This is such a toxic mindset. It’s victim blaming. Women in general don’t have ‘trust issues’ they have seen how men can deceive and lie to their faces and now know what theyre capable of. They are educated, and they are not the problem. Urgh this comment has really upset me, it’s gaslighting.

I wonder that about me too. I hope we both get to the point where we truly realise and believe that we DIDNT deserve it. Hugs to you.

Can’t believe reading the article the answer wasn’t ‘punish the bullies’ but instead things the victim should do. It’s disgusting and another thing example of enabling the misogynistic narrative.

Women actually have! We are selected for our temperament, our appearance, not features that make it easier to give birth, or because we have less painful periods. It is exactly the same.

They act like its OUR FAULT we have sex organs and we should suffer for it. Its such a throwback to the Christian "Eve" view - and its become endemic even in people who aren't religious.

Part of the problem is saying the pain is 'natural' - we need to stop using that word. It is used against us, giving fuel to those who say we are built to withstand it, we dont need painkillers etc etc. Actually, most mammals do not undergo the pain women go through in either menstruation, or birth. We as a species are not built to reproduce easily and safely. Do we watch British Bulldogs, who have been bred to have heads to large to be birthed, suffer because its 'natural'? No, of course not.

Right, so according to that article, men need sex to feel loved, women need love to want sex. So the logical step would be, I think youll all agree, show a woman love if you want sex?? But even this simple “if this then that” scenario is not only ignored by men but protested against. Men have no understanding of reciprocity. They are entitled to the core, even when it is spelled out to them what they have to do to get their ‘needs’ met. I have no idea why we bother with them at all.

I appreciate the sentiment, but I don’t like posts implying I don’t know my own mind. Part of abuse is being made to doubt your own interpretation of things.

We need a term for this to hit back at men who use the word gold diggers for these women, and really any women.

I definitely recognise a lot of what the op has said in UK men, it’s only after during this sub I see how horrifically emotionally abusive my relationships with some british men have been. Not all, sure, but certainly in the last few years standards have slipped so shockingly that it’s made me not want to date anyone. These people don’t seem like the exception, but the rule, I’d rather be alone than deal with that fucked up kind of treatment.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
