Ok maybe not weight but maybe a body type and a fitness level
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 11:07 PM

Exactly. And some people are going to lie regardless. A lot of guys lie about their height, especially if it’s only a couple inches. But a lot of people don’t because if they actually plan on meeting, they’re going to come off as liars/fake. So it would at least reduce the number of people you have to go through to find a good match.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 10:50 PM

You really think women would stop using the apps if there was an optional body type field?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 07:26 PM

If you filter on height you won’t even be shown the user’s profile. That should be possible based on body type as well imo.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 07:17 PM

Then require people to add their height. If you filter on height you won’t even be shown the user’s profile. That should be possible based on body type as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 07:16 PM

It’s not about it being a perfect catch-all. It’s about improving the quality of matches. People can still lie or be catfishes. But there would at least be an improvement imo.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 07:10 PM

No doubt. It wouldn’t be perfect, but it would at least help imo.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 07:08 PM

I think you’re being a bit dramatic. If you can filter by ethnicity, what’s really the difference between that and other physical traits?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 06:44 PM

I mean if you’re looking for someone who’s active and Tyson fury shows up, he would fit the bill. Doesn’t matter what body shape they are, they’re still likely to be a good match. So I think both categories would be a good thing to add, the main reason being it would save you time. No need to swipe through a ton of accounts that you have no interest matching with.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 06:34 PM

It’s more about not having to swipe left on a ton of accounts that don’t fit what you’re looking for. Same reason there’s an age range, ethnicity filter, religion filter, etc.

I partially agree with this but like everything there’s a balance. Plenty of men fail because they take too much risk and fail to learn from them.

Same, Im Latino and I haven’t either. My last gf was mixed, white and black, but it just so happened she had a similar skin tone as me lol.

I’ll give you that, there’s definitely a shorter timeframe for deciding to have kids and as a guy with no kids I do filter out any women with kids

For us it was about writing down what we weren’t happy with in our relationship and then talking about it. Making a plan to address those things. For a while some of the things got better but then they went back to how they were. It just felt like if we couldn’t fix them and we were putting in all of our effort then they were never going to be fixed. I mean it depends. I feel like I don’t have the energy for it that I once did. Some dates I really want to cancel because I wonder if it will be wo…

Yeah I think what you said is important to keep in mind, “the grass isn’t greener”. I knew if I broke up with her because I wanted to see what was out there it was going to be something I regretted. So I gave it my all trying to right the ship. There were times where it felt like we could get back on track but ultimately it just didn’t work and I think we both knew we were no longer happy.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 03:59 AM

Yeah that could be possible. It’s definitely not a huge boost though. I’ve traveled with some white friends to a couple places in Latin America and they would get a crazy amount of matches and attention lol.

Oh man, I’ve known her for 10 years now. We started hooking up pretty early on but weren’t actually official for a while and then there were also the breaks we took. But I’d say probably a solid 6 years altogether. It’s tough man. I really thought she was the one. But somewhere down the line we just started growing apart and there came a point where it just felt like there were too many differences between us. I think part of me still feels like I’ll never find what we had at one point but it wa…

Yeah I think that’s a fair take. What do you think you are struggling the most with? Finding any dates at all? Finding dates you think are actually compatible with? Struggling taking it further than a couple dates?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 01:21 AM

Exactly. Some of these people act like personal growth is a bad thing. I feel like when I was younger I was just looking for a trophy wife not realizing how big of a mistake that is.

I’d be lying if I said I haven’t made similar changes. Used to really care about a lot of superficial stuff, how they dressed, whether their hair and nails were done, how good they looked in their ig pictures. I’m happy to say that stuff really doesn’t matter to me anymore. I still have to be attracted to them but I care way more about whether they have similar ambitions, whether they’re a good person, or that we can have great conversations.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 01:09 AM
2

Honestly, the last part you mention is more of a read on my end. It just seems like they’re less likely to be pursuing something superficial. For a moment in my early 20s it felt like all girls cared about was being able to post about their amazing life on instagram.

I’m curious, where do you live? I was in nyc for a bit and that was crazy. All the dating apps were hit or miss. Meeting a random person was pretty easy but actually finding something long term was so much work. Now that I’m in Colorado, I feel like there are a lot more women who are actually looking for something meaningful.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/23 12:04 AM

Trust me, I’m not some crazy good looking person and I’m far from wealthy. I’d say I’m pretty average or maybe a bit above average in both categories

For me, hinge has been a godsend. Paying for the premium version has been totally worth it. Gives you a ton of filters you can apply that really let’s you sift through people that are incompatible. It has been way more effort getting out there irl but it’s been worth it to improve my social skills. It’s true that their standards are higher but that also means you have less competition as long as you have something to offer as well. From what I’ve seen all these standards are things that I alread…

Yeah and don’t get me wrong, there are definitely still a lot of women out there that just want some good looking dude with no personality, especially when they’re young, but usually these women are not good match for someone who wants something deeper. And it’s not even about coming off empathetic it’s about actually being able to empathize. Being able to relate. Being able to understand what people like, what they find funny, what they find interesting. If you actually care about the people in…

I actually agree with this op but also think guys need to stop being pussies in the sense that they think they have nothing to offer. You don’t need to be some model-looking dude to be attractive to women. There are certain things you can do to improve how people perceive you, the main one being improving your social skills. That includes being able to tell when a girl isn’t into you and not making a fool of yourself trying to impress someone that shows zero interest. Everyone has quality traits…

You nailed it. Once the honeymoon phase ends they start picking up on a lot of these things. I will say I think us guys can act similarly. Once the novelty of a new relationship wears off it’s easy to get too comfortable.

Not really because not everyone cares for those things. I’ll gladly pay for dates if I like a girl and feel like she actually likes me. I’m also not waiting for 2 months unless I’m also dating other people. Girls actually like sex too so I doubt they really want to wait that long either. Best relationships I’ve had were people I hooked up with early on and that turned into something else a while later.

/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/23 07:46 PM

Because i don’t like dating people where it feels like I’m putting in more effort in the conversation. I might be missing out on a few more dates but imo the returns are usually not worth the extra effort when there are people out there that match my energy. I didn’t say this was female-specific behavior. Some of my guy friends are like this but I know them well enough to know the reason why. Some of them just don’t like texting and some of them are just bad at communicating. I asked the questio…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/23 07:38 PM

While dating, I’ve only met a couple of these kinds of people. I suppose maybe I’ve met more as acquaintances but I chose to not to interact with them more because of this. But yeah, one stands out to me because she was super attractive and she was actually into me but I just couldn’t get past how boring she was. Yeah honestly what you said at the end there sounds very likely. I’ve only met a few girls irl where even though I knew they were interested irl I felt like I had to drag the conversation out of them, so I feel like they’re not really interested but just don’t want to not respond for some reason

I think it’s just frustration that guys aren’t going for women their age. I feel like I related to it a lot when I was 16-20 and seeing a lot of women that age go for guys older than them. I can see why they would be frustrated too. A lot of guys that are older and date young women haven’t really matured. They’re going after these girls to satisfy their lust. But at the end of the day, there’s nothing people can do to change that. It’s the same as really hot girls going after guys with status. A…

Absolutely. But the main thing that I’ve found makes a difference in the attention you get is to wear things that make you look good. It doesn’t have to be designer/expensive. It doesn’t have to be something flashy. It has to look good for the proper occasion, it has to fit well on you and it has to be the right outfit for you. Some situations sweat pants and any shirt are fine and if you get the right ones you’ll look good in them. Other times you have to dress fancy. Doesn’t mean you have to w…

Is there actually any evidence that women are starting to out-earn men? I agree with the education/corporate jobs part but I think you’re forgetting there are still a lot of high earning blue collar jobs that imo are going to be in high demand forever. That and the fact certain high earning industries like tech, sales & finance are still incredibly dominated by men. I could be wrong but my bet is that women will never out-earn men. I do think we might get closer to even.

I’m not saying people should date down. No one should feel like they are “settling” and if they can’t find someone who meets their needs they shouldn’t feel bad about being single. I’m just giving my thoughts on some people’s expectations and why they struggle finding someone. It’s up to a person to decide what they’re willing to compromise on and what they’re not.

It’s a lot easier to do in a group setting so if you can find a friend or group to go with. But going solo can be better than not going, so in that case it depends on the setting. At some bars, it’s common for people to just sit at the bar order some food and shoot the shit with the other people sitting there. There’s also bar crawls that are perfect for meeting other people. For stuff like concerts and shows sometimes there will be people carpooling or they’ll have buses to it that are great fo…

I think your best bet is to try to find a way to be more social so you can practice/improve your social skills. Imo that’s the number one thing that will completely tank a guy. You can be average or above average looking but if you can’t talk to people you’re going get passed up on a lot. My other suggestion is figure out a way to hang out in social settings where people are looking to meet others. From what I’ve seen in my friend groups. Guys aren’t likely to be friends with someone they don’t find attractive while they’re single (whether we realize it or not). Girls have no problem being friends with someone they’re not attracted to. So guys all of a sudden realize this friend is actually cool and they are attractive and so they fall for her. Girls find out this friend is actually cool but there may not be an attraction and so it never happens.

Damn, I’m surprised 6’2 is the cut off for you. 3” doesn’t seem like much of a height difference. I tend to do way better with girls around your height and always assumed that it was because the dating pool with guys taller than that was a lot smaller.

I agree that most guys and girls aren’t going to have some miraculous transformation. But some women are attracted to older men and that’s just a fact. I know plenty of friends both close and casual that have crushes on an older guy. I knew a girl in college who was sleeping with a guy in his 50s. He had money but he wasn’t crazy rich and maybe his money played a part in it but she was clearly attracted to him because she had a lot of people interested in her. Your facial structure and overall aesthetic probably changed. I’m not bald but I also have never had a great hairline. When I was in my early 20s I rocked a buzz cut and it didn’t look good at all. I switched it to longer on top and faded on the sides and that looked way better. As I’ve started losing hair I’ve started rocking the “older guy” cut where it’s combed back/to the side but not covering the corners of my head so it doesn’t look like I’m trying to hide my hairline. I think the lamest thing about people who listen to these guys is that they can’t think for themselves. They need someone to tell them how to act, how to behave and worst of all, how to think. Now don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong with hearing people’s perspectives on life and learning from other’s experiences but people who make their life decisions off what some guy on YouTube tells them they should do, are completely lost. You have a mentality that most people aren’t going to be ok with. Most people are content with making decent money and being able to enjoy that money without having to overwork themselves. I think it’s fair for you to expect your partner to have the same mindset as you but it pretty much explains why you think women are the way you think they are.

Yeah for sure. There’s something about having someone who understands what you might be going through or have gone through that is tough to beat. Absolutely and I think it takes some life experience to really understand this. I dated one girl early on who really put me through some things and honestly I think traumatized me. She was really controlling and manipulative and it took me a long time to trust anyone who showed any sort of similar behavior.

“Ive seen good looking, personable and successful men struggle to get average woman’s attention.” People say this a lot but I really don’t think it’s true. As someone who has a pretty large social circle and who gets to watch a lot of people interact and date I’d say if you meet that criteria you have a really good chance of finding someone who is also looking for the same thing. I think the problem lies in people fixating on certain people and getting disappointed when that person doesn’t want …

Lol bro you cited an article by some incel misconstruing tax data in New Zealand. That data is in no way representative of the state of the US today. And worst of all it actually highlights that women don’t get paid as much as men. The more money you make the more taxes you pay. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to figure that out lmao.

No shit but this is what people in these subs don’t get. “Most”. That means there are exceptions. If a woman doesn’t like to clean and shit that shouldn’t be an issue. If a man doesn’t like to fix cars and shit that should be fine too.

I find it extremely Interesting that people think that a few very generic theories can explain the problems in society. In my opinion if you buy into either the red pill or blue pill theories you’re admitting to the world that you’re easily persuaded and cannot think for yourself and therefore resort to blaming your problems on other people.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/21 02:05 AM

Lol the thing is that it’s not like this. We have a large chunk of men who are perverts and do treat women like shit. And a huge chunk of women who take offense to everything that could possibly be offensive. Most people are good people though and we need to get comfortable calling out the shitty people on both sides in order for things to get better.
