Sorry to hear that you’re going through this. Married 5 months and I’m going through the same. My wife is great but there’s an age gap and lots of arguing over trivial stuff. I’m on the edge of calling quits especially now that my views change on marriage and having kids. Taxes and marriage ought to be taught in school because the dream of romance is a hoax.

Sorry to hear that. My wife is a refugee and have been through lots of trauma. Do you recommend sharing the name of the book your therapist recommended.

I love the last thing you’ve said “The problem with the world is that intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of ignorance”.

I’m sorry this is the case. A friend of mine who has 2 kids told me the same thing, if it wasn’t for his kids, he would end the relationship.

Thanks for sharing your story and I admire your resiliency. It’s easy for me to move on but it won’t be for her thus my situation is kind of awkward. I wish you the best and glad you’re on the right path to more success

I appreciate everyone for their feedback and input. We certainly go through similar challenges and sometimes life is too complex to be able distinguish right from wrong. One thing I’m definitely certain of: we must compromise.

YeH same issue happened with my wife and it wasn’t disclosed to me until she told me post our marriage. I felt almost cheated and one time we had an argument and she did cut herself. That’s why, I just tend not to escalate things with her but simply not attracted to her on a personality level as I thought I was. Ukh

I’m sorry to hear man. Yes we distract ourselves with life pleasures to escape such thoughts. Will ultimately have to make a decision of being selfish and have a shot at happiness or more than likely live miserably for the remainder of our days.

Good luck man. I can’t imagine feeling like this for 5 years. It’s certainly the hardest thing I had to go through ever. And I’ve lost my mom to cancer.

It’s a cultural thing when you’re brought up in a traditional family. Relationships outside of marriage are looked down up but I’m not religious by any means. I was just too conformed to my surroundings

I love your input. Though, being in such state of mind, it’s hard to do anything positive when you’re consumed with thoughts of regret and self sabotage just takes hold of you. You know you’ve made a mistake but correcting it will result in a mess.
