The problem with the nuclear family set up is that it's so inflexible. If one parent gets sick, it throws a huge monkey wrench into the family's day to day. I admire how my friend and coworkers from India have a network of extended family support to help take pressure off the parents. It just makes so much sense.

Maybe because the lower SMV is often a more reliable predictor of a male who will invest more (than the ripped gym bunny).

So the way I see it is this is all part of the same system of a gendered society. We have and we enforce gender norms because they consistently lead to producing new generations of humans who will move the species forward in time. Basically, the entire "problem" is that we're ultimately just animals, just another kind of primate. One of the important lessons girls and boys get when they're being trained to act however is considered appropriate for their gender is degree of control of oneself and…

Are there DV orgs run by and for men? Because to me that seems like the best solution to have people who empathize and also have less likelihood of automatically associating other men in general with their abuser.

If someone's only approaching women for the purpose of putting their penis in the woman's orifices, then the chances of coming off as creepy skyrocket. What I'm saying is a good pick up artist should be skilled in chatting up anyone, with no ulterior motives like sex, money, influence, etc. It's pretty easy to tell when someone wants something from you but has nothing to give in return. Dudes with novice game are the equivalent of the panhandlers who use the gas can story (my car's out of gas, g…

Unless you're doing something odd or you live in an area where people are highly untrusting due to threats in the area, most people aren't going to be pissed about being spoken to. A fair amount will be glad someone even bothered to engage with them. Most won't really feel one way or another about it. I'm curious though. Do you get angry when someone tries talking with you?

Negging in the context of non-sexual relationships are almost always a sign of insecurity. Is it a bad thing? I don't know. It can be effective though. If someone else is kicked beneath you, that rises you up.

Also possibly forcing her sexuality into something that's unnatural for her is kind of a red flag for the future of their relationship. Maybe she really is attracted to this guy, but I have just heard too many stories of heartbroken men whose gay wives eventually divorced them and the years of loss the women felt in repressing their sexuality.

You're comparing yourself to people at the top of the social caste in the US. Remember compared to most Americans, you're already far ahead of most just by being in an Ivy League.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
