7	Why are men in TV programmes and adverts always such fools? From supermarkets to home insurance, from booze to cleaning products, the theme is the same: men are stupid. As hilarious as it sounds, I've heard it described as "Everybody loves Raymond syndrome". If you remember in the show, which was very successful, the main character; Ray, and his brother were depicted as a very nice but foolish. Ray's wife and mother were both depicted as intelligent but somewhat mean. Given the success of the show and the shows which came before it, these character types have been recreated over and over for other sitcoms. 7	Peculiar subway ad [x-post r/nyc] Not to rustle any jimmies but unfortunately this is a big problem with teenagers. Once having a child stops being "fun" teenage fathers (and mothers) quickly lose interest and re-focus on their own lives, Erikson's identity vs. role confusion stage of development seems to explain this pretty well. 5	The whole "REAL MEN DON'T ___" thing I agree with what you're saying. In the future I would advise against using the term "idiot" or similar insults in your argument as it puts people on the defensive.
