Haha, it's funny you mention that. I have made a set of daily goals where I find something to thank my past self for. And, in the present, I think of something I can do to help my future self. Now, as for enjoying something in the present, that is something I need to add. I know what I can do! I tend to get so caught up in my work that I often forget about my dog. She is very old and majority of her life is behind her. I need to spend more time cherishing the gift of each moment I have with her.

"I also make sure I take/make time to live in the present." This is something I struggle with. My head is always in the future. I often to forget to enjoy what I have gotten thus far. Gratitude is key! Sure, you should strive to be better. But, also take the time to be thankful for everything thus far!

You make a very important contribution, especially in terms of setting too many goals. The key to success is proper pacing (which is why microgoals are so important). Set yourself up with just enough challenge that you are motivated to grow, yet not overwhelmed.

That's okay. You do not necessarily have to adopt the 4:30 AM lifetsyle to reap all of the reward. The great thing about the circadian rhythm is that is adapts to your lifestyle. If you maintain a consistent schedule, you will get just as many benefits from it.

Ah, thank you for noticing! I put a lot of care into each point and reread it at least a thousand times to make sure it flowed just right.

Hey, that's alright. It's not for everyone. This is written from my experience. I found this lifestyle to be helpful for me and I thought others might as well. If you're content with your lifestyle, there's no need to change it!

In building my morning routine, I went slow. I added a new habit once every 3 - 4 four weeks. After that much time, I would find myself acting out the habit without being consciously aware (precisely why I wanted it to be a habit!).

You do not necessarily have to make this a permanent lifestyle. But, you do not know until you try!

While the 4:30 AM lifestyle can be extreme in the context of the average person, I believe it to be enjoyable and I know there are others that agree with me. For some people, such as myself, happiness is derived from overcoming adversity. This lifestyle is attuned to just that.

Unfortunately, I do not have experience with this struggle. But, I do believe there is a solution to it. I'm assuming you work until about noon or 1 PM? While this is not as early as preferable, it is still better than getting off work at 5 PM. Your extra bit of struggle just means you have more to gain. If you are trying to maintain a life of discipline and self-development, I suggest, once you get off work, eating a light snack and hitting the gym. This will get your heart rate going and give …

If you enjoy the way you live your life, more power to yah. If you are looking to push yourself and build discipline, the 4:30 AM lifestyle will help you in your journey.

I do not have a degree in either discipline. However, one of my parents does, which they have been a great resource. I get most of this information from scientific studies and books. I listed my resources in the bottom. The biggest influence on this post was The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg.

Hey hey! Welcome to Reddit my friend! You have come to the right place. While you will find a lot of memes in this community, there are many good men here looking to give meaningful advice. Feel free to speak your mind and ask questions. That is why we all are here!

I was impressed how you were able to get to these conclusions by reading the past experiences of the guys here They came to me seeking advice. From spending several hours just talking to them, not only was I able to help them diagnose the roots of their struggles, but I noticed a pattern in their responses. It seemed that almost all of them were missing successful introspection. As I talked with more and more guys, I found a general approach that succinctly identified their problems. This approa…

it's a really nice work you've made, this kind of posts are the ones we should see here more frequently (self-improvement stuff). Agreed. The values of the MGTOW philosophy are not only about the dangers of women, but also how to empower yourself as a man! Are you a psychologist or smth? I am not, though I was raised by one! I get much of my knowledge on the how the mind works from reading published research. I can't thank you enough for sharing this post You are very welcome! I wish you the bes…

This is about overcoming a dependency. Once someone get a grip on your life, they will probably enjoy a couple hours of video games here and there. However, completely removing it from your life is definitely possible. I do not believe in NoFap; however, as is with video games, there are things to be gained from abstaining as much as possible.

That's very important! My post was directed toward men who quit their jobs, don't go to school, and play video games all day in their mother's basement. If you are able to play video games(being satisfied with that kind of life) and provide for yourself, I say more power to you!

If you do not feel you have a problem, that is your prerogative. I suppose it is better than an addiction to women?

Oof, you work a lot my friend. I do believe it is important to relax, which is why I still play the occasional video game. It means I should pursue some of my other hobbies, like reading, self education, painting or tabletop gaming. Honestly, these are all better options in my opinion. Have you thought about picking up any form of creative skill? That would be painting, playing an instrument, drawing, writing, etc? There is something about creating that makes it so fulfilling. For instance, that…

Ehhhhhh. That is a difficult one. This is how I became addicted to Left 4 Dead 2 in particular - all new titles do not appeal to me. My best suggestion is to look around and find something you enjoy. Do you like team-based competition? Puzzles? Building things? Describe something you are interested in, and I might be able to help you(though the game will probably be at least 10 years old).

you can apply these principles to stop a man's addiction to women. Absolutely, while I wrote in terms of video games, the actually advice for solving the problem is general to solving any form of addiction. Please keep on writing quality content. Right on man! It's a pleasure! Cheers. Have a good one.

Foot fetishes, like other sexual perversions, likely develop as the result of a traumatic childhood experience, which could be associated with a bad mother, bad father, or both.

I am not too sure what you mean by systems. Are you talking about ways to organize your day and the such? Also, for a podcast recommendation, I recommend Tony Robbins. I prefer to read books, however I think he has podcasts worth listening to.

That's a fair criticism. What would YOU prefer to see? Because, I am looking to improve my quality of writing. And, perseverance - I feel that fits under failure; however, "perseverance" is more succinct.

I agree. Success should be a personal journey. You shouldn't require the attention of others to validate your success.
