What would you like her to be charged with instead? This seems pretty clear cut third degree assault to me. If you say a man would be charged with 2nd degree assault or battery then I agree that would be unfair. But that doesn't mean the charge against this woman was unjust. It can't be first or second degree assault because she didn't cause substantial bodily harm. 2	Why is it that men are required to sign up for selective service and women are not? Historically men have consistently been the ones to do the fighting. Men are generally physically stronger than women, which for most of human history made them better combatants. Men in general also have a greater desire to fight due to hormones. Also historically women have been occupied with raising children.
