3	Perfect Yes, it was generally referred to as either cannabis or hemp, I believe depending on THC concentration (ie, flowers w/ higher concentration of THC = cannabis, hemp = plant). I shouldn't have said nobody ever called it marijuana before, that's misleading; it just wasn't commonly used in the US until the 1930s, leading up to the introduction of the 1937 Marihuana Tax Act.	/r/MensRights	13/06/17 04:18 AM
–	Perfect It's been admitted that crack was introduced to black communities by the CIA. The war on drugs as a whole began as a thinly veiled attempt to easily target hippies and minorities. Even the name marijuana was introduced by Anslinger so people would associate it with Hispanics -- nobody called it that before.
