It happens because his ego can't take that he's been beaten in that moment, and so has to do something to massage that bruised ego. Like brag about his superpowers. It's entirely in his character to let his ego fuck everything up. If he just let it go, he wouldn't have accidently killed thousands of the people he was meant to protect, but then because he's a sociopath he uses the massacre to further his cause and goals. It has a massive impact on the story and characters going forward, even if h…

Why does that part bother you? It's hubris. He's trying to impress her by being all hard-core and saying "I could make you do anything, even something that would be really out of character", and because of that thousands of people die. If he hadn't been trying to impress, and remained professional, it wouldn't have happened. And then his professionalism returns and he capitalises on his terrible mistake, but hates himself for it. I thought it was one of the best bits of the series.

Tips and advice for fellow travellers. The single best post I've seen on this sub reddit is the guy who recommended buying a slow cooker. I don't need to see a million Facebook memes and posts titled "DAE women suck amirite".

Why do you associate home ownership with marriage?

You couldn't pay me enough to move back home. I moved out at 18 for uni, got my own place at 21, and couldn't be happier. Things get done when I want them to be done, and if I don't want them done at all, it doesn't happen. I go back to visit and my family get under my feet. You can't take it with you, and to have an asset that offers me as much happiness as it does, in addition to being or the few things you can buy that will go up in value, makes it a no brainer to me. Each to there own though…

So you think all actions are transaction, that all sacrifices are transactional in nature?
/r/MGTOW11/05/18 06:21 PM
1

If something is in sacrifice, it isn't done in exchange for something. That's a transaction. If you don't even attempt to explain the "absurdity" of that premise, you just look like a smug fool.

Do you want a conversation? That would require you to contribute something to the conversation. If not I'll just ignore you.
/r/MGTOW11/05/18 05:53 PM

I've no idea what point you're trying to get at. You seem to think that sacrifice requires no choice, which is somehow the same as choosing to sell your labour in exchange for resources. I'm just going to leave it now, you are too consuming to have a coherent conversation with.
/r/MGTOW11/05/18 05:52 PM

And if you choose death as a slave, you aren't making a sacrifice, because you aren't giving anything up. You are making a conscious decision that death is better than living. That's a transactional exchange again, not sacrifice.
/r/MGTOW11/05/18 05:23 PM

You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding both of capitalism and the English language. Even if I were to concede that work isn't a transactional exchange, and that everyone who works is a slave, that doesn't mean what they are doing is a sacrifice. Sacrifice requires choice. Slaves are victims, they can't make a sacrifice.

Irrational selflessness.
/r/MGTOW11/05/18 04:59 PM

Exactly the opposite. Going to work is a transactional exchange, cash for labour

when that community recognizes and appreciates your sacrifice, instead if taking advantage to support its degeneracy That's a transactional exchange, not sacrifice. Sacrifice would be doing something that leaves you worse off, with no expectation of anything in return.

He once said in earlier years that he felt he could never be worthy enough for a woman, considering women superior in every way. In an interview with the Galveston Daily News on 10 August 1924 he stated, "In place of the soft voiced, gentle woman of my reverent worship, has come the woman who thinks that her chief success in life lies in making herself as much as possible like man—in dress, voice and actions, in sports and achievements of every kind ... Although he told a reporter in later years…

Yeah fam, a couple of Jewish doctors armed with semi automatic weapons would have taken down the entire Nazi war machine. What the fuck were the Allies doing with their hundreds of thousand of troops, planes, tanks, munitions etc, they just needed to arm the Jews. Are you simple?

And a store bought assault rifle will stop this? The rifle that the very same roving armed forces of the government allowed you to buy, because they know that you will always be helplessly outgunned? The US government allows its citizens to own firearms to fool then into believing they are free, so they don't question the unmanned drones flying overhead. US citizens are murdered by their own governments agents because they have probable cause to believe they are carrying a firearm. That is tyran…

my government can't possibly be tyrannical because I bought an AR-15 from Walmart. Never mind that they have tanks, nukes, and unmanned drones.
/r/MGTOW01/04/18 09:47 AM

The problem with all of that is escalation. If you have a gun, your police have bigger guns. You buy an even bigger gun, they have an unmanned drive. The American police murder your countrymen with impunity, because they have to assume that everyone is armed, and preemptively act to defend themselves. I would rather forgo having a gun if it means the police over here have no justifiable reason for having one either.

That's forgivable if you've never seen anything good, but speaking about anime with such authority when you only ever saw DBZ as a kid is dumb. Animation has come a long way in 20 years.

You know those scenes in anime where they "power up" and have the endless monologue while hanging in midair? That's Shonen, a specific genre of anime. That's like me dismissing all of cinema because I don't like rom-coms. Steer clear of Dragon Ball and Naruto and you will be fine

You don't need to know that he is "Evil Morty" to know that he is an evil Morty. Especially since "Evil Morty" isn't a character as much as he is setup for future developments. Anyway I don't want to get drawn into a debate about a cartoon, we're all free to like or dislike what we please. I thought season 3 was about as good as the others, some great episodes (the opener, the citadel one, the one where Morty turns into the wolf of Wall Street) and some duds (pickle Rick, the roller coaster one,…

God waits you in his kingdom and watches every second of your life. And what if I don't want anything to so with his kingdom? What if I don't want him watching me? Apparently I don't have any choice. wouldn't a thought that someone is keeping an eye on you a great thing? Absolutely not. Either God watches the suffering in the world with indifference, or he is powerless to stop it. Either way, I want nothing to do with him. He clearly has no morals. And yet according to you I cannot rid myself of…

There was never a "saviour". The whole cast gets so hung up on the idea of a "born" replicant shattering the wall between humans and replicants, but the movie goes out of its way to show how arbitrary that is. She's spent her life in a box living vicariously through holograms. Ks out in the real world making a difference. He needed a push, but that was based on a lie. He always had the ability to live a life worth living, he was just blinded to it.
