Living in a place in Mexico where this isn't all that uncommon. Somewhat well to do Western males with much younger/prettier partners. And some plain Western women with hot boyfriends that are perfect gentlemen. My guess is more people will do this as working remote is common now. As you're trying to settle down one issue is that relationships take a lot of communication, and that is harder across cultures/languages. It's also just nice to be able to crack jokes about shows you both grew up watc…

From the evolutionary perspective, I find it helpful to think about crying. It's not the only function (there are tears of joy, etc), but crying is meant to communicate helplessness. It's asking those watching to take mercy stop harming or solve a problem. As the disposable sex, this strategy doesn't work as well for men. Thus less compulsion to cry when things go wrong. Because there is a large biological component, I'm not too bullish on how much the empathy gap can be moved.

Agree with most of what you say, and particularly that societal norms regulate who can have sex. Though we probably do disagree with how much those norms are changed by discussion vs technology. For example, domesticating animals led to a huge jump in how many children the very top males had. This was later tampered down with (spottily enforced) monogamy. OP would like to return to a recent set of sexual mores. He should consider what it would mean to make an argument against others' consensual …

The problem is trying to control others' consensual sex. It's a hard sell to make, particularly when the reason is "don't have sex with him so you will have sex with me."

Perhaps I can be reborn as a Woman; being a Man is hell Sucks you are hurting. It is unfair but then again life isn't fair. On dating what changes would you like to see? Who would implement them? Current equilibrium is kept in place by biology and game theory. The latter changes a lot based off technology, supply-demand, and cultural norms (hard to change those directly though). IMO fighting a culture war to reset the dating equilibrium is personally destructive (and counter-productive on the da…

For example, why are most crimes committed by men? Do women take a passive role in crimes? Crime is a subset of bad behavior that includes more violent offenses than verbal or socially manipulative offenses. Gossiping can be as damaging as taking goods by force, but only one is a crime (as it should be). Men more likely to do bad things classified as crimes for evolutionary reasons exaggerated by how society is set up. I would go a step farther and say women are more passive in general and it's …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
