I’ve been a parent for 5 years. It’s constant.

Many men (and women) still think that unpaid domestic work is not laborious. I’d take a job over being a stay at home mother any day, but when daycare costs more than my rent, it’s not feasible

That part cracked me up. Like, yes, in the 70’s and 80’s, more women stayed in unhappy marriages because they’d be royally fucked. Now we don’t put up with the bullshit because we can make our own money.

Imagine thinking that a PMC article is a “federal statistic”. They put all sorts of crap on there. It’s certainly an academic paper, but not a “federal statistic”. Women are more likely to initiate divorce because, shockingly, money doesn’t solve all of the issues that arise in a marriage. Weaponized incompetence by men, unequal divides in unpaid domestic labor, disagreements around family planning… just to name a few. Plenty of men are content to keep their wives barefoot and pregnant, knowing …

I don’t do sex work personally but I have friends who have been escorts or OF models at some point in their lives. The vetting process is pretty extreme. But in general, everything is risk/benefit analysis. The nice (“nice”?) part I guess is that they can be selective with their clients. They don’t NEED to accept every guy that hits them up. Also, all of the aforementioned friends used SW to bridge a financial gap, not as a permanent thing. It ends when they’re ready to end it, or if something l…

Did you pull that statistic out of your ass? Also, who the fuck is putting OnlyFans on their resume? Sex work is typically to bridge a gap. Financial difficulties aren’t always permanent.

Because as long as the human race exists, men will pay for sex. Look how many women get stuck as stay at home moms with zero resume experience and then their husbands decide to walk out.

Yeah this is a new thing with the zoomers. They’re too obsessed with ChatGPT and their own physique and parenting requires critical thinking. Plus they can’t cancel their own kids online when they do something that triggers them.

If you’re lucky enough to be healthy. I had high cholesterol and had no idea until I got routine bloodwork at my “useless” physical. I think you fail to realize that being able-bodied is a temporary thing. You could become a C4 paraplegic tomorrow from a car accident. It’s important to take care of our bodies. If my mom, for example, didn’t go to her “useless” physical 2 years ago and show her PCP a weird-looking mole, she would have never gotten a referral to dermatology, which turned into onco…

Preventative healthcare prevents things from turning into an emergency. This is one of the driving factors as to why medical professionals are against Medicaid being slashed, because those costs are then passed onto private health insurance holders. Men are more likely to neglect their health. The grand majority of insurance plans, private or Medicaid, provides a round of routine bloodwork yearly. Men are statistically more likely to die of heart failure. Things like prostate and testicular canc…

Wouldn’t say routinely but in cases of extreme postpartum hemorrhage a hysterectomy is required. It happens in 1-2 out of 1000 deliveries globally.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
