Personally it seems to me that it's one of those things where she was only down in the moment / that night, and otherwise isn't interested. The lackadaisical nature of her text responses and generally being broad in her availability indicates that.

Good mindset to have, but she picked you up. You really didn't do anything.

What are your hobbies? That's always a good starting off point. Get involved with something you enjoy outside of work. For example, I enjoy hiking and photography. I usually bring my camera everywhere with me and especially on weekends, I use at as an excuse to go to new places and take pictures. Honing my skills. And hiking, I don't have many friends that hike so I joined a meetup group. They have hikes every week and usually to places I haven't been before. I'm hitting 3 birds with one stone h…

Uh, if you're not willing to get more interesting (due to x reason), the only other option is to date women who find "boring" attractive.

That is a terrible mentality to have. If you don't go on dates.....what would you do with girls once you're with them 1 on 1?
/r/seduction13/03/15 10:39 PM

I think if it ever comes up again when you're dating, the one thing not to do is be defensive about or dismiss her feelings about it. Yes you're single and you're available and you want to play the field. That's all fine and good, but some people aren't like that and want to only date 1 person at a time because of x reason. So if she brings it up, usually it's either in the case that they're looking to make things more serious, or they're the former single-person dater. Honestly, I would just te…

Honestly it kind of seemed like she was just playing around (if you were reading her correctly in that it was in a playful manner) and you could've bantered with her and closed. "Oh is it your last day here? Guess we're going to have to go on that date soon then".

I mostly agree with this (like 90%) which is why I added the addendum that long conversations is only okay if the girl is receptive. I've had a few dates where the girl and I texted a lot and the first date was surprisingly well and easy, part of which we attributed to getting to know each other early on. But this is few and far between and you're better off using texting for only logistics.

God I miss college. I did okay in college but if I knew then what I knew now, it'd be a different story. Not that I'm not successful now, but I miss the ease of it and fact that 40000 young and horny people are in the same area, haha. Good on you op and I agree with what /u/blooiskoo said.

I was at that point a year ago. I was with a girl at a bar and she left to go have a smoke and apparently a dude started chatting her up. I don't smoke so I was just watching whatever was on TV. She came back and said she's going to sit by her new friend and if that's okay. I said it was (whyyyyyyy) and then proceeded to sit by myself for the next hour and a half. Then when she was ready to leave (I was her ride), the guy offered to give her a ride home. I still left with her but man that was a …

Getting into long conversations is okay (imo and if the girl is receptive), but only if you have a set date already. Don't ramble on for too long without securing one. I mean that's why you got the number right? So tell her that you'd like to take her on a date and suggest a place and time.

You don't need to drink coffee to have a coffee date. Get literally anything else there, a juice, smoothie, tea, water, etc. It's the idea that a coffee date is non-committal to say a dinner date. It's purpose is to have a casual environment for you two to feel each other out and see if you want to see each other again afterwards.
/r/seduction25/09/14 08:15 PM

That you just want a fuck buddy and nothing serious? Right from the get go. "Just got out of a relationship...not looking for anything serious. Just casual".

Just reached that part and it really is eye opening and very true. A lot of guys don't realize how much they're being closed off and not being their true selves as a result.

This is great advice. I come from a similar (though minority) background as the OP, and while I've done well for myself in terms of dating and whatnot, physical kino is still my weak suit. I had a first date last night and subconsciously did the whole back of the fingers touch to her shoulders while gesturing. I didn't get as a far as lingering or using the pads or escalating to her hands, but everything felt natural. I'll keep your advice in mind if a second date happens.

Awesome. What happened to the girl you were originally intent on seeing?
/r/seduction14/07/14 06:06 PM

Sure, but you can't think or let that deter you. If you're awesome and your personality shows through, she'll still be interested in your despite other suitors. However, this can only happen if you get to showcase yourself in person as there's too much ambiguity through text.
/r/seduction11/07/14 10:11 PM

You build relevancy face to face, in my opinion. The fact that you've already met and hung out, even in a group setting, means that she's aware of you. If you want to take things further you guys need to go out 1 on 1 as soon as possible.
/r/seduction11/07/14 09:59 PM

Why haven't you asked her out instead of playing this game through text?

Everything in moderation. I'm not a fan of self-limitations or restrictions, personally. I see nothing wrong with any of the above, but to play to your point, if doing any of those becomes a hindrance to your life, then perhaps one should take a step back and reevaluate priorities.

Aside from just powering through and getting used to the feeling of approaching people and getting "rejected", I recommend meetups for folks like you. Everyone is there for the same reason (to meet new people/friends) and it makes it easier on the whole dynamics of the group. If you want to further get rid of your anxiety, there are some social anxiety meetup groups as well who meetup specifically for the purpose of doing exercises to get over that hump. Some of these are just breaking into smal…

Plowing is key. Let her physically remove herself from the conversation before you yourself give up. It'll be scary because you're putting yourself out there and not getting the response you want or expect, but it's all about working through these tough openers.

Girls will say a lot of stuff when they're drunk. It could go either way, honestly. Ask the female friend if the number she gave you is close to the number she has (she could've mistyped) but if it's a totally different number I'd drop it and move on.

It just takes practice. Work on your day game and cold approaches. Then work on your night game without drinking. Alcohol lowers your inhibitions and makes them numb. You just need ot get comfortable enough where your sober inhibitions are "numb" from repeated exposure. After that you'll be able to do the things you did when you're sober and have a clear mind as well.

definitely blur it out. it's a bit more work but the results will be better. it's so you can see their body language which is equally important and something you can't get with audio only. and a discreet way if you don't want to bother with a button camera setup is have a friend with a camera around his neck sitting across the way pretending to play on this phone or whatever. just have his body/camera positioned towards your direction. you might have to mic'd up for this as well, or just sync th…

Tinder is a numbers game and first impressions count. But it's "less work" of the two since it's essentially based on whether you both have mutual physical attraction. It's used more as a hook up than a dating app (though both can happen) and it's pretty fun and mindless. Okcupid has more girls looking to date and get into a relationship, but you can still use it to simply hook up. It's a bit more difficult though since you'll often need to flesh out your profile and stand out amongst the rest o…

Perhaps just go an hour earlier where there's a bit less people and build rapport then? That's what I'd do and then you both can enjoy the concert and grab a few more drinks afterwards (or transition into food).

I think you like the chase of getting numbers and the 'high' that comes with it. But also, you need to ask yourself why don't you want to go? Are you afraid she'll see you in a different light once you're 1 on 1? Why set up a date at all if you're going to eventually bail?

Are you trying to hang out with this girl or date her? From the limited context, it seems like these are just hangout sessions. Also the fact that she didn't suggest a different time isn't really indicative of anything imo. Some times it just doesn't cross a person's mind to suggest another alternative (as often the case with women) or the fact that they do not know their schedule x days in advance. Personally, I'd suggest another alternative date and if she blows you off, then it'd be time to d…

Yeah, focus on more local girls. I feel like LDR's are only for those who've made a meaningful connection and are already committed to each other, before one has to go away for one reason or another. I wouldn't attempt to, or expect anyone else to, begin a relationship (especially one where you haven't even dated yet!) with someone long distance.

Don't ask her, tell her. "Let's go to _____ on Friday night at 9"

G'damn paragraphs please! And it doesn't have to be anything complicated (plenty to read about this on the sidebar). But to save you sometime, just text her "Hey, it's _____. Let's grab drinks on ___ at ______" and that's it. p.s: I don't know it bolded just those words.

It's perfectly normal and girls know it. A lot of the time they don't even know it's there (loud music, in the moment, lots of dance movements) and if they do, they don't care. I've asked my lady friends about it. I mean, what do they think is going to happen if they grind on a dude? :P Next time just let it go and continue.

If your topic of conversation isn't strictly about school, then I say your fine. But if you jump from major, to classes, to finals, to teachers, to future career prospects, yeah - they're going to lose interest fast. I'd keep it a mixture of half on them (everyone loves to talk about themselves) and half irrelevant things (current events, campus gossip, situational observations, etc).
/r/seduction20/01/14 10:26 PM
2

Firstly, I think you were blown out. Every girl loves to text, so I don't buy the whole "not giving out her number" bit, but that's just me and based on the very little context we have here. Secondly, that's your call. If you want to be persistent and try again, then by all means. Say that you have a free moment in between classes and if she'd like to get a coffee with you or something.
/r/seduction20/01/14 10:17 PM

Too much over thinking dude! College parties are the easiest to make conversation with due to the sheer fact that it's thousands of people around your age, in a single location, for a single purchase (education). The easiest topic of conversation after you open a set is asking about their major. From there, you should have plenty of jumping off points.

Tinder is strictly about looks. Make your first picture count. There's no set number of likes that is average or normal.

You're welcome. I've done the community college route as well and if it's anything like mine, there will be a designated day where every club on campus will have a booth advertising and trying to get people to join. And if that day has come/gone, you can always look at the bulletin board, or check your school's online directory, which will usually have a list of organizations and their corresponding website. And if that doesn't pan out, there's school specific subreddits as well (even community …

If you're just looking to meet new people that can potentially turn into friends, I highly suggest joining some your campus clubs. There will be socials and activities where you can foster these type of friendships. As far as meeting and talking to women, you just have to drop that mentality that things will be "awkward" if you get rejected and still have to see that person every x days during class. If you don't make it a big deal, it won't be a big deal.
/r/seduction16/01/14 11:05 PM

The end of your story got a bit confusing and I couldn't tell if you asked her to study in person right away or over text a while later, my mistake. But regardless, girls that give you the cold shoulder or aren't receptive aren't worth your time. And from your reply below, it does look that way. Ain't nobody got time for that!
/r/seduction16/01/14 11:02 PM
2

What exactly did you text prior to asking to study together? What made you think that she because "hestitent" and that her mood changed? Those things are sometimes difficult to discern through text, but perhaps the fact that she didn't address your offer says it all. Drop her and move on.
/r/seduction16/01/14 08:57 PM
1

Yeah, distance is definitely a factor for most people. I wouldn't push the subject anymore. Just hit her up the next time you're in town and take her up on her offer.
/r/seduction16/01/14 06:48 PM
1

What's done is done, but a tip for the future is to minimize the "getting to you know" aspect of dating over text. It's not a hard and fast rule by any stretch of the imagination, but it'll benefit you in the long run as you'll have more interactions and things to talk about in person and can assess body language, tonality, physical contact, etc. But since this instance, /u/NotActuallyBatman has the right idea.

Eh, I don't know if I agree with your conclusion. If a relationship is something that you want, then you have to make it known. Nothing beta about that. How you react to it on the other hand, speaks volume about yourself and is what differentiates someone who's confident in oneself and one who isn't. I think if you just made it known to her that "I like where it's going and I like what we have at the moment and we should just roll with that" instead of trying to recover with it after whatever yo…

I'm glad you had an epiphany and realized the difference between being a nice guy and being a "nice guy". However this part felt more like the latter to me: Was I too nice? Did I do something to turn you off from me? I already said I’m not going to be offended I just want to hear the truth. I need to hear the truth, it’s for my benefit. Nothing good can come out of this, even if you say you're not going to be offended. It comes off as a bit...needy. Seems like you got faded out and sometimes the…

I've had a girl who was a terrible kisser and the one advice I can give you kiss with your lips, not with your mouth. It shouldn't be aggressive (not yet :P) nor wet. If you have to wipe your mouth after kissing, you're doing it too widely and using your mouth.

I don't think there will ever be a "perfect opportunity" where everything aligns in the way you imagine it, creating the moment for you to make your move. The perfect moment is the moment you take action. It seems a bit like you're making excuses for yourself (such as that you have to walk with your friends). Next time you see her, pull her to the side and ask her out.

Bowling isn't that good of a first date option because you get less of a chance to interact with each other. It's a game of taking turns and you only have a minute or two in between pin changes. Not conductive for conversation. Mini golf is better since you're at least standing next to each other the whole time and a bit more isolated than bowling. Also good chance for kino. Personally, I'm a fan of dinner and walks.

If it doesn't matter to you, then it won't matter to them. But it looks like it does to you, so you need to work on yourself first. Start the process to your goals and in turn you'll feel better about yourself and it'll show in your confidence.

Just because it's "normal" to show up "drunk as hell" to this particular club, doesn't mean you should/have to do it. You probably gave off an aggressive / creepy / way too drunk vibe, which is neither attractive nor appealing.

Nooooooo don't apologize. You can talk about literally anything! How is she enjoying the class does she find the material hard does she play any sports etc etc Walk up to her tomorrow while going to the same class, say hey/hello/what's up and make conversation.

Honestly, this is a pretty terrible idea. Pretty sure this will set off "creeper" / "desperate" / "weird" flags in the girl's mind. Tone down your opener to something less than this. I mean you're kind of on the right path in being upfront and playful with your direct intent, but it's a bit overboard.

That's great but it's hard to argue that race doesn't matter when even before meeting someone they say they're not interested right after knowing you're Asian. Now it's a bit different when it's an irl interaction since at least you have more to go on (looks, game, personality, etc), but if it was a blind setup and he was white I'm sure she wouldn't object.

Bandaid! You just have to do it. Read a few posts here about how to approach and how to direct a conversation, but regarding the approach itself, you just have to do it. There's this "rule" that some people give themselves where if they see someone they find attractive, they approach them within 3 seconds. That way you be in your head and talk yourself out of it and devauling yourself. So if you're in a bar, and you see a pretty girl walk in, within 3 seconds you approach her and open. Done and …

You should research some highly reviewed ones on Yelp and visit them by yourself on a free weeknight. That way you'll get a lay for the place and see if it's somewhere you'd want to bring someone. There's nothing wrong with going somewhere solo and it'll bring you out of your comfort zone. Also there are bar seatings for this reason Why wouldn't it?
