Bruh it’s very obvious when someone says “downright feminist” that they’re not open minded and will almost definitely be on the wrong side of history, at least in this topic. Again with the assumptions of my sex and age, demeaning me through them, only reason I used ok boomer. My point is basically that you are obviously very stubborn and this conversation has nothing that could come from it as we do not respect each other’s views. Also I do not have any teachings, I will not tell you to be prog…

I feel justified in saying this since your immediate course of action to discredit my opinion was to go for my age, and my points are like a tomato on a brick wall: ok boomer

Woof I’m very sorry you couldn’t find a good therapist. I initially was very skeptical that toxic masculinity was even a thing but I’ve just seen it a lot, my interpretation of it at least. I don’t know what “the rest of the world” is given that I don’t know where you’re from, but I’d like to point out that most of the world is not progressive with things like equal rights or prioritizing mental health. I don’t see exactly how male life is a “free for all” but I don’t expect to. Did a little goo…

Because of toxic masculinity! People do care about men, women have only really felt cared about for like a century and the shelters and shit for women are very important. I know that statistically men go to therapy less and seek help in general less, I would say that’s because of conditioning from society that says men don’t need help. You said young boys should be told to toughen up? I don’t see why you need shelters or financial help when you can just toughen up? Edit just to make sure you kno…

Hmm, sounds like the exact reason men’s suicide rates are higher.

Can someone please explain this? Toxic masculinity by the definition I know it is men feeling like they can’t express emotion/show weakness due to feeling like they’ve lost part of their masculinity. I’ve seen it come through in men feeling insecure surrounding things that don’t have to do with masculinity (height, income, virgin status) do people really think that it has anything to do with the gender of the person carrying on toxic ideas as to what is masculine? Is my definition wrong ?

I thought 1st and even 2nd wave were about equality (correct me if I’m wrong). Women were discouraged from doing “men’s work” and shit yknow. Marital rape was rampant, and non marital, and it wasn’t seen as rape. I have to agree with the idea that 3rd wave feminism isn’t about equality, it’s about preferential treatment and making men “pay” for what their ancestors did to women.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
