YES! We need to strongly discourage going on high adrenaline dates early on into the vetting process. Some examples are trampoline dates, knife throwing, rock climbing, amusement parks, etc.

Also the communities on here that "help men" or men's self help books are the biggest shams

Holyy this reminds me of LVM-ex (who was significantly older than me) that complained about my boobs sagging from 19-22 years old. I hope this girl leaves ASAP before risking any more mental damage.

To add: they will sabotage everything you love and care for whether that's your career, friends and family.

Yes 100% a man can act right when you leave him and go back to treating you like shit the second you're "secured". Either is right intrinsically or he isn't.

This applies to your late teens and early twenties as well. If I haven't listened to my gaslighting ex I would have probably started my career sooner than I have.

Yes! I've been wanting to elaborate on this topic of the "false HVM" for a while (I've commented this sub a few times about this). In my experience, these are the worst men because you expect them to be HVM, they might keep up the façade for months or years but they will ALWAYS be some sort of covert narcissist/manipulator

To be 100% honest, I stopped talking to people whether its a LVM, HVM, close friends, close family, strangers, whatever for their opinions about my future plans and just went for it. I'm convinced that everyone has their own opinions (no matter who they are) about what you should do. At the end of the day its your life and its on your own hands to see what you want to do in the future. I just ended up weighing my options internally and say "hey I'm going to school this fall" instead of asking fo…

I agree, I feel like it needs to be talked more on here. Yes for sure! A++ I totally agree it takes a lot to leave these kind of men but the grass is SO MUCH greener on the other side.

Yep good on paper, aka high paying job, had his own tidy place, paid on dates 100% of the time the whole shabang. Finding out later down the line (aka 3/4 years in) of his covert narcissistic tendencies was a whole revelation on my part

omg I'm sorry you went though that :( That's a really good example of how someone can appear great but be a gaslighter and deny your personal experiences

Great points! LVM is always going to be LV no matter how much they cover it up on the surface

Jesus girl I started going into panic mode and furiously typing my response but then I saw the tiny /s and calmed down.

When hard working women from the big city quit their job so they can be with a country ass boy who won't do his laundry.

I totally relate. I think every 4/5 times I go on a run I get oogled at by men of literally any age, I've gotten honked at a few times too. Quarantine is exposing LVM thirstryness to the extreme.

Wow I totally agree. This reminds me of men who design dresses on tiktok and model them. These men appreciate the construction, fabric and cut of the dress. I don't get that negative gut reaction because I know they enjoy the whole dress making process. For me, they don't model a feminine dress but a piece of beautiful clothing. In the article, it seems like the man is trying to be attention seeking and woke. There's almost a weird hidden agenda to it.

Wow I 100% agree with you on there, especially about that one sentence comment that dampens your whole week. Statistically, the more frequently you go on dates with various men , the more likely they're going to be LVM.

Thank you for posting this! Everyone who survived narcissistic abuse should watch this video. Those little put downs on your dreams really make you doubt yourself and your potential. "Never clip your wings for another human being" is what FDS is all about.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
