most belief systems are built on contradictions. If you disagree with someone's belief system, it isn't difficult to manufacture a facade of inconsistency and contradiction. My beliefs are the same as yours. I am pro-choice and oppose the death penalty (not vehemently, but if it were up to me I would say that it shouldn't be a punishment). A conspiracy theory is when an authority on a subject says "X," and a layman says "no, X is wrong, the real answer is Y" without any falsifiable evidence. I must just be much more hesitant to throw out the "Conspiracy Theory" label. In the post you linked, he followed up that paragraph by immediately explaining he didn't think that the science that had been done on the subject had been structured or framed correctly. I haven't seen that specific claim on TRP, but perhaps you can link me? Even as it stands, that doesn't sound like a conspiracy theory to me at all. If I were to claim that religious fundamentalism holds back mainstream science, would you say that it was a conspiracy theory?

I don't see how contradictory beliefs are a hallmark of conspiracy theories. You can come up with contradictory aspects of most belief systems and ideals if you dig enough. Republicans that are Pro-Life but support the Death Penalty. Democrats who are Pro-Choice but oppose the Death Penalty. Both of these appear to be completely contradictory in terms of the value of life on the surface. That doesn't mean that the beliefs are conspiracy theorist havens and should be dismissed as such.

This isn't a reality that is limited to conspiracy theorists. You can apply the quoted text to any issue in society that is divisive and it likely has merit on both sides of the issue. Exchange TRP with "Atheism" when referring to the knee-jerk reactions of certain religious groups who judge and project without learning what atheism does or doesn't believe. Put in "Conservative Political Principles" when referring to certain liberal groups who may tend to do the same thing. Even flip the script …
