If they so much as dare trying to touch Griswold, it needs to be a mass sex AND marriage strike.

So happy for you! I also left my abusive husband about 2.5 years ago and I finally feel ready to date after doing my inner work. Mind if I PM you? Would love to ask a couple things about how you approached dating after divorce.

As an Indian-American woman who was married to and divorced an Indian man, I fully agree with this. They are broadcasting loud and clear to the world how undesirable they are.

I love this. Any tips for how to explain why I'm low contact with my mother to a man I'm vetting for marriage without sharing that she was abusive and that my family was/is dysfunctional? He may want to meet the family and even if I say I don't keep in touch with them, he may ask why. How to foster the development of closeness while not sharing these traumas?

Are you me? We are literally in similar points in our journeys. I finally woke up to the reality that my mother has a personality disorder that has only gotten worse with time; I think it's narcissistic personality disorder or personality disorder NOS. As a child, I was totally parentified and my boundaries were grossly violated as she would sob about her misery literally all my life. Because I am sensitive and empath, I learned that being in relationship meant caretaking, self abandonment, and …

This is nature's way of punishing all the ecocidal scrotes who pillage Mother Earth just the way they know not how to honor the sacred feminine: Mother Earth is rendering them all infertile eventually.

"Her lunch hour is technically hers to do as she wishes." Translation: Ok, I guess I have to begrudgingly admit that she is an autonomous human being and not my slave who accounts for her every hour for me. "She could have been home an hour earlier every night this year if she hadn't done this project." Translation: I'm pissed that she escaped the misogynistic expectation that once a woman has a "traditional family," she should be at home and sacrifice all her other interests to serve the man by…

Well, I have read that many radical feminists believe that the role of motherhood in the patriarchy is a type of oppression in itself. Because mothers are expected to take the full responsibility for the child and do all the labor, which keeps them in the home and away from public life. Instead of the community or village raising children communally, mothers are forced to stay in the home and give up their full selves in the service of motherhood. So it makes sense that romantic relationships wi…

Thank you so much for this post and for sharing points from Dworkin's book. It's on my list of books to read now. I have noticed that most women don't acknowledge or seem to be consciously aware that they are being oppressed, yet they talk about all of the limits imposed on them because they are women, as if they are completely normal. It's extremely frustrating to witness, because their normalization of these conditions seems to perpetuate the cycle. The idea that LVM/NVM resist the initiation …

Serious question. What do I tell men if they ask why I'm divorced? Truth is there was trauma: emotional, verbal, and getting close to physical abuse. On the one hand, I know FDS says not to share that. On the other hand, how do I convey that I didn't get divorced for "frivolous" reasons- i.e. if an HVM comes across, I want him to know I take commitment seriously.

I would love to hear your advice regarding OLD. I know it's mostly trash, but it's a tool I want to use to practice boundary setting and to more efficiently interact with the tiny minority of HVM who may be there.

The law needs to recognize this as domestic violence and/or trafficking and arrest these worthless scrotes for victimizing these poor women from abroad. Only way this behavior will stop and these scrotes will stop procreating.

Professions I avoid: Military or ex-military: we have fundamentally different values in terms of supporting the military-industrial complex and/or we came from very different class backgrounds and he is/was probably seeped in toxic masculinity Cops: similar to above Any profession that requires frequent travel: i.e. touring musicians Fitness and yoga instructors: probably are obsessed with their and others' bodies Surgeons: God-complex Investment Banking: insane hours and probably a ruthless cap…

This is such an important post- thank you so much! I recently read that something like 75% of the elderly in long-term care are women. Those facilities are often very bare bones. Not only do women live longer, but they often end up very poor. What a shame, that after a lifetime of likely caring for scrotes (who may have been cheaters, abusers, or just plain entitled misogynists), their own children, their parents, and also doing some work outside of the home, many of today's elderly women are ba…

I just saw a TikTok from an account celebrating Sikh religion/culture in which the man spoke about the importance of not looking at pornography because doing so is lusting after women who are not your wife.

I am an ardent lover of solo dates and this post is a reminder for me to take myself on one soon. In no particular order, here are lovely solo dates I've taken myself on: -Take out dinner, followed by Uber-ing myself to a night at the symphony, coming back home and enjoying wine at home with the string lights on only -A matinee show of Tosca at the opera, treated myself to wine and chips at intermission -Preparing a warm bath with Epsom salt and essential oils, sipping on herbal tea in the bath,…

THIS. Marriage and kids. That's why the handbook advises not to disclose what you are looking for (if you do want marriage and kids) while dating. We can get children from a sperm donor, foster a child, or adopt a child, and we don't need to be married to have family and love.

Thank you. When I finally saw what was going on (and when I finally left my marriage), I dumped him as a therapist too. Found an amazing female therapist who has been helping me heal from the abuse. The performative allyship is more likely in a man who is articulate and emotionally intelligent, like a psychologist. That particular combination is dangerous. Many abusers and narcissists take up positions in spiritual or social justice spaces. Be wary. Also, don't depend on those with privilege to …

My previous therapist who was a white male psychologist seemed to try to examine his relationship to patriarchy. He regularly talked about patriarchy and men's expectations and how women suffer. But even he had unconscious biases that were harmful when I brought my marital troubles to sessions, such as encouraging me to be "small" with my ex-husband to "communicate". At that time my therapist didn't realize how abusive my marriage was as I didn't share all the details, but I think his implicit b…

I love this idea. The philosophy of living your life and doing things you enjoy points also to not relying on things like Bumble BFF, which are similar to OLD, though it's arguably less bad bc it's scrote-less. But alas LVW abound! The sad things is that the pandemic has shut down a lot of the venues to meet people doing things I'm passionate about: music, the arts, etc. With the Delta variant ramping up, it's looking bleak. BUT- still options to volunteer at some places that mean a lot to me! T…

Yes, exactly! Liberal feminists definitely flock to the command of scrotes and undervalue/undercut female friendships. I'm remembering a while back that someone posted that the patriarchy depends on women not prioritizing female friendships. Imagine how much we could heal the world and stand up to misogyny and scrotacity through the collective power of sisterhood and strong female friendships that are prioritized over any relationships with men.

Oo I love this idea of AAUW. I'm entering the final year of my doctorate so I should be freer to join after I graduate. I will look into women-only supports in my profession.

I've dealt with it by distancing myself from those friends, which is a sad outcome. I just text them less. Those friends are all pretty much devoted to their husbands/fiances anyway and barely have time for me. When we do hang out, they ask about dating, and I wonder if it's a kind of guilt that I'm alone much of the time and they can't see themselves pulling away from their nuclear families to be with me. Maybe a kind of defense mechanism?

It'll be almost two years since I left my ex-husband and over 7 months since the divorce is final. I have not touched dating with a 2 foot pole although several friends have hinted or even urged me to. This man-free space of almost 2 years has been sacred and magical. Time to really figure out what I demand from a romantic partner and what I will not accept.

Social class is determined by income, wealth, education level, values, and social location. For example, those in the upper middle class tend to value education, frequently do international travel trips, support cultural institutions such as theater, opera, or symphony, have economic security and have their kids' college education paid for. This is a great breakdown of different social classes in the US: https://resourcegeneration.org/breakdown-of-class-characteristics-income-brackets/

ologists, finance bros, anyone who works in a supermarket and doesn’t plan to move on, unemployment, lawyer I know a HVM psychologist who was a devoted, doting husband to his psychologist wife of 30 years. I have never seen a more caring, respectful husband who was in awe of his wife's brilliance and empathy.

100%. The problem is Scrotes don't see the ability to create life and birth a human as the miracle that it is. To them, it's an entitlement. Pathetic fucks don't deserve their genetic combination to be pushed forward.

This was my NMV ex husband to a tee. He got an upgrade to business class and eagerly went to grab it during our flight to Mexico while I sat in economy. During vacations in Europe, he never carried my luggage and would yell at me at the hotel for not being as fast as him. He would yell at me for not wearing makeup too but never made the connection of me having to lug that shit around in my luggage.

I am so happy to see this post. As a desi woman who was born and raised in the US, made the mistake of marrying a desi man who grew up in India, and then was wonderfully introduced to how abusive he became and how his behavior was condoned by his awful family, I cannot like this enough. I went through a divorce process from hell and spent shitloads of money and over 1 year to get divorced without any settlement whatsover, because he refused to cooperate and sign the papers. What has been doubly …
