Newborns health is fine. He has recovered quite well. He's actually ahead of schedule. As far as how much I helped, I helped as much as I could. When our year old was born, I was still working construction and was leaving the house at 4:30am. We agreed that she would get up with her at night as I needed to get some sleep as my job was quite dangerous. I am now self employed. Nothing going forward, will be as it was in the past. For one thing, my wife will have to work. With her resume, she will …

Again, my wife DID NOT have heart surgery. My newborn child did. As far as spending equal time, no I don't because I work full time and an self employed. I was off a month with the birth. October is a very busy month. The problem is when I am able to spend time with either, my stbx is super combative and childish. Saying "why are you trying to be a father now, whats changed. So she equates me providing as not being a father.

50/50 is also my hill to die on. I just asked because you had said that regardless the status quo is what the court adopts a majority of the time. Of course I'm going to fight. I was giving my past work schedule as an outline as to why I was not able to make it to events in the past. I will spend every dollar necessary to facilitate a 50/50 outcome. My question w as more in the regard of, if the bias is all that matters how do you effectively even fight it? Are you in a state which also heavily …

So based on this statement my fate is sealed I suppose. My wife has stayed home. Only reason she was able to was because of my earning potential. We made that decision together.. Oldest is only 4, so there has been no parent teacher conferences or any of that yet. Dr's visits, only one parent allowed at the pediatrician based on still in place ridiculous Covid measures. So if what your telling me is true, why even waste money on a lawyer? I don't care nor am I worried about the asset split. I'm …

Can I ask how you were able to increase? Was your ex wife a willing participant in that equation or did she fight? The reason I ask is everything I have been told is that custody agreements and most everything in a divorce decree seem to be really hard to overturn.

Thank you for the response. Some form of this is what I plan to do. However, I fear my wife will try to use it against me as if to say during the custody battle that I would always choose work over her or the kids. She has been a stay at home Mom since my daughter was born. I'm self employed and work long hours from May- October. Slow from November through March. I'm just fearful that she would try to use it as bargaining chips against me being able to handle 50/50 custody. I will definitely hav…

Lots have recommended nanny cams. Can anyone recommend anything microscopic? STBX is very observant and will notice anything out of place. Obviously it would have to be incredibly small.

I have no plans to move out. I did speak to my attorney this morning and ran all this by her and said I'm not going to put up with it. She said she is reaching out to stbx attorney and tell her she needs to Stfu basically. For what it's worth, I feel as though I'm in great hands with the attorney I have chosen. She has 30 years experience exclusively in family law. My wife's attorney has only been practicing since 2014, and dabbles in other areas of the law. Regarding the equity stake in the hom…

Great advice. This is what I would like to do. However, entering a custody dispute, would it be wise to bury myself in work? I mean that's not leaving much time for the kids is all. Secondly, with regard to overtime, insist earning more income in the present just setting you up for a larger spousal and child support obligation?

Was your wife actively trying to put a wedge between you and your kids? Was she combative and unhinged as well? I assume so. Just asking. It almost seems the 50/50 Parenting time outcome has more to do with what state you live in, and the judge's bias than anything else.

My wife did not have heart surgery. Our newborn son did on his 7th day of life. He is only 3 weeks old.

Not blindsided at all. Our marriage has been over s long time. Only reason I didn't file was because she was pregnant.
