The gym, hobbies, and other women. Working well for me.

Agree with everything except I enjoyed several women after the initial spiral and I think it helped me realize how it’s not all going to suck.

She wanted the divorce first. It started to make sense. So, I started dating during separation. This sounds like you aren’t over your ex more than anything. Time helps but self reflection and loving yourself matters more.

You’re losing a person and also the life you had planned. Those are two big blows. I’m over the person aspect. The second one still bums me out. It does get a lot better, though. It’s just different.

I’d be very tempted to tell him that you had went no contact for a reason

Filing as a surprise is a battlefield tactic. If you’re hoping for amicable it’s a bad idea. Your lawyer should have mentioned this, tho. No harm in filing first but doing it by surprise isn’t good for diplomacy.

If it’s a martial asset, yes. She would get half the cash after loan is paid.

Divorce sucks. Staying married to someone like that sounds worse.

Yes it’s good for compiling numbers. You’re asking it for something completely different and subjective here.

What makes you think AI has an answer to this complex human problem? AI doesn’t think for you, it just googles shit (regardless of the trustworthiness and accuracy of sources) and coalesces it into an answer.

I think it makes a huge difference if you plan to have the kids there or not during the separation and after. If not, go with as small/cheap and nice as possible. Figure out a monthly budget for both of you. And contact an attorney ASAP.

When you feel ready. We had struggled for a long time. Tried all the therapies. Hadn’t been intimate in a long time. Once we officially separated and I had a place to stay away from kids (we nested) I started talking to women. It happened about a month later when I ran into someone I knew that I always found attractive.

Cost of a letter from your attorney should be enough of a deterrent to keep this from happening long term.
/r/Divorce_Men10/03/26 06:09 PM

She’s cheating. Don’t rationalize it. Unless you explicitly told her to go bang other dudes then she’s cheating. It’s over. Hit the gym. Find a lawyer and a therapist. It’ll be ok.

Yeah. The apps are amazing if you like fat girls.

My divorce was very civil. Amicable, even. It still sucks, though. I have 0% right now in ever marrying again. I’m dating. I am open to a long term relationship. I will just never merge lives like that again. “Living apart together” is what I want. If that’s not a shared desire it’s not going to work.
/r/Divorce_Men04/03/26 07:24 PM

If you want to see them less and pay more child support/alimony, stay put. I’d move. Go for 50/50

They’re about the same. My ex was hot. I’m not downgrading. So far so good but the pool is much smaller.

So is she in default of a final order/decree? If not, get some finality and hold feet to fire. You’ll spend years in limbo if you don’t.

Why are you still on the loan? Are you not divorced or in the process?

Nope. Her trip to her parents. On your time. “I don’t think it is my responsibility to pay for a trip I’m not taking with them.”

Consult with an attorney to at least get your bearings on what you are looking at worst case scenario. You can negotiate 95% of a divorce by yourself, but you need to know what you are facing.

To be honest, I wouldn’t count on having sole custody. 50/50 is what most courts strive for. You’d have to establish solid reasons why it shouldn’t be shared and “I did most of the work” isn’t generally enough. Get comfortable with the idea of shared custody for your own mental well-being. CS with a 50/50 split is usually minimal. She like will have to pay you alimony/maintenance due to the difference in income. The courts and lawyers are only as ruthless as the parties necessitate. Keeping thin…

Take your time, man. Don’t look for a relationship. Do things that make you happy. Do things to better yourself. Find cool hobbies. Take care of your health. You’ll be ok. If you happen to meet someone organically, great.

I don’t date women that expect to be cared for financially. That was reserved for the mother of my kids. I’m still doing that already thanks to alimony. I’m open to finding a partner. I will never have an additional dependent.

But will it make a difference in terms of what you can save/achieve ultimately? Moral victories aren’t worth it. Make sure it will actual have some bearing on financial and custody result.

If you’re using ChatGPT and not a lawyer then you’re going to pay more to unfuck what ChatGPT told you. It does NOT give good legal advice. It makes things up. It tells you what you want to hear. I’m a lawyer but not a divorce lawyer. I have friends that are, though. It’s worse than looking at google for legal answers because at least with google you can see it you’re reading a legit website. 1) don’t get married - you don’t need to be married to stay with someone. The marriage-related tax breaks aren’t worth the financial fallout from divorce. 2) If you are set on getting married, she needs to make her own money at a level similar to yours. Don’t marry a dependent. Consult a lawyer about a prenup. 3) Date a lot. Don’t settle. Figure out what you like.

The apps are terrible for men over 40. Even after matching there’s a chance they’re looking for pen pals or don’t look as good as their pics. Get into hobbies. Network with friends. Go to local events. Meet people in the Wild.
/r/Divorce_Men18/12/25 02:10 PM

I don’t see how it would’ve made a difference as premarital assets are generally not subject to division after separation. Get a lawyer and make sure you fight for what’s yours.

Normal. Combo of being in your head and being used to something else (hand, different woman and however she felt/moved). Stop jerking off. There’s a level of “hey this is good but it’s different so I’m just gonna chill” that goes on downstairs.

I’ve been lucky that I’ve enjoyed some of the dates I’ve gone on since divorcing. The apps are garbage, though. Utter trash. My friends know I’m looking but not in a hurry. There are a lot of women in the same boat. Just get expectations set early. Experiencing new partners is a lot of fun. Never marrying again tho.

Buying a house now makes a huge difference.
/r/Divorce_Men03/11/25 01:14 AM

No, it’s generally not something to argue in the majority of states. It will all come down to splitting assets evenly and figuring out the difference in income as to child support and alimony.
/r/Divorce_Men22/10/25 03:03 PM

Jesus Christ. File already and find an apartment nearby. Divorce doesn’t take two people.

Look at the total cost of heloc rate (they’re usually higher) combined with your current rate and compare to an entire refinance. Also, you could potentially offer more of your retirement to compensate/buy out her equity with a QDRO meaning you won’t be hit for fees and taxes.
/r/Divorce_Men09/10/25 05:11 PM
4

It’s not going to be messy. Just agree to pay what you have to as your state requires and keep being amicable coparents. You’ll both be better apart.
/r/Divorce_Men01/10/25 03:47 PM
2

Depends on what kind of income your wife makes. Support/alimony can be based on what you can potentially earn. You can also potentially pay more in the split up front to reduce that annual/monthly payment. It’s definitely lawyer time. CA is not easy on breadwinners.

You don’t have to be in a relationship to have sex. Plenty of women enjoy casual sex. Try not to overdo the porn. It fucks with your brain.
/r/Divorce_Men19/09/25 01:42 PM

There’s likely a look-back period. Don’t hide them. You’ll just get hit harder.
/r/Divorce_Men16/09/25 12:27 AM
6

Hell. No. Don’t do it. Have some self respect. Demand couples counseling and if that fails, file. No half assing it. I thought about what you’re thinking about briefly when I realized we were done. Youre just setting yourself up for more resentment in this situation. You need to talk to a lawyer and figure out your options. File yourself if she’s content to play house. Be there for the kids. 50/50 isn’t as bad as you think. Just keep things civil. You deserve to be happy.
/r/Divorce_Men13/09/25 01:22 PM

Lesson: No need to move slowly and bond as friends first if you’re interested in romance/intimacy. Just go for it. It’s not gonna work out with some. It will with others. Take a chance.

No. You’re going to lose half your shit. Hiding it will mean losing more. Friends of mine have learned hard way. Just wait. If you don’t have kids pull the trigger on divorce if you’re miserable.

Divorce was the last push to me becoming purely a cultural Catholic. I will attend mass for family functions and events but that will be the extent of my involvement and practice. I’ll pray. My kids may continue if they wish. I will take them to church if they like. I will support their choice to receive sacraments. I will not discourage them. I will not volunteer but I will not lie to them about my position on the church. I didn’t want to get a divorce. I can’t stop one from happening. But now …

It was money well spent for me. Made getting over her much easier and even though I’m in a no fault state it gave a semblance of leverage. I’ve wasted a few grand on a weekend in Vegas. A few grand on a PI was much more worthwhile for me.

/r/Divorce_Men15/04/25 08:49 PM

It’s going to be a hit if you’re the main breadwinner and she makes zero or far less. No real way of escaping it. Don’t hide assets. That will end up worse for you. On the plus side you’ll probably spend less after the divorce, believe it or not. Get a good lawyer and try to keep it as amicable as possible.

Nice and kind can be very different. Nice lends itself to soft, unassuming, and boring. Nice sometimes devolves into tripping over yourself to avoid potentially offending. Nice strives for validation from others. Don’t be an asshole. Be confident and kind.

Breitbart and gateway pundit as mainstream? https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/breitbart/ https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-gateway-pundit/ The sources in the wiki article on Mark are from various sources - Fox News, BBC, LA Times, Toronto Star, the Washington Post and others. Ha. I was agreeing with you. I was saying the OP is an angry incel as are the upvoters here. I was upvoted tho so I was probably unclear. OP (not you) is ridiculously angry and socially awkward I'm guessing but from this post is clear he has a fucked up idea of what women are like. Obviously all girls are sluts that take multiple dicks at a time and then all girls become fat entitled pigs, right?

I get that. Antifa is nothing but morons and trolls. I can assume she was being an asshole but there's still a pretty big assumption that she did something terrible enough to warrant a punch in the face. Now, if she was in the middle of a big brawl then sure fair game. Get in the fight or get out. I get that. Just didn't see that was the context. Could be wrong.

I like what MGTOW has to say about relationship dynamics. Men get a raw deal a lot of the time and there are lot of "suck it up" types out there. I think men have reason to be angry and feel like they're getting shafted more times than not in relationships. That doesn't mean I get a kick out watching women get punched in the face. I think antifa is full of morons but unless I see that moron doing something warranting a punch in the face I think it's just gratuitous. Granted, I haven't been fucke…

You're ignoring the difference between negligence and criminal negligence. There's a huge difference between "oh shit" and "i knew I shouldn't have done that stupid thing I purposefully did."
/r/MensRights09/01/16 07:54 AM

People shouldn't go to jail for actions that didn't have criminal intent. They should be punished, though, for stupidity. And severely. Heavy fines, lots of service, intensive probation. People do stupid things. They should learn. They should pay for them but nothing is learned in jail.

So, are people ok with referring to those that have circumcisions due to medical conditions like phimosis or choosing to have a circumcision later in life as having mutilated themselves? I understand the argument against circumcision and believe it's unnecessary but the whole "circumcised penises are mutilated penises" trope is really disquieting. I can't imagine currying favor using the extreme terminology.

Some of the comments here from fellow Americans seem to assume the same. Apparently "removing the magazine means it is unloaded" is a snarky comment because those that know about guns know it to be false while those that may not know about guns could believe it to be a reasonable assumption.
/r/MensRights28/01/15 08:59 PM

I think that even in America with its "gun culture" people that aren't familiar with guns on a personal, hands-on level probably aren't aware of the possibility of a round being chambered even without a magazine.
/r/MensRights28/01/15 08:31 PM

It's not her job to prove she's innocent. It's the state's job to prove she's guilty. They've got a slam dunk manslaughter case. Proving first-degree intent may be difficult if she tells a believable story about removing the clip.
/r/MensRights28/01/15 03:44 PM

If she believed that the gun wasn't loaded how was she purposefully and intentionally threatening another human with death?
/r/MensRights28/01/15 03:40 PM

Well, technical differences are important. You would equate accidental killings with purposeful ones? She'll be punished for her stupidity.
/r/MensRights28/01/15 03:32 PM

She removed the magazine and didn't think it was loaded. It was negligent and terrible but not wilful. Manslaughter is the appropriate charge. She'll still spend a decade in the pokey.

I'm going to agree with you here. Do you want to be on par with feminist groups that complain about tongue-in-cheek swipes dealing with gender roles? It just makes a movement look completely humorless and militant. So the ad suggests men are messy. Big deal. If it suggested men are terrible dads, dishonest businessmen, drunken philanderers, horrible leaders, or never a victim, I'd react differently.
