–	Why is there Women's Chess? Since most high level women are not as good (according to the elo rating system) as high level men, barring a few that do play in the men's division, they have another tournament in which they can play against other women at a close competitive level. Perhaps it would be better if they changed the league to be for people with lower elo rather than women, but it's not a problem in my eyes. –	Why is there Women's Chess? For some reason, historically, the top male players have been better than the top female players in chess. Female players actually have a totally different scale on the ELO rating system in order to keep games and tournaments more competitive.
