| 2 | Love my kid more than anything but the marriage is brokenI kind of willed myself into my marriage. I loved her but I settled and I also carried some weird guilt that made it seem like this was the right thing for me to do. We/I was definitely miserable in the beginning....like 3, maybe 4 years but I didn't want to throw in the towel. things changed during her pregnancy and seemed to even put until about six months into my daughter's life and ...well, I think it takes some women a couple of years to mentally recover from pregnancy. Lots of reasons for … | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/01/24 10:36 PM |
| 2 | Love my kid more than anything but the marriage is brokenHow old is your kid? My brother has lived in something like what you describe for years now, three kids, with about four years yet to go before the last one is 18. He's miserable. But he's got a good relationship with his boys. Mine relationship w my daughter is fkd. I'm in the alienation/estrangement category for all intents and purposes. I'm trying desperately to claw my way back into her life. Anyway, as you can see I have regrets. Hang in there wherever you decide to hang. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/01/24 09:47 PM |
| 3 | Love my kid more than anything but the marriage is brokenYour experience sounds A LOT like where I was a year ago. I'm glad I moved out. It was not a marriage that really suited either of us despite 20 years. The kid issue is no fg joke though. I barely see my daughter (it's complicated bc of course it is, also she's 15) and I had to move about an hour away bc of job change. My point, I guess, is that do whatever you can to secure the time with your kid. I'm pretty much a wreck everyday. Good luck. I really hope for the best for you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/01/24 09:15 PM |
| 1 | Divorce: The ultimate hype cycleThis chart actually helps.me a lot today. So I am already divorced (since November -- 2 months to be exact) and of course everyone's circumstances are different. While I am the one who left, the path has included a lot of remorse and guilt despite a lot of support and a confidence that I was making the right choice. Im finding that maybe I'm starting on that up slope toward enlightenment. I also lost my job in the middle of this so it certainly compounded a crap load of stuff. I guess what I'm s… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/01/24 07:53 PM |
