While I think diversity is important, those fitness tests are there for a reason, and unless you can show the tests are designed to discriminate against women, this should not be controversial. If her academic scores are so good, there must be another way she can serve within the FDNY besides carrying a 200lb man out of a flaming building, right?

I would not trust her if she was on my team. The functional skills test makes sure that you're physically able to perform your job. If I get whacked in the head and go down, and she can't pull me out of the building, I'm gonna die. I don't want to die. Dying is bad for fireman.

The Pinal County Attorney also issued a brief statement on the case saying, "Tyler Kost is presumed innocent unless proven guilty." Yeah that's totally how it's gonna work out... I'm sure being accused of raping multiple people will have no affect on his future life even if found innocent.

if 13 year olds can conspire why can't 40 year old adults

So there's two possible scenarios here. He didn't rape anyone in which case his life has been ruined thanks to a bunch of fuckwits or he raped at least one person and these false accusations basically made it ridiculously harder to convict him. Either way these three girls have caused irreparable damage to either his life or the lives of potential victims and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I don't care if it's rape, murder, assault, theft or parking like an asshole. If yo…

For each feminist guy who swallows this bullshit, there's a frustrated woman waiting to be hit on. I don't go in for any of that PUA stuff, but if you think this SRSmen "enthusiastic consent" bullshit is what women want, then yeah, good luck with that.

The lesson here is that people are multi-dimensional. We can’t boil people down to numbers or statistics, or reject people based on the color of their skin. But, the person is doing just that.

My desirability is not my value. Your desires could not be any less relevant to my value, you supremely self-centered asswipe.

TL;DR: Everything that is bad is menz' fault, through "patriarchy", even when it benefits women, but we don't hate men at all, it's MRAs who hate women. Pro-tip: if you have to scream in an argument it's usually a hint that you're the one losing.

There seems to be a lot of butthurt in this thread, probably because the article may possibly have touched a nerve with some people here? You need to realize that the author of the article posts the most extreme of examples which gets the point across quite harshly. It may quote an asshole or two but if you focus specifically on them you are missing the point. Speak to any group of guys in their 30s and I’m sure many, of not most, of them will be able to relate to the article in one or more ways…

The bright side is that the man who was fired said that he already had an interview, or at least was going to meet with another company and he was confident that he would be employed again in the near future. Adria, though? With a reputation for publicly shaming people making tech jokes, she might not have such an easy time finding employment. And that would be a very valuable lesson.

she couldn't present because she was talking about sex? that's some kind of bullshit. EDIT: omfg it gets worse. Discussing sex creates a “sexualized environment” which many people take as a signal to treat women as sexual objects rather than as fellow conference attendees, resulting in a higher incidence of harassment and assault of women. Too many women have been raped at technical conferences; we should do everything we can to prevent future rapes. (one of the many excerpts with confusing logi…

From the Marine's statement: When they came into the waiting room Ashton came over to me and was talking to me when Crystal’s mother came and grabbed him and pulled him away telling him not to talk to me because I was a stranger now. She also began calling me names. I asked her to please stop cursing at me before the child. This made her really angry and she looked right in my eyes and told me that I should have died in Iraq like I was supposed to do. WHAT THE FUCK. Good job, judicial system.
