These still feel like baby steps in the grand scheme of things, but if it'll get us there, I'll take 'em.

I can work with this, thank you!

Hey, whatever helps you sleep at night. My race is not equal to the ones that have a higher IQ on average. My skin color is ill suited to live in certain environments as compared to others. My leg strength makes me unable to compete with atheletes with better genetics. The list goes on. Life is unfair, we're not equal. But I don't let that get me down or feel like life isn't worth living anymore just because of that. I just do what I can do to be happy. It's easier to do if I don't lie to myself…

> Men and women are equal. I think that's a fairy tale we like to tell ourselves to avoid facing reality, because it makes us feel bad.

No, you can absolutely give purely descriptive statements of inequality without making a normative claim or ascribing words like good / bad / better / worse. You'd have to add context to be able to do so, like saying due to their height, men are better suited for basketball than women. So someone can be better than someone else with respect to something.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/20 01:22 AM

It's probably a better question to ask the reverse, but if you want a very simple and uncontroversial example: height. A more controversial one? Intelligence.

The Disney movie formula of love doesn't actually exist, but everyone thinks it does. From that misconception flow others, especially in regards to what's to be expected in relationships. Harems aren't a form of cheating, but concubines serving another man, is. Men and women aren't equal, so don't expect equal standards - it's unnatural.

Men and women aren't equal. There is no problem with having different standards for either. Of course you're right to criticize the people who believe in this equality but still set differing standards. Those people are hypocrites.

raising kids. We cant have that anymore. I constantly get to hear about the fact that our populations are declining and that it's a bad thing. Germany needs babies, France needs babies, the USA needs babies, Japan needs babies. Japan even has a meme about it involving their president advocating for more babies that's pretty well known. So at best, you can argue that some people agree that we have too many humans. But there's many politicians and average folk who would disagree. I predict raising…

You have never answered a friend or anyone who asked you a hypothetical? You do you, but in that case just make it simple for everyone involved and tell them straight away you don't do hypotheticals. We could've saved ourselves some time.

I agree with your assessment of the situation, but disagree with your conclusion. In my opinion, a return to patriarchy will keep occurring all the same, as it did in the past. It will surely take on a new form thanks to new technology, but sooner or later there has to be a rebalancing of power unless we want collapse to be the permanent status quo. Also, this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xo4l1kXGZhA and the followups to it will certainly interest you.

Monogamy is what makes society stable. That and property rights. Cast it away at your own peril.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/20 02:17 AM

Depends what you mean by justified exactly. Biologically speaking, men are justified in spreading their seed. But in the same vein, women are justified in fucking every high status alpha male and then discarding the last for a better one. If you want a stable society? Men having harems still results in workable societies as can be seen not only in the past, but in harems today. The other way around has inevitably led to chaos and downfall.

I don't think you appreciate my hypothetical, as you keep trying to tie it back to real life scenarios. I want you to look at it in a vacuum, and steelman the position. You have to grant my premises to be true in order to give an answer, else we're talking past each other. Since this is a completely fictional scenario I'm proposing, you have to come along on this journey by accepting as true that: 1) You'd be treated unfairly 2) It would save/benefit humanity as a whole (you need to grant this e…

> But does it benefit the team? Yes. I'm trying to keep it as simple as I can. You have to take it on blind faith that this benefits the team, it's the entire point of the question. It's unfair to you, but you'll save everyone in turn.

Men don't lose attraction when the woman goes barren, they always prefer youth. That means even a 30yo couple will have the man lusting after an 18yo, but that doesn't mean he doesn't love his current partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/20 12:22 AM

Seeing as there are old couples still going strong, the answer seems self-evident.

Just give it a few decades until robotic companionship is normalized and you'll notice a sharp decline in men who off themselves. When advanced sexbots cross the uncanny threshold, I predict men will simply not care that much about bio-relationships at all.

/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/20 05:31 PM

But that's the point. It's completely subjective what someone considers hate. I could judge something as totally neutral while someone else might feel hurt by it. Is the hurt person now justified in downvoting?

This hypothetical can be made as benign as meaning you are not allowed to eat cake on sundays while the rest of humanity can. Would you throw away humanity because you don't have this right anymore?

The only line I disagree with in your entire post is this one > All women have the ability to pick, choose, and reject. There are some really unfortunately ugly women who are essentially suffering the same way most men do in this regard. Very interesting, and perhaps related, is the case of Female to Male trans...formers? A lot of them end up reporting back that they almost immediately notice the extremely skewed dating dynamics when they are chasing after girls while looking like men. The targe…

I want to get a hold of it again as well. Also iirc, the stats were tracking on a per week basis, and M/M couples were having insanely more sex than the other two, with F/F having almost no sex (lesbian bed death is a term sprung from this) and hetero couples being somewhere in between. So this suggests that women would probably want to have less sex, but acquiesce to the men's desires. There might also be other factors at play here, since the stats completely ignored the differing relationship …
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/20 06:20 PM

I remember seeing statistics that tracked how much sex different pairings were having. M/F vs M/M vs F/F. Turns out after breaking the numbers down the male sex drive is about 9.1 times stronger.

I am posing a hypothetical, my question is not based on anything particularly true about our current world. The point is to see whether you would take the hit for the team, _even_ if it's unfair.

You're explicitly not at fault at all, but there's just no other way but to make the sacrifice, or humanity disappears.

A shit test is a woman's subconscious attempts at challenging her partner by attacking his ego. If the man doesn't lose his composure or just simply asserts his superiority, he passes the test. Biologically speaking this is a very important function because it signals and assures that her partner is capable of protecting not only himself but her and the kids. Edit: this is also the reason there is a perception that "women only go for assholes". It's not true, but it's very often true, and for th…

Not a virgin anymore, but yes to the rest. But since men and women aren't equal, it doesn't even matter if I fulfill the standards I have for women. Women should and do have different standards.

Collapsed societies of the past were also doing fine... until they weren't. There are problems on the horizon, it's probably a good idea to at least take a look at what's rolling towards us.

Given that we're on a downward trend as a society, I think it still remains an open question whether it's advantageous or not. So far it feels like the societies that practice this oppression are looking the healthiest. Not by material standards, but demographically.

My hypothetical didn't contain any claims to bring about a utopia, merely maintaining what we already have with all it's imperfections. Neither did it require anyone to act psychopathic or bigoted as the solution. Or do you consider parents to be psychopaths by virtue of them having power over their children?

Well, you can answer for all three cases if you want. 1) You can achieve your goals 2) You can't 3) You don't know your dreams or disability beforehand, so it might be impossible or not, completely random

Last question if you'd like to humor me. If I was about to create existence itself, as we have it now, and I offer you to get born as a child without hearing (or insert any equivalent disability) and take part in this world where most other people are fine, would you rather have no world at all, or this bad deal? Thank you for this back and forth by the way, it's been extremely educating.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 11:12 PM

Tell me if this equivocation sounds off to you, but to me it sounds like you wouldn't want to live as an artist with 9 fingers when everybody else can paint with 10. From my perspective, you should still take the deal and just make do with 9. Or saying it's not worth improving in Chess if you cannot become a grand master, because it's only worth playing if you can go all the way, and playing at lower ranks has no value and everybody should just stop playing instead.

Interesting. I would take this slave position if it means the success of humanity. Mind you women in the oppressive societies generally feel happier than liberated western women. Yes, they have to be obedient and adultery only happens on pain of death. But on the flipside they live fulfilled lives with big families and husbands that provide for them. To you this is so humiliating and unjust that you'd throw our collective lives away?

If we have a scenario where the system is guaranteed to stay that way, then everyone capable of working and contributing to society would have a shot at entering the voting pool. They can then enact similar forms of welfare as we currently have, but it's an automatically balancing system where they cannot just vote themselves other people's money as they please. If they do, and thereby become the recipients of the welfare, they drop out of the voting pool. It's a form of auto-counterbalancing, i…

Certainly, it doesn't matter at all. I'm just trying to get a picture of how society would react if such drastic measures were proposed. Judging by this thread, the kneejerk reaction is to reject and condemn. It's heartening to see that some people can go beyond and honestly think about this question though.

Passive rights mean that you have a right to be a candidate. Active right means that you can vote. I see, that's an interesting concept. Polish politics in particular are very interesting to me, but sadly I have no good English sources to keep up with it in a form that doesn't go through a progressive lens. Janusz Korwin-Mikke must have been the most refreshing politician I have come across in ages. As I understand it he is making room for younger people to take charge in his party. I have a fee…

If we take a look at modern western universities, there is no more space left for wrongthinkers. The individual powers within this institution have a unified ideology that disallows criticism, so that's what I expect would happen with a voting-test board. Sorry to say I don't know what you mean by active/passive voting.

The goverment of Rome collapsing didn't just happen in a vacuum with it's former citizens unaffected. There was blood spilled and the chaos took a while to sort out. To me, that qualifies as a collapse. But maybe we're just arguing semantics?

Consider me impressed. Can't recall ever meeting a man so clear about his relation to a woman, and on top of that having a healthy attitude about it. I wish you well.

Well, which word do you prefer to use for what happened to, say, Rome?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 07:13 PM

Well, actually I have a hunch that this is an especially insidious case you're proposing. Like a one-party-state, there will form a dominant ideological alignment within this institution that will simply erect barriers to all different thinking individuals, leading the voting system to accelerate consolidation of power as though a volatile catalyst had been thrown into the machine. This is very easy for me to imagine happening, but we'd have to wait and see it play out in reality for once to con…

What I mean by role playing patriarchy is that your wife's loyalty is contingent upon your effort or perceived status in the relationship. You can simply dismiss me as a stranger not understanding your unique connection, of course. If you want to understand what I'm talking about in more detail, look for a video entitled "Traditional Relationships...nothing but business and a bottom line." by "bar bar" on youtube or elsewhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 07:02 PM

I fear the initial wave of elected representatives would do a good job only for their successors to begin abusing the power. A pattern seen often enough throughout history in other areas of governance.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:53 PM
1

It sounds to me like you are role-playing patriarchy, but keeping it light hearted. I guess that can be made to work, too.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:43 PM
2

There are no goalposts to move as I am asking for opinions, there is no "right" answer. After you gave your perspective, I simply readjusted my line of questioning because you made me curious. My utopian society (which we of course will never reach, this is just something I dream of) would only allow net tax payers to vote. It sounds very just to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:40 PM
1

In your case I would simply restate the question but reduce the scope to exactly those people you care about. Would you be 2nd class household member if it meant your neighborhood/community/family got to survive?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:28 PM
1

A very good question. I wouldn't, but I think what I'm rather interested in is whether I would lock myself in a cage so my family can be free. Which is a lot more difficult to answer, and although I'd like to say yes, I admit I'd have to ponder for a while.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:22 PM
1

But for your ideal this would mean a never ending cycle of hope for the individual being built up, only to collapse into ruin. Are you fine with that?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:21 PM
1

I phrased it this way on purpose, and different people will come away with different interpretations here, which is not a bad thing to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:19 PM
1

I'm just asking what you would do if it were actually the case. It's also not necessarily tied to genders (sexes?), but can be replaced with any differing attributes like religion, race, hair color, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:17 PM
2

I'd like to pose the same but modified hypothetical to you in that case: What if it turned out that empowering individuals at the expense of familial structures invariably lead to the downfall of those societies?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:13 PM
1

So all societies of the past are worthless to you and should never have progressed to give rise to our current ones?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:10 PM
2

I also flirted with this idea, but couldn't solve the problem of who gets to decide how the testing is done. Do you know of any countries that implemented this idea?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:08 PM
1

I agree with your ideals, but we have to keep in mind that the individual is not as important to the continuation of societies (any) as families are. No family, no individual.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:05 PM
1

Fair enough. You thought about it seriously, which is all I can ask of someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:02 PM
3

Thank you for the suggestion. Will take a look.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 06:01 PM
5

It's actually not quite as bad as people think. Imagine a scenario where only land-owners can vote. Most people are excluded from deciding the destiny of their country, but that doesn't mean their life is terrible because of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 05:50 PM
1

I agree.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 05:47 PM
1

I want to hear both sides, that's why I asked for both scenarios. I don't hold a strong opinion on it either way, since I don't believe we can change human nature and are therefore predestined for what's coming regardless of whether or not we change the society at this point.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 05:45 PM
1

Well okay, what if the choices on offer were either this form of collapse or extinction?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 05:42 PM

Take a look through the replies I gave to others, if you have any suggestions on how to make it even less confusing to people, I'm all ears.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 05:40 PM
2

That's good, because answers that don't understand what I'm asking aren't worth anything to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 05:38 PM
2

What if it was the olden days, tribe vs tribe? Would you sacrifice to ensure your tribe (or DNA, if you will) survives?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 05:20 PM
1

I'm asking mainly to gauge the general reaction people would have, so you can pick and choose how severe you would like the hypothetical to be. Would you do it if the safety of your family was guaranteed? Would you do it if it wasn't?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 05:18 PM
-2

You would throw society as a whole under the bus, even if the only drawback for you would be that you can't vote anymore? I think criminals in a lot of countries face this reality, and even they wouldn't.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 05:10 PM
2

Well, another way to phrase the hypothetical is to say humanity gets wiped out unless you take a hit for the team. I would personally let myself suffer some serious injury if it means sustaining our species.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/20 05:06 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
