That's what I do, but it's not really open ended like "Stop thinking and come to have a coffee with me" in this thread. I've taught girls with lacking self confidence to say thank you instead of trying to laugh it away when someone calls them beautiful and I do think it's the most honest, humble and direct way to reply without coming off as a moron. However, it would be nice to be a bit flexible. I'm caught off guard and thank you is the only thing coming out.
