Ok thanks. 'Motion is lotion' - I like it! I searched those and you mean Romanian Dead Lifts & Straight Leg Dead Lifts? I will check those out as I haven't tried them before. The tightness is lower back and just above glutes. The gym I go to has some large plates for deadlift etc that bring the bar higher off the ground which should help me. Maybe that is a standard thing though. I have been watching some of those form videos on SL5x5 and other lifting Reddits. I will do make one. Interesting th…

Thanks. The more activity I do the more I realise my back and core kind of throw everything off. My squats are a bit wobbly so form is definitely in need of work. With the stronglifts program you add weight or attempt to each time but I think I started too high.

Thanks. First, you need to start STFUing more. You cannot negotiate desire, so stop trying to do that. You still need work on your frame. I keep doing BP shit but telling myself it is RP. Going back to old habits and ways of thinking. And finally, you are thinking that you want to put her hamster in the maze so that you can get sex, but you aren't even at that point yet. Yes, I jumped ahead. I realised that I am the one hamstering while my wife looks on and sees crazy with no consistency. One mi…

She is correct ... because you have no frame, no vision for your life and your relationship with her as part of that, and no leadership toward that vision. You eventually answer this with your larger vision for your relationship and sex as a congruent part of that, but you have a long way to go before you'll be ready and able to form, articulate, and sell your vision, and lead her to it. You are right. I have a floaty plan for my life that even I cannot really tie down at times and it changes we…

OYS #4 & 5 Posting OYS 4 a little late so I am posting the two together. Will get the next one up earlier in the week. Stats 6’2” 187lbs(85kg) 19% body fat, 37yo married to w35, 2 kids Dread level 2. I have been a bit all over the place but getting it straight again. Physical/Health/Body Been to the gym 3x in the last week. My back is still sore so have been doing a mix of compound free weight lifts and some machine exercises. SL5x5 as a foundation and once back is feeling better I will follow…

STFU has been working well for me so far and as I understand when to do what it is getting easier to stay in my frame. I always pursue her so even just pulling back a little has made my frame a little stronger. That said a long way to go. Thanks for the advice.

Point form this time as last week I wrote too much. It was a victim puke born from feeling insecure. Stats 6’2” 187lbs(85kg) 19% body fat, 37yo married to w35, 2 kids Frame is still shit and mostly within wife’s frame. SMV is improving, even just with better grooming, and carrying myself better. Stand up straight! Dread level 2 with some 3. Physical/Health/Body have started posture exercises daily on advice from guys on MRP Have started cooking/eating better food. Lots of slow cooked chicken. Up…

your frame is all her right now. you have a long way to go. slow down and breathe. focus on getting your diet and lifts in order first. Slowing down - ok. I saw some good responses with certain things so may have sped up a bit. why does everyone want to not read WISNIFG. read the fucking book. it's a prerequesite for a reason. I will get it tonight and start reading it. just read the description on Amazon and it will definitely help me. you have fallen really far from back then. good news is you…

You're my height. I gained an inch after starting to lift by fixing my posture. I blame the deadlifts. BTW pushups aren't exactly a back exercise - mostly chest and triceps. Incorporate these, I do them several times a week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT_dFRnmdGs bust used to do them daily. For your back, rows and pullups. When you get stronger/more used to your body, Pendlay rows are the shit but I wouldn't recommend them for a novice. Yes, I think I will gain some height once I get my pos…

I have not fully understood fogging yet but will make sure to read up ASAP. One thing I have been noticing is that even overt sexual stuff has been well received if I deliver it right. She shit tested me a few times tonight and then seemed pissy but I held strong. I am currently cleaning the house and not giving her much attention. I walk into lounge room and she says “I just threw that bottle on the ground” in a bratty tone. I replied “you know what happens to people that throw rubbish on the g…

My head is clearer after sex. I was actually not initiating for the sex funnily enough, well I wanted sex. I really wanted to gauge her response though, and put an idea to the test, I thought if I try a new approach I could get out of my comfort zone and practice not being/seeming butthurt. I actually even felt butt hurt in the lead up to it though before rejection. I am initiating and thinking “oh fuck it, she is gong to say no and blah blah blah wah wah.” Like my mind was anticipating the reje…

Alright so here it is… long pt 1 Stats 6’2” 187lbs(85kg) 20% body fat, 37yo married to w35, 2 kids Physical/Health/Body I am skinny fat with tall man hunch. I have prioritised fixing this with back exercises. My physical frame will inform my mental frame. 20% body fat according to Navy Method. I tweaked my back a week or so back. I went to the gym to do some strengthening exercises but pushed a little too hard on my back making it worse. I was just so pumped to get moving. I am pissed at myself …

That is a good idea. I have been doing pushups and core exercises where comfortable so I think I will be able to lift by mid-next week. I will go to the gym tonight. Yes those front door pulls are tricky. Caught up with a friend for a few hours last night, we went and worked on a project together. Wife argued with me before I left basically calling me a pussy for the way I handled a tantrum earlier by my 4yo daughter. I DEER'd a little but then STFU. Didn't pass it but 2 months ago I would have …

Thanks. Realising more and more how much the kids can affect my wife’s mood. Probably not an uncommon problem with people new to MRP but certainly feel like I have let my needs be the last priority after kids for too long. I am doing some body weight exercise to strengthen my back muscles in prep for the gym. Also pushups daily again. I have a terrible tall man slouch so an early priority is sorting that. Apparently deadlifts and rows are the way to go. Have snapped some before pics to track pro…

OYS Week #3 6’2” 187lbs(85kg) 20% body fat , 37yo married to w35, 2 kids Current Goals: On advice from here trying to focus on some incremental goals rather than anything too massive. Pass the shit tests Get better at AA & AM Get better at STFU Figure out frame and build it Current reading: Art of Seduction, Mindful Attraction Plan. Don't undermine your new mindset and the dynamic by second-guessing it. Have confidence that things are changing, unless you receive very clear signals that they are not. Otherwise she will sense your incongruence. Things are certainly changing was second guessing myself. This is important that you recognize the dynamic in your own marriage. That's the hardest thing for a lot of people - they just take everything as gospel and try to implement it without any personal calibration. Sounds like a h…

I would just work on taking care of it and not say anything. If she asks, then be honest and don't lie about it. But telling her "just to be upfront and honest" does you no favors - it's similar to telling your wife you just completed a task around the house. Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it. I am going to work hard to get that debt sorted. Good. OYS, Captain. Interestingly after just a couple of weeks of me handling/taking over the finances she is now asking permission to do stuff. "Is i…

Stats 6’2” 187lbs(85kg) approx 20% 37yo married to w35 with 2 kids A little relationship heavy. My focus has still be my marriage and I have oneitis still. I need to work more on me and keep up the momentum but I feel 200% better in a week! Finances I have a big bit of shit to own this week. A total fuck up. I got an interest free credit card earlier in the year, my wife knows. She does not know about the $9,500 of debt I racked up. I have been wrestling with the correct plan of attack from a MR…

Well that is the detterant and has been the reality in the past (now too). But fuck that I would rather be alone. I have a son now and I think about breaking the family history of shitty dads a lot. The only way to do that is to get my shit sorted!!

I am good with general conversation and we certainly have fun but the shit tests are where things fall down. In hindsight I did not want to stay in but she possibly saw my walkout as a protest to her behaviour. It did not come up afterward. I feel like there is a constant power play when she is in a particularly shitty mood and down on the relationship. Breaking that cycle where I am chasing her for validation. Also passing shit tests vs calling out shitty behaviour is an area that I need to wor…

Thanks for the points. We left today for a 6 Day holiday. With close to 6 hours in the car with wife, 4 year old and 10 month old there has been plenty of time for STFU practice. After reading more on here last night I thought of it like a game. What could I handle as it was thrown at me? I held strong for 95% of shit tests. I STFU and "hmmm" "I understand". It actually improved my whole day and I focused on fun and the family. Wife is off me at the moment does not want touch which is not a grea…

Thanks. Have just read more posts on STFU. My instinct previously has been to talk more, open up etc. This is what my wife says she wants but it was getting us nowhere. Lift and STFU. First steps. Ok

True, nothing has changed. To be completely honest my marriage is actually at the shittiest point it has ever been. This is not a success story by any stretch but I am going to fix it. Interesting point on motivation. I have been relying on that 100%. I enjoyed the discipline of the gym and weights last time and I understand now why it is so important. I don't want to to bounce backward.

6’2” 187lbs(85kg) Ordered a body fat caliper but looking at images about 20%. , 37yo married to w35, 2 kids History: Read NMMNG 5 or so years ago. Lightbulb went off. It was all there: alcoholic distant dad, raised by single mum, anti-male sentiment, emotionally distant mother, nice guy, people pleaser, low self esteem etc. Initially wanted to change due to low sex marriage - at that stage 1x sex fortnightly was the norm but larger gaps of up to 6 weeks at times. That has actually dropped with t…
