Thanks everyone for the lovely advice. I decided I'm going to make a plan and stick to it (yes I'm list obsessed). I just need to prove to him through actions that I can be a good partner , not just words! Thanks for the kick in the butt!

Really great advice here. I will keep this in mind, and not get hung up in telling him how I will change and instead SHOW him.

Thank you! This definitely gives me hope and I will talk to him about it going forward :)

This made my heart warm up <3 Especially reading about the areas you have worked on to improve (not only externally but internally too)

I read your previous post and am happy that it turned out this well! Your so is awesome for listening to you and shutting her down. I think you handled this very gracefully. The idea of adding her on Facebook showed maturity and a great solution. Going through people's chats secretly is breaking boundaries and usually, if not allows, leads to miscommunication and a further break down of trust. So I congratulate you on reflecting and deciding on a solution that showed you're very open minded, too…

It's cool to read about someone slipping up and then correcting themselves :) I'm doing the same and it's getting easier and easier! I agree with Vigilant on not relying on this too often. Maybe in the future when you notice what you're doing stop yourself right away, apologise and do something special for him! This way, it is positive reinforcement for you to improve, and he gets something positive from it too!

Read my username, pretty sure I'm in the right place ;)

While it can be challenging at times, there is always.something new to learn. Webmastery is a useful skill, I do some design as well. I work in a low stress environment. Besides my bosses its all women, our network admin is in another state. My man is comfortable with my work setting and likes that I am in touch online all day with him. Sounds awesome, you just gave me a good kick in the butt to look more into it n_n thanks

It's something that I feel is important to mention and obviously that's something she would want to know as well. I don't talk down about my ex - are there things that rubbed me the wrong way? Sure there are. But I've grown from it. I think the biggest thing is just having that conversation and being able to show that I'm not resentful, not hung up on it and I don't have some terrible baggage from it. Yes! Sounds like you already know what to do :) I think you seeing it even as a positive, as a …

I think it's always important to be honest, because if later down the line she finds out about the divorce, and it's a deal breaker, then it will turn into hurt feelings. Just wait for a good "in". You should maybe wait until you both talk about your backgrounds, that way it's not brought up out of the blue. Describe the situation just like how you explained in the other comment. Whatever you do, don't talk badly about your ex, just be very mature. You may not do that, but I know many men who do…

I never post a picture of myself! I just look at comments on others posts on how to improve. Yeah thats a good idea!
/r/RedPillWomen10/02/17 04:36 PM

Hmm good point. Often my eyes are so used to my face that there are things that I get so used to, it helps for others to point it out. I may try that on one of the makeup threads, thanks!

Pretty sure my guy is attracted to me in the first place, so that explains why he doesn't have too many drastic opinions on my looks, not because he's just a beta, but ok then...

Well at least you know what you want and have good boundaries! I think that is a really positive attitude to have actually! It just means you have higher standards, so it will take more time to find the special person...but once you do, your'll be so much happier for not just settling down or fucking around with time wasters. Also like others say, its dating, so enjoy the dating while you can! Even if you have a shitty experience, at least it'll be a fun story to tell your girlfriends later :)

I think having a list is important!Opening yourself to all people is a way is the perfect way to waste your time. Don't get me wrong! You can be friends with different people, you can pursue men who have different backgrounds and interests, but in the end of the day, if you have wants and needs that don't get addressed, like he wants to tour all the time and you want your own little house, it's a waste of time. Sure it's fun in the meantime, but during that time you could be dating other men who…

So much I learned on RPW is just common sense tbh

This is abuse, not just red pilling :( You need to put your child as the priority now, and understand that your relationship with him will be the relationship your child will grow up and experience, shaping their future experiences as well. I grew up in a household where there was abuse, and it taught me that toxic relationships was the norm, only until finding RPW am I getting out of that mentality. So please think of your kid before anything else.

Of course I think there are people who legitimately need anti-depressants, but personally I was over medicated to the point where I could not function properly, they made me gain weight, and I actually felt worse. I find this reddit's focus on how there is always hope for improvement AMAZING, instead of just wallowing in my own self hatred with other people enabling me.

I'm creating a list to see what I should work on. You sound like you are on a great roll here. I have issues with being extremely negative, and I also want to plan on dressing more feminine! Good luck :)

I'm going to sound a bit full of myself, but I'm super excited! I am graduating with distinction at a top Canadian university, with a double major in English and Art History! I'm getting a masters of information, and maybe later on do another masters of museum studies. I am in love with museums. Hopefully this will lead into a career in data management, museums, archives or libraries! I am super excited and have such a passion for this, so it's a dream come true I just got into grad school!

Thank you! I am so ready. Honestly, I have been trying to follow self-improvement for a while, but many feminist based self-improvement is not helpful at all. Based on "just eat cupcake in front of a mirror!" mentality. This has been a good kick in the butt and very refreshing.

I am an amazing listener. I love hearing people talk about their passions and getting to know how they tick. I am an amazing baker! I always have had a love for baking, and it really is a great stress reliever. I'm crafty! I enjoy making gifts and cards for friends and loved ones. I am an amazing organizer! I keep things neat and tidy, I also don't mind helping others clean and organize too. I'm fun! I love going out to museums ,films and theatre.

Just found this sub while dealing with the lowest time of my life. I come from a very feminist background, in a very liberal city. I have been so depressed , questioning my identity, and feeling disgusting while totally disregarding my self care. this has been a great place to find.
