I don't see much difference between 1950 and now because the underlying dynamic has remained the same, only its manifestation is slightly different. My country has recently reintroduced conscription (obviously for men only) and I'm very proud to say I'm a draft dodger. I've always found that women are in fact the ones enforcing gender roles far more than men. Recognising that a severe injustice exists and yet making no effort to change it is not much better than outright supporting it. I am not going to contribute to and enable a dynamic that I find despicable on all counts, and I don't see why other men should. The plantation will keep on running without us I'm sure.

That's just a roundabout way of saying that they do, in fact, support gynocentrism. Pure semantics. I couldn't care less if it won't have much effect on society as a whole. I'll be very happy with myself as long as I don't end up being anyone's provider, and hopefully educate some men along the way.

See this is why marriage is a very poor idea. Not only will you most likely end up financially propping up a deadbeat 'full time mum' but when the eventual divorce inevitably comes around, you'll be forced to keep shelling out cash to support a lifestyle in which she still doesn't have to work.

Yeah. There's very little actual bureaucracy involved in emigrating to a different EU country, it's as simple as getting on a plane and there are no visas or work permits involved. Of course it helps if you know the language of the country you're moving to but even that isn't strictly necessary.

I live there and can safely say that it's an extremely backwards place so this hardly comes as a surprise. A man in Lithuania is not even considered to be a human being, just the sum of the utilities that he can provide to society and women of course. Shaming tactics over conscription are rife and many men get intimidated into obeying the draft.
