Could you compromise by updating the new table by stripping it and painting or re-staining? You could probably even change out the legs... I think... that way it feels brand new and would fit your new home, and he doesn’t feel like he’s buying a new table when he already has a table. Plus, great opportunity for him to be “handy” and feel needed. Bonus points if you tell him how great he did. Here’s how I would do it - look for designs that would fit the new house. Find pictures of the table in a…

But why get custom blinds when you can get them from ikea for so cheap in a huge variety of sizes....

This is so true! Getting upset only validates that “women are hysterical and irrational” trope and confirms that his perspective is correct because yours isn’t. I’ve had 2 little tiffs with my husband and only one resulted in compromise: the one where I calmly explained what I’d been thinking about since we’d started being quarantined together.

Yeah I was hoping for that but my free t levels weren’t low enough to warrant a topical testosterone prescription DESPITE the fact that the tests weren’t made to measure female testosterone and aren’t sensitive enough. Doc prescribed something else to treat my symptoms, health insurance doesn’t cover it, so now it’s just a whole shitshow. Also had my thyroid checked - that was all fine also. My PCP tried all those things and none of them really panned out.

Oh I have. Birth control of course lowered it. And no, not easily fixed. I’ve been off it for months and I’m just now feeling better.

Love this post! My top 5: 1 - Yoga and spin a few times a week. I LOVE these activities but have been too wiped out to make time. 2 - Reading some good fiction 3 - Cooking my favorite recipes more often 4 - Seeing friends and being a good reliable friend 5 - Playing with my new makeup I’ve been buying!

One thing I always do without fail is wash my face. I found a cleanser that works wet or dry and I like that I can either spend some time pampering my skin by working into a lather and rinsing and following up with a microdermabrasion cream and/or a moisturizer or serum, or if I’m tired I can just squirt some cleanser on a cotton round, wipe off my makeup, rinse, and move on. Skincare makes you feel like a new woman!

Super late to this party! I’ve had an Explore Air 2 for awhile and I love it. I’ve made things for work, gifts, and even stuff for other people. If you’re not intending to get into quilting or sewing, I wouldn’t bother with a Maker. But definitely get lots of extra mats because for big projects, you’ll want to be able to feed the next mat in quickly, and invest in one of the longer 18” ones so you’re not limited by size. I have 3 of the 12” square mats and I’m always having to break up text so i…

The puzzle idea is such a cute one! We also like video games so we’re working through Assassins Creed when we have time. Do you guys ever go on dates? What do you like to do when you want to do something special?

Anyone with a husband who works opposite schedules? How do you find time to “hang out” and spend time together? What do you do that’s fun or special when you do get time to be together?

Definitely right the new job. I’ve been coming home earlier once/twice a week for a few weeks and that’s really helped. It’s good to not feel like “who’s this dude in my house who sleeps in my bed and eats my food”

I was! I was taken off it in July and I’m seeing a specialist about it.

Thank you!!! I think you’re right that he feels a little entitled about it and I think it’s ok that he is. I’m sure it’s just stress. My job is high stress and not having time to be together during the week is killing us.

I guess you’re right and to be honest, I didn’t think of it that way. He asked if he could touch me before but I figured it was just absentminded and not sexual at all, because he was just watching tv. It was nice not to have to be worried about “I’m not turned on right now and he wants sex geez now I have to feel sexy even though I don’t feel it at all right now”

I tried to talk to him by saying “I felt caught off-guard and I wish you’d asked like ‘is this okay’ or ‘can I touch you here’”. I hoped like giving him the words would help. I didn’t think those things were so outside the realm of what you’d say in the bedroom anyway right?

Thanks! Like I’ve said before, I do say yes. I do. It’s not that I’m saying no. But do you think that if he’s told me he’s not out for that, and then he changes his mind, that it’s unreasonable to ask if it’s okay?

Thanks for the answer! I have been saying yes when he asks. And when we do have sex it’s awesome - seriously there is no “star fishing” it. That’s literally what I’ve been doing. I don’t say no - I just don’t initiate often. But my questions is, when he’s said he just wants to be close and cuddle, is it totally unreasonable to ask that he lets me know when he wants to get more intimate?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
