Single Dads and DatingThanks for the honesty mate. Again, I'm just trying to figure all of this out and I AM actually reading. I haven't been able yet to put any of it into practice but regardless of what you or anyone else thinks, I'm taking advice from all of you and am going to try and make application of it as soon as I can. I'm not looking for your sympathy about my wife. That's shit that I can't control. For one, I'll stop looking for an LTR, try to focus more on me, and not focus so much on the semantics of da… | /r/askTRP | 06/08/16 09:13 PM
Single Dads and DatingI'm not exactly posting here to make sure your dick stays up mate. How else am I supposed to describe my situation to you lot? It's not like I just go around to women trying to tell them my sob story. "Woe is me. I'm a widowed father." That's not what I do in the presence of women. But unlike you, I'm not satisfied with a ONS. I've done plenty of that before meeting my wife and it left me feeling empty more often than not because I yearn moreso for common ground, intellectual conversation, under… | /r/askTRP | 06/08/16 08:29 PM
Single Dads and DatingI'm sorry my approach and thinking isn't "masculine" enough for you. I lift about 4 nights out of the week. Cardio for 30 min. Focus on different muscle groups for about an hour after that. Not sure where my progress stands physically but I feel better each night after I do all that and I've got much more energy than I've had in years. My life's mission is just to be happy I suppose, and whether or not that desired end includes someone else or not is something I'm trying to determine right now. … | /r/askTRP | 06/08/16 07:21 PM
Single Dads and DatingI thought I'd answered the question of "Why do you think you need one?" quite thoroughly. As far as whether or not I lift, I started a couple of months ago. Not sure if you'd count that as perhaps that's not to your standards? | /r/askTRP | 06/08/16 05:52 PM
Single Dads and DatingReally appreciate this. Trying to soak all of this in. I'll pick up that book straightway. Thanks! | /r/askTRP | 06/08/16 05:49 PM
Single Dads and DatingGood point. I'm not. I've heard different amounts of time from different people. Some say it's different for every situation. Some say it should take the same amount of time as you had a relationship together, etc, etc. What brought you to the number of 2 years? Just curious about your perspective is all. | /r/askTRP | 06/08/16 05:48 PM

Single Dads and DatingThanks for the advice mate. I guess I needa get working on mine. lol | /r/askTRP | 05/08/16 10:19 PM
Single Dads and DatingVery on point with how I'm feeling right now. I completely understand and agree with not introducing my daughter to alot of different women. I just want to start dating again but am kind of at a loss for how to really go about that and meet the desired end I'm looking for. And really, it's all been just that: me trying to find a solid woman my daughter could look up to. I realize now from everyone's comments that I'm approaching it all wrong. I like that advice: "just date." I suppose I shouldn'… | /r/askTRP | 05/08/16 10:11 PM
Single Dads and DatingI get your point. I am focusing on all of that despite my neglect to mention thus. I recently joined a gym and started running and lifting and that's been about a month or so now. My daughter's going through alot of therapies and is about to start going to a preschool throughout the week so she can be with other kids her age (I work from home and I'm sure she can get a bit bored being around just me all the time). I guess I just feel the need to fill that void and ideally would love to do so bef… | /r/askTRP | 05/08/16 09:15 PM
Single Dads and DatingAh...I see your point. I don't I guess I NEED one so much as I feel I want to recapture what I had with my wife and continue on with life with the picturesque plans I had envisioned with her beforehand, but obviously I can't just place someone in there like that. It's just a weird feeling transitioning to having someone who filled all of those needs/wants of love, support, understanding, etc. to suddenly not having any of that at all. I understand the answer in your question, I guess is what I'm… | /r/askTRP | 05/08/16 09:09 PM
Single Dads and DatingI'm actually curious to hear more on your view of why I should "stop looking for ltr" Care to elaborate? | /r/askTRP | 05/08/16 02:14 PM
Single Dads and DatingThanks man. Just to clarify, it's not like online dating is my preferred route. I'm a very sociable person, but my time is rather limited with having a kid. I don't blame my daughter or anything, but it's not like I can go out every night or even every weekend either. I guess that just means I should be a bit more focused at social events I AM actually able to attend. I've considered the 'baggage' and I realize that's quite a hurdle for any woman to get over, whether they have kids or not. Appre… | /r/askTRP | 05/08/16 02:13 PM
