I'm on your side "Hi mom, your daughter will call back in 2 seconds." click.. Play it off with a smile and something along the lines of "I think your mom likes me." and your set.

Any tips on overcoming oneitis since you mentioned coming out of a bad breakup? I'm currently in that phase and looking to move on.

A good word that encompasses what you just said is apathetic.

Me: 17 at the time. I'm a soccer referee, and I was running one of the sidelines reffing these 16 year old girls. So, the defender closest to me for the last half of the game is a total hb8. Anyway, somewhere in the middle of that half, she got ran over by a land whale, and I called a foul. When she scraped herself off the ground we made eyes and her demeanor changed from pissed to somewhat nervous. From there, we were basically eye fucking the rest of the game. After it was over, I started walk…

Simple carbs are refined sugars that have little nutritional value and cause the body to produce insulin spikes by raising blood sugar levels really quickly. This puts people more at risk for type II diabetes. This is what gives your body those quick bursts of energy and subsequent crashes. Complex carbs don't raise the blood sugar levels in the body nearly as fast and produce a steady level of energy throughout the day compared to the quick and short lived simple carb. They also help to protect…

The meddit faq is very helpful, and I found this blog to be a great help as well.

It's hard for people to understand what real anxiety is if they don't encounter the dreadful physical symptoms that come along with it. Some people with those disorders really do need to see a therapist. Then there are those (like me) who just needed a good kick in the ass from their ex military stepdad to get there confidence back.

You'll spend less time worrying about whether she likes you and more time trying to decide if you like her. Amen. You're the star of the show and loving yourself is key. I can add a couple things that I've learned through dealing with GAD (general anxiety disorder). Meditation. Nothing big. Start small. Ten minutes maybe twice a day of quiet relaxation. This was instrumental in allowing me to be mindful of my anxious feelings (even in a crowded setting) and to help push them aside at will. A lot…

To be honest, I found that inspiring because you never gave up and yet you still look forward to going out again. I would be pretty bummed after a night of nothing but strike outs and flakes.

Anytime man. I have been blessed to never have had clinical depression but it's in a similar category as anxiety. As in, the same types of things I've done could help you overcome depression. I could pm you that if you like since it might be kind long.

Man I straight up have been formally diagnosed with general anxiety disorder. Psychologically, that shit has tortured me all summer. On top of that, my gf broke up with me over that period which compounded more anxiety on top of what I was already working with. If there's anybody that understands psychological issues, it's this guy. I'm not going to sit around and wait for this shit to blow over because it's not. As a matter of fact, if there's one thing that's helped corral my anxious thoughts …

Bro. Loving yourself is the first thing that needs to happen. I promise once you do that, confidence will come more naturally.

I fucking hate that beginning conversation stutter. It's like once it happens, in my mind (and in there's too), it's hard to recover.
