I once did an exercise like this in san francisco on my way to work. A gay dude thought i was for sure coming onto him and like followed me for 3 blocks telling me how beautiful i was. it was a nice ego stroking, but it sucked when he wouldn't go away after a while. super awkward.

I've seen these marketed before as like BDSM gear for relationships in which men favor the submissive role. it's like the same idea as a chastity belt

yeah dogg. people like to feel connected to each other. We feel connected when we see our experience reflected in that of other people. It makes us excited and comfortable at the same time when we identify with the experience of others and feel that others identify with our experience. When we taste it, we hustle to get more. I cant give you particular stories with good outcomes. But yes, this is a big part of how I relate with other people.

try this: you ask your question. they respond. you find something in their response that you relate to and say something like "Ah! I know that feeling!" and maybe say when you felt it. if they are silent after that maybe follow with a quick "d'yaknow what I mean?"

way too much thinking. go open more sets. edit: and when you open em see if you can remember to always be escalating. but if not, no big deal. just keep opening sets.

you shouldn't be doing anything gimicky long enough to get called out. Attraction gets built in mere seconds. you should have escalated to talking about something meaningful long before anyone thought to call you on running material. This is still human-to-human social contact: you should be primarily interacting with these people as though they were people with interest and passions like yours who are interested in finding out about yours and sharing theirs.

nothing is set in stone. my buddy was the image of an introvert. He even took the Meyers-Briggs prior to engaging fieldwork and has the score to prove his natural tendency toward introversion. 5 years of work later and he is an extrovert (again corroborated by a Meyers-Briggs score). human brains and minds are exceptional for their plasticity. experience reshapes them.

the goal is to talk about something that inspires great emotion in her -- perhaps a cause she's passionate about or a dream of hers. In order to do this, though, you need to find out what it is that inspires her. I frequently ask point-blank what she's passionate about and why. it shouldn't be the first thing out of your mouth (if she isn't a little bit attracted to you and comfortable with you, she might feel like you're violating her boundaries), but you can usually go there sooner than you th…

no you for sure have to do it at the beginning of college, not the end. it's really better advice for people in high school than people in college.

suit yourself. not pledging is one of my biggest regrets from college -- and not just for the quantity of sex with babes. but if money's a big issue, i understand. frat dues are certainly prohibitively expensive for many.

college protip: join a fraternity. know a handful of girls at every sorority. party with them all all the time in closed parties where it is just your frat and their sorority. the greek system is just a front for organized sex.

seriously though really seriously pledge a frat. i cannot emphasize this enough. ideally go with the one that hazes the hardest. the value of this piece of advice cannot be overstated.

seriously, you are over thinking this in a big way. which is normal since you don't know what college is like. but trust me when i tell you that it's nothing like what you expect. you have no frame of reference by which to anticipate what you are about to experience. so just relax, and be prepared to be flexible. look at what works and what doesn't, and don't worry about your history. college is a whole different ballgame. IF I COULD GO BACK AND DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN I WOULD 1) pledge a frat. ser…

dude i'm right there with ya. that's a great description of how my comfort zone feels. We're very similar people. And i think there's some value to conversations like this one, but all real progress comes from getting out there, opening sets, and giving it a try. it's better to be bombing every single set for 30 mins than to analyze for 2 hours. Analysis has it's time and place, but progress happens in conversations.

honestly, as you get better at it you can worry about fine distinctions like the difference between controlling her frame and letting her control yours. If it's a sticking point, the conventional wisdom is to go really big. Start out by trying to completely control the frame of the interaction. once you get a handle on that, you'll start to be able to use personal judgement as to when it might be appropriate to ease up and let her have her frame while you have yours instead of autocratically for…

honestly, you could make this work, but it failed for you because you deviated from your fundamentals. your first reaction was to get defensive after you got responses. in your defensiveness you reframed the interaction in a way that ceded any social power you brought into the interaction. If you stuck with the original framing no matter what her reaction was, you would have been in a much stronger position. Your initial frame was actually really strong. It had a few things going for it: 1) it w…

This happened to me a lot of times in my early career as a fucksmith. I couldn't hold an erection or even get one sometimes for the first few go rounds with any given chick. Im pretty sure this is normal. For me it totally got better after I had been around the block a few times (5-7 times?). It really helps if there are like a dozen+ hours of social contact spread across a few distinct hang-outs between first meeting and penetration. Then she actually likes you and will be patient and gracefull…

Brah, I think you miss the point of the quip. "Be yourself" means be confident and uninhibited in expressing your needs, wants, distastes, comfort boundaries, feelings, and standards throughout your language, intonation, body language, facial expressions, and metacommunicative structures. Its really an unoperationalized statement of something like "have inner game". It's not bad advice at all. In fact its central to the entire process. But because it doesn't spell out the procedure it can be eas…

rule about not dating coworkers is stupid -- the rule is no hooking up with coworkers; dating is WAY less complicated than FWB. stop wanting the FWB thing and just date her, pussy. it is the least complicated and most chill option you have at this point. maybe if you put some effort into the relationship you'll discover that she's better than just "cute and all". alternatively you could quit your job and change your phone number.
