I'm not a fan of Amy Schumer at all but she's not wrong about the trolls. Y'all seem to love to hate her for some reason. I don't get it. "Common sense" is assuming all toilet scenarios are the same and the formula for how much work it takes applies to all scenarios? Where do you live where that is smart? Read one of my other posts for why that isn't the case. Short answer is, though: Common sense would dictate that the most likely scenario is that the person using the toilet is going to sit on it, apart from when the toilet is used mostly by males, and even then this is only if a urinal isn't present.

Usually, there's 2 parts: Seat and lid. Putting the seat down means putting just the seat down, not the lid. Women who complain about this do so because they want to sit down without having to fiddle with the toilet seat/lid at all, and it seems, some are so used to expecting the toilet to be in the right position for them that they sit without looking and either fall in or pee on the lid.
