1	Feminsm Modern day feminism has become more about superiority of women than equality, so I don’t use that term. I never said idea was reality, either. I believe that feminism is no longer necessary because the old social structure is no longer practiced. 2	Feminsm I know. Again, I’m just commenting on the claim that a patriarchy never existed. When I mentioned Salons, I wasn’t claiming that those were the only clubs. I’m just saying that, historically, they were the first significant clubs for women. 1	Feminsm When did I say I consider myself a feminist? I’m simply disagreeing with the statement that patriarchy never existed. I don’t consider myself a feminist at all. Frankly, women have it pretty good nowadays. Maybe I’d consider myself an egalitarian. Men have it pretty bad when it comes to social issues such as being seen as inferior in parenting, being expected to not show emotions, etc. I try to look at multiple perspectives and form my own based off of what I see.	/r/MensRights	27/08/19 07:14 AM
2	Feminsm I agree. Patriarchy no longer truly exists in America. My point that by definition, though the word itself is a theory, its description fits the old social structure of Western Europe and America after its colonization in the 17th century. The word patriarchy is (or at least was) used to describe the hierarchical patterns of men when it came to their power in government, law, marriage, etc. The first woman to be considered a feminist was Christine de Pisan, who wrote “Querelles des Femmes”. I understand the claims that we don’t need feminism today, as women are LEGALLY equal and have rights. I actually agree.
