2	Why People Settle For So-So Relationships I was in one for 4 years (age 19-23). We had quite little sex and almost none in the last year. 2	Desperation Desperate people usually have low self esteem and fear of being abandoned. It would help if you try to work on that. Anxiety associated with fear of being abandoned is our evolutionary reaction, as for us as cavemen isolation meant death.
