I don’t know the exact situations you’re in but if you’re a tattoo artist charging $220/hr and keeping a full schedule, these conversations are probably much more common than most small business owners deal with. I have several tattoos and 220 is on the high end of what I would consider accessible artists (relatively easy to get an appointment but possibly with a long wait). He makes art, which people constantly undervalue and try to haggle over all the time. It would probably get pretty annoying having people say they don’t want to pay you for all the experience you have or the quality of your materials. It’s just ink and a needle right?
