Having both headphones on/in while in public is literally a sign for “Do not talk to me” 🤦‍♀️ This applies to all genders, not just women.

I’m not sure you understand what “hurt” means. It is not required to have feelings for someone in order to be hurt. Feeling rejected or disappointed can count as hurt.

That’s not because of power that’s because of safety. You should read my other post in this thread

That's a good question. I'm going to answer this from my perspective with things I've heard from other women. Most of this is treating women like people. I'd guess that the things I'm recommending you already do with your friends. These recommendations aren't new concepts. I also have to leave soon so I'll probably respond with a part 2 later. Disclaimers: Please don't make a woman feel safe and then take advantage of her. This is in good faith to help understand our perspective. This isn't mean…

I’m going to stop you there. Guys that genuinely value women don’t get upset being “friend zoned” because they value women as people and value their friendship Edit: I have no idea what the blue cap means.

This is 98% false. There probably are some women who do view it as a power thing but I don’t know a single one who does. Please don’t listen to this advice and read other posts in this thread.

Based on everything you wrote I’m going to assume you’re going to disagree with me. And you’re welcome too. But sorry bud, this isn’t true. You used the “phrase alpha.” That’s not a thing women talk about. Women are not all the same. We’re different people with thoughts, feelings, dreams, goals, etc. All people regardless of gender are motivated by different things. There might be some women motivated by money or looks but it is not all of them. What most women want are partners that will put in…

I agree with IamaThrowAway. Women are often treated like fleshlights— we have more to offer than just sex. Women are people. All people are a fully fleshed out with preferences and dreams. I sort know any women who will have sex with someone who doesn’t understand that. The biggest turn off is when a dude that treats a woman solely like an object that they are entitled to put their dick into. If someone only cares about sex and not what they’re fucking, that’s the perfect use of a sex toy like a…

Before I begin, women are people— we’re not all the same. Some women are okay with being told something like “I think you’re hot, let’s go back to my place.” Most femme people don’t love super vulgar language. I think the answer to your question is safety. I’m 5’1 and weigh 105lbs. I don’t know if someone I just met is physically safe to be around. I don’t know if they’ll respect my “No”. I don’t know their intentions, yes they might want a one night stand, or they might be involved in sex traff…

It’s pretty crappy that she initiated and then kept saying No. Maybe try asking something like “When is good for you?” That puts the ball back in her court. I definitely get nervous about meeting people too soon. “Too soon” for me means before I feel safe meeting up with them. That said, I would not suggest meeting up if I wasn’t ready for that.

Talk to her like you would your guy friends. That should help take some of the pressure off you trying to figure out how to talk to her. Women are people and we carry conversations similarly to men. I’d not look at it as “seducing” (I know that this is the r/seduction subreddit), but more someone that you’re getting to know. There are things you want to know about your friends / people you care about. In terms of keeping the conversation going, I’d recommend asking open-ended questions. That wil…

I’m also a woman that has more guy friends. I grew up with a twin brother. Growing up, I’d play with him and became a Tom-boy. As an adult I’m more femme but still prefer hanging out with guys. I dislike the idea that I’d hang out with guys “as a back up,” when really it was my normal for 18 years. Similarly, if a guy grows up around girls/women, they’re often more comfortable women than men.

It’s about physical touch not being in your comfort zone. I have issues with letting people in my personal bubble. I like touch but I have to really trust the person before I let them that close to me. It’s important to recognize that this is how you are. If you want to change that’s awesome. If you’re okay with it, that’s also awesome. You are who you are. I’d also think about why you dislike it. Is it simply because you’re not used to it? Is it because you feel like you don’t deserve it? Do yo…

I was trying to be supportive of OP, not start a discussion about me being safe if I'm by myself simply because I'm a woman. Being empathetic and understanding that scenarios can be scarier if you are at a physical disadvantage is worth pointing out. I do understand that an assault and/or mugging can occur to anyone no matter their gender. Secondly, no offense, but that is terrible advice. - Depending on where you live, that is super illegal. - A submachine gun is just a full-auto shoulder fired…

I didn't watch your video, but as a woman I 100% agree. I feel way more comfortable being approached when I'm in a group than when I'm alone. I even feel more comfortable if I'm alone being approached in a public setting than by myself. I'm 5'1 and weigh 95lbs. The number of men that have approached me while I'm by myself in a parking lot is way higher than it should be. I always feel super uncomfortable and like I have no way to defend myself if something were to go wrong. Thanks for sharing th…

I do understand why men aren't thrilled with feminism. Aside from posting on here, I wish there was more that I could do about it. It makes me sad that some shitty people had to ruin it for everyone. Feminism is about equality. It isn't just about women gaining rights, but also men. Some ways that feminism has helped men One of the issues with feminism is the name itself, much like global warming. Global warming makes it sound like the world is magically getting hotter & there is nothing we can …

There are obviously women who go around saying that women are better than men, or bash men & call it feminism. They are not actually feminists. They are extremists ruining it for everyone. If I ever met one in real life I would say something b/c they're making everyones' lives worse. The Oxford Dictionary's definition of feminism: "is the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes." Wikipedia's first paragraph describing feminism: Feminism is a range of social movements…

My boyfriend doesn’t like to cook. I’m totally okay with that. He can. My point is more that I do not expect him to. So often women unfairly expect men to pay for everything. I offer to pay because we both work hard for our money and I don’t feel obligated to his. If he wants to pay for us, then I’ll gladly let him and thank him. It’s more about making sure he has a choice and not feeling like it’s an obligation. Does that make sense?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/20 03:50 PM

I’m on mobile, so please excuse my formatting. The statement that I offer to pay does not imply that I think the guy should never pay. Any relationship (friendship or romantic) should be grounded in communication. I offer to pay so that it is a discussion— something we talk about. With my current partner I pay about 50% of the time. My previous partner, who I lived with, paid the majority of the time when we went out on dates to get credit card points. In return I’d buy groceries. I don’t date s…

True feminism is supposed to be equality. Feminism is not supposed to be women are better than men.

As a feminist woman, this thread makes me sad. I’m the type of person that is for equality. I don’t care what gender someone is— just treat everyone equally. If I go on a date, the man is not expected to pay. I believe that we’re equal so I should split it or offer to pay. I don’t expect anyone to carry stuff for me or treat me special. I make my boyfriend dinner (not because it is my job, but because we’re both hungry people and we want food). We both clean the house because we’re both capable …

There are a lot: being caring, remembering small details, being funny, being charismatic, etc. There is a long list. I have a theory that applies to both men and women-- know what you have to offer and find someone who is attracted to it. It's not reasonable to expect any person to be perfect. Some high level things that people may look for in a partner include: • Attractiveness / In shape • Humor • Independence • Successful career • Wealth (not the same as successful career. Someone who loves t…

I think that this is an over implication. No money does not always equal lazy. A person could have had a bad break or not been set up to succeed. Out of shape means that someone prioritizes something else to working out daily, or they may have health issues. Dressing poorly means that someone doesn't necessarily understand how to dress. Not standing up for oneself means that they chose for whatever reason not to argue. Maybe it wasn't the hill that the person wanted to die on. Maybe the aggresso…

I’m a woman and can speak to this a bit. I rarely get turned on in conversation. However, good conversation leads me to be interested in more time/activities/whatever with the other person. What I find to be good for conversation is often soft-skill based. It is huge for a man to able to tell if other people are comfortable or not. Some women prefer more forward guys, some don’t. It isn’t a one-size fits all thing. A dude who can feel out how comfortable I am with the jokes / stuff that they’re …

First I want to say that you should be really proud that you put yourself out there. Secondly, she sounds like a crappy, ignorant, or socially awkward person. That is not a reflection on you, nor should it be, especially on date one. Dating is a two way street. It’s supposed to be a good fit for BOTH parties. I’m not aware of a quantity of friends indicating if someone is a good person or not. I’m sure there are studies, but that isn’t the point. Every person is different. Some people are introv…

I’m on mobile so please pardon my formatting. “Male standards being are more varied and women are much more similar to each other than men are”. As someone who dates men, idk if I agree with that. I’ll admit that everyone has a type and is biased. I mostly have male friends. I think the most striking thing about the majority of my male friends (even ones that don’t know each other) is how they have the same requirements in women— the women must be below 5’7 and must be hot. One of my guy friends…

This might sound silly, but I don’t think it makes sense for some men to prefer dating feminine women but also find them annoying. I don’t get it. I personally dislike being around people who are aggressive. That means that I often find overly “manly” guys overwhelming, so I avoid dating them. Does that mean I date dudes who are incredibly feminine? I have nothing against it but that isn’t my preference either. I’m not very feminine. I can find too much femininity overwhelming as well. I understand what you’re saying. There certainly are some women that decide that height is a requirement for them. I’m short. It’s nice to have someone able to teach stuff for me, but it isn’t a requirement. I find it frustrating that a lot of guys pick that to harp on when a lot of men have their own standards or requirements— those are often about weight, how someone looks, and sometimes other shallow things that women cannot always control. I had a male friend tell me that he would only date …

I lived with a male friend for 3 years. We’re still good friends and keep in touch. It was purely platonic. There was no romance or sexual activity between us. Myy definition of a relationship is friendship + sex + long term planning. We were friends and did some planning (like trips). The lack of romance is what kept it as friends. If we started hooking up, due to the duration we lived together, we probably both would have developed feelings and turned into a relationship I think don’t know the…

I will say that some guys do! It's not very common though. I am a woman and have a hard dating / finding a partner because of that. There may be a lot of men out there but there aren't a ton who treats me like a person.

It's not about height. I'm 5'1. Nearly all men are taller than me. I've dated guys from 5'3-6'4 (No guy under 5'3 has spoken to me). It's about everything u/reluctantly_red stated. If a woman person is not growing , then they're not someone I want to spend much time with. I personally strive to grow and become a better person. I expect the same from my friends and my partner.

I would also like to comment on this. FWB is usually friendship plus banging. Some people may try to tell you that something is wrong with that-- nothing wrong with that. Depending on what you're looking for, that often it is quite satisfactory. FWB can also lead to a relationship. The typical definition of a relationship is friendship, sexual activity, and long-term planning. In most situations it is "I want to spend the rest of my life with you, get married, and have a family." For less tradit…

One thing you could do is ask if she is venting or wants advice. Sometimes people just want to vent. Then you can zone out or do whatever. It shows your wife that you care about her well-being and gives you the ability to checkout more if she just wants to vent. I have severe ADHD (it's more than the ability to sit still and focus) but it's nice to know how engaged I need to be.

DissonanceBadger, I respect and appreciate your answer. It is honest and grounded in reality. Like you I'm interested in doing my own things. I have my emotions and mental health under control. I find that talk is cheap and people don't often show up when they say that they will. However, I am a woman and have always been a tom boy. I prefer spending time with dudes in a platonic way. That’s entirely not true. I’m sure there are some women that feel that way, but not all do. I am a woman who offers to pay, has financially supported a partner, and thinks that each partner (I don’t care what gender) should be supportive however they can be. in my experience, a lot of men dislike it. They find it emasculating. I work in tech and am financially stable so I think it’s only fair that I offer to pay. If I make more than the other person, then I should pay more frequently because it …

I understand your point of view but I still disagree. Women are also judged by milestones but they’re different ones. Girls are constantly given the narrative that they need to find their Prince Charming, get married, and have kids. Does that make a dude a prize to be won? I personally don’t think so. Boys are given the narrative that they need to go to school, have a stable career, find a woman, get married, have kids, and provide for them. I personally believe that men are less punished for no…

Yes, people have different skills. But at that high of a level, normal people can’t really tell the difference in speed. The women’s team is just as skillful (in fact more so) than the men’s team. If you think that women are worse than men at literally everything, your view of people (and what they have to offer) is warped.

Thanks for taking the time to read over and respond. Yeah.. my ex wasn’t great. I think you’re right that there are probably more female narcissists. Kids grow up watching their parents’ behavior. If moms behave in a way that is unhealthy and the dad’s cater to it, they’re learning that the behavior is okay. I think that a lot of kids grow up learning that: - girls get whatever they want but are required to do the housework - boys have to accept the behavior, don’t have to clean, but are require…

I think that men actually have higher standards but women look for different things. I work in tech and have a lot of intelligent and nerdy male friends. Most of them are overweight (not a judgement but a statement). For whatever reason, they are only attracted to women who are in peak physical shape. Then they're furious when these women are not interested in them. I get physically attraction is important but values and compatibility are more so. I think every person should understand what they…

I think that men and women both feel entitled but to different things. The only time a sane man acts entitled to sex is if he’s been taking the woman out on dates or doing things for her (im not saying its right for him to expect it and Never right to act terribly to her for it, but im just pointing out there is usually a somewhat understandable reason a simple expectation built up in his head.. In the United States, the women’s soccer team is genuinely the better team. They’re paid substance less than the men’s US soccer team. If you don’t believe me, look it up. The pay gap is wider in different countries and for different reasons. It isn’t as generic and simple as everyone wants to believe it is.

Same. I actually had a male coworker continue harassing me. I kept asking him to stop but he wouldn’t. He also continued escalating it. I was in a relationship with a dude for 2 years at that point. He refused to step in. It was “my problem”. It eventually ended when he offered to show me his penis over work chat. I showed that to our manager and it stopped. 9/10 times if I’m being harassed by a guy, another guy does not help. I either have to figure it out on my own or a woman helps.

I do overall agree but for slightly different reasons. I’m not sure it’s so much projecting what they want in a man as compared to enablement and not setting the kid up for success. Teaching someone to behave a certain way is different than preparing them for the world. I think every person should understand what they have to offer (intelligence, looks, strength, common sense, humor, etc.) and find a person who values and is compatible with that. I’m a female but have a twin brother. How we were treated in the same scenarios was quite striking. When you have a sibling the same age but treated entirely different for arbitrary reasons, it makes things quite noticeable (If you have questions on that, I can go into it.) I think there are multiple pieces of the “nice guy” issue. A large part is that people, especially men, are brought up being told that if they’re nice and work hard they will earn what they want. From my experience for women,…

Alright silly question, but here it goes. Why would you have any number of children with someone that you do not trust? For simplicity, I'm going to leave out situations where a partner was raped, one night stand, unexpected shit. I would recommend watching Daniel Sloss’s comedy special Jigsaw. It touches on relationships and how people sometimes change large pieces of themselves to make others happy in an unhealthy way. I’m considered attractive and was single for over 2 years after I ended it with my ex. My ex was a sociopath. His friends thought he was the best.
