I just want to follow my nature as a human male, and when I do, I see I have good in me. The world ( trp included ) might dusagree, but that is outside of our control. If I follow my fate cheerfully, even the gods can't ask for more. I agree about tge false dilemma, it might be the product of my confusion about conducting my self,more so after visiting TRP.

This is one of the issuesa contemporary seeker of Stoicism will face : you will be playing with a set of rules only you abide with ( stoic ethics ), and that is fine if your goal is personal virtue,but it won't, for example, set you up for a raise at work, or get you ahead of work place dirty politics. I think all Stoics faced this dilemma, and the solution may be playing with two sets of rules : Stoic when alone,Machiavellien when in the group. I dunno.. The Meditations is still the dearest boo…

I will be honest. Lately I have been thinking about deleting the Stoic texts I have on all my devices, especially the meditations which I love. I thought about forgetting about stoicism because I feel I am not up for the virtous life.

Let's brainstorm.. You make the impression that the objective of Stoicism is to hide your feelings from others as to "not show them " . As I understand it, ( and I am a newbie ) is that, you should actively work so your negative feelings don't control you \ affect your correct judgements and proper actions. While the impressions of others are only second in importance . What do you think ?

So IDGAF in the field of work or university, is just a tool to remove crippling performance\failure\success anxiety , and do the actual work which will bring the desired results ? I have previously made the naive mistake of imagining that IDGAF without actually doing the work can meracuosly help me pass uni exams.. The results were as you would expect : An epic fail.
