At least she was honest that she killed her family for selfish reasons: “I realized I’d be putting them to bed alone every night and then would shut the door and have no one to talk to.” So you kill them? What about every single or widowed parent right now?

Yep, and to put the cherry on top: he cheated on me while I was post partum with our PLANNED baby. So not only did I get cheated on, I also got taken to the cleaners by him.

I had to buy my ex husband out of my house (that I paid the down payment and 3 years of the mortgage for myself), all because I made the grave mistake of putting his name on the house deed.

I thought I’d have to battle my cheating ex husband for our dog, but he didn’t even want him. Our golden retriever we’d had since 8 weeks old. Makes sense since I did 80% of the care for the dog, but I was still shocked that he didn’t even mention him once. I think he wanted his freedom to go party and have one night stands without any responsibility like needing to take care of a dog.

Mine isn’t that conventionally attractive….lol but he’s very charming and put on the Mr Nice Guy persona. Went to my college, had lots of the same friends.

The fact he’s even entertaining the idea is sus. Sounds to me like daddy has a girlfriend now and doesn’t feel like doing dad stuff anymore. Raising young kids is a lot of work, most of the time the mothers take on the majority of it. Divorce forces men to figure it out on their own, way more than they ever would have in a marriage.

That part is weird tbh. How hard is it to Venmo someone $20? Seems like there’s more to the story…

I’m so sorry you went through that as a kid, and again in your marriage. That sounds a lot like narcissism to me, but who knows. My mom is also the “ruler” of the house and controls everything my dad does. She did the same to me and my sister growing up, but my dad was an enabler and let her abuse us. Which is why I grew up expecting “loved ones” to treat me like crap, as if it’s normal.

On the flip side, if you were raised by a narcissist mother - especially as the scapegoat of the family - it’s pretty common to end up in a relationship with a narcissist later in life. That’s what happened to me at least. I’m going to try EMDR therapy to heal because I feel like a fool and worthless for falling for it. Feels like a fog has been lifted since I caught him cheating.

Exactly. My ex-husband was a textbook covert narcissist. Mr. Nice Guy, addicted to Xanax so he always appeared calm and friendly on the outside. Behind closed doors, he was a master manipulator, lied about everything and anything, was cheating consistently before our baby turned 1. Instead of apologizing when I caught him, he doubled down and rewrote history that I was this horrible wife and he felt no choice but to do cocaine and have sex with random women from bars (while I was home breastfeed…

Definitely. The amount of memes I see on FB and Instagram on popular female-focused profiles that glorify partner abuse is insane. I constantly see jokes about going through and destroying a guy's phone if they find stuff they don't like, trashing his apartment or belongings if he does something wrong, ignoring him for days but not telling him why, threatening him with violence to teach him a lesson for "not acting right," etc. Or quotes like "Sorry not sorry for turning into Satan" or some bull…

It's so bizarre to me. If I tagged my boyfriend in this article and commented something like the above, he'd be shocked/embarrassed/hurt. And I'd feel terrible, humiliated, and ashamed. It's so widely accepted that women can abuse their male partners, I just don't understand.

Always amazes me a woman can take so much effort to dress well and be made up. She clearly has hair done, tons of makeup, stylish. Yet when it comes to putting in effort toward personal health, like eating right and exercise, forget about it.

Eh...I've been wasted in Uber's and Lyfts and have never come close to verbally abusing a driver. I've had drivers be creepy, drive poorly, pick up passenger after passenger after passenger on shared rides, etc. Even after a night of heavy drinking, when I'm frustrated during a ride, I've never said anything remotely as offensive as this woman. She should be ashamed and I'm glad it got recorded because she's probably pulled this shit many times before when she wasn't being recorded.

I work in tech in Silicon Valley and am a female. Here are some examples of what I've experienced: Worked on a project with a PM (not from USA, if that matters) who proceeded to ask me out to dinner 4 times after I said I wasn't interested, and he said "I would prefer to go somewhere off campus so you can let your guard down." Guy joined my team and felt the need to share how he had dated 6 women over 2 years at his last company. (This fact was completely unnecessary and not part of any conversa…

There's a Sex and the City episode where Charlotte does that exact thing. She ends up messing up the schedules for two dates and has to abruptly leave one date (she fakes sick). Then while she's on the next date, the date from earlier catches them making out on her front step. First date was bringing her soup for her cold. Needless to say, Miranda learned her lesson...

Maybe it's my Midwestern roots, but when I was in the dating scene, I always offered to split the bill. I never expected it... And even if he insisted on paying (before or after the meal), I'd feel weirdly ashamed and embarrassed if I ordered the most expensive shit on the menu. Who does that?! 😂

I'm not saying it's a good thing to do, but sometimes the fear is warranted. I turned down a guy (we were friends who gamed to begin with) a few years ago because he made me feel uneasy, and he ended up coming to my house and keying my car. He also convinced my roommates nothing was wrong and got into my house while I was at work and took my new kitten as a way to get me to see him. There are scary guys out there...

To be honest, I don't think you did anything wrong. You could have played a little "harder to get," but honestly if she had any feelings for you whatsoever, she would have reciprocated your interest. From the start, she was never into you, but she enjoyed the attention (or she was too nice/scared to let you down by saying she wasn't into you). Regardless, it didn't really matter what you did or said; she didn't have romantic feelings for you ever. I'm a female by the way, and this is how I read …
