Beautify said. All of it. Only regret that it took you so long to search for the best idealized version of you. This really hit me. Thank you for taking the time to write all this.

I'd like to point out that "afraid" is the keyword here. What I wrote in the original post are just some of my thoughts and feelings. I didn't say "I'm definitely wasting my time doing this."

I'm not treating it as a waste of time. I know I need to work on myself, that's why I'm taking this time to self reflect and grow

Thank you! I understand that. And I've been thinking about the whole alpha/beta thing, and I can agree with you. I don't mind 'beta' I just think this guy had many negative qualities. I know I'm far from perfect. And I know that any woman would be lucky to be loved as he loved me, but I am also aware of the fact that I wasn't ready for that. And that I just wasn't that into him. It wasn't meant to be. Maybe if he had met a year from now things would turn out differently.

Thank you! That's exactly what I plan on doing. And already am doing. I like how you mention mental health, because that is really important yet we tend to forget about it, I still have a lot of thing to work out through. I'm glad I found this place. Women here are so supportive!

I disagree with 'the wall' too. I always liked the idea of getting married young and being a young mother, maybe because my parents got me later in life and were focused on their carriers a lot, so I wanted to be the cool, young mom that gives all the attention to her kids. But I don't see that happening. Mostly because I want to finish my masters degree and move to a different country, start something of my own. I will work on my self and my life and what happens along the way happens. Also, so…

Thank you for your reply. I feel like best years are yet to come but I have a long way to go and the best I can do now is just focus on myself and good things will come my way.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
