Just an FYI tonic has a sugar like substance (that's why it's perfect with a nice botanical like gin) that has a decent amount of calories. Lowest cal spirit you can have is a spirit neat or with soda water or ice.

Pretty much. It's a lose lose. You look through it and find something bad you lose because your ego is shattered and you confirmed your suspicions. In this case when you get the urge to look you should break up and focus on solving your insecurities. Or you find nothing and feel guilty and ashamed for breaking the trust.
