Sure dude. You know all about my sex life. Then why have you already asked me twice to give you more information with multiple questions? Go get yourself your own sex life. Christ.

No dude. I was outed as a woman. I didn't break the rules. Oh, and you want to know about my sex life? Guess what - you don't want to know that I'm female so why in the world do you think I'm going to tell you about my sex life? You see the hypocrisy dude? Women don't want to talk to jerks. Why not just ban women from the fucking sub? It won't be my loss.

I'm sorry what? I am so confused. Why did you send me this message? Edit: please tell me which rule explicitly I broke and how I broke it. I've been banned from two incels for no reasons or explanations at all. If that happens on RP as well, whatever, I give up!

Just did. Please let me know which ones I broke after I was "outed" already as female?

First of all, why would a woman self-disclose if she's going to be treated in a negative way? Second of all, you had to "figure out" that I was a woman so I clearly didn't broadcast it or trumpet it around. It's a part of who I am. I certainly didn't become offended when I realized that you were male. I thought the point of this subreddit was to learn about new ideas and bettering yourself? I'm sure women can do that as well? And if I think that each person is different it goes to follow that ev…

Dude there's an A at the end of my username. Do you only speak one language? And I haven't been hiding the fact that I'm female. It's not something I'm ashamed of. I know many RPs think women are sluts that need to be infantalized and put in their place. I think PEOPLE are people and every relationship is different. And do you need to go wash your hands now that you've talked to a (gasp!) woman?

Oh don't worry. That word cunt has already been reclaimed. It doesn't hurt me at all. I am a woman that enjoys taking care of two men. It's not just the sex - the emotional and romantic connection is very important to me. I guess I'm alpha. ;)

Well I'm poly and I know I'm real. I just poked myself to make sure. There are some kernels of truth to some of the TRP ideology. And then there's a lot of misogyny, anger, and black and white thinking. When you come across something that doesn't fit into your "rules" or mindsets of alphas and betas, perhaps the ideology should be changed to include all of the "exceptions" to your "rules"?

Ok there are half a million poly relationships in the U.S. I think someone forgot to tell them that they don't exist.

Ma che "vale a dire"? Io non sono Italiana e vivo negli Stati Uniti. Ci sono tanti Italiani che lo parlano e non vivono in Italia, tanti che si sono trasferiti e poi altri come me che lo studiano anche se non siamo italiani.

A unicorn. The irony is that the name itself is staring everyone right in the face - these perfect, independent, young, gorgeous, sexy but virgins, who put up with being treated like children, who have no emotional baggage, and fit all TRP criteria - they don't exist! Maybe following some of the non-misogynistic ideas of TRP can help you get laid or improve your relationship (getting back into shape being key) but calling women bitches and raving about cock carousels and nonsense (and double sta…

I apologize for the assumption! I think the idea of changing the name of the disorder is ridiculous. I note that the "many individuals" certainly isn't the 75% I saw you claim yesterday. I'm not one of those individuals - though I was emotionally and physically abused. I noticed in a lot of your posts you don't include links to actual resources but you toss percentages and statements around a lot and that's not a good idea because some people reading what you write might believe it's true. I thi…

DBT didn't work for me at all. Btw I acknowledge how well you've informed yourself about the disorders, especially without a professional degree. My having BPD and also having majored in psych and then mastered in it really helped me understand the difference. Many of the things you say make sense. I'd be very interested to see sources for how you came across a lot of this information. It's true that there is often a huge overlap across symptoms of the various disorders - that's why comorbidity …

To further expand - it has been said before that people who are borderline don't have "psychological skin." Anything you say to them can be extremely painful - they have almost no coping skills and can be extremely defensive. They often push people away with their behavior. Some of us self-harm. Many of us try to kill ourselves. In fact, it's the second most deadly psych disorder after anorexia. The personality disorders are much, much different than the mood disorders.
/r/askTRP11/09/16 10:40 AM

It certainly is underdiagnosed in men. You know what's interesting about what you say? The recovery rate for borderline is very high after a ten year period. People generally get borderline (as with most personality disorders) in their mid-20s. With lots of professional help (DBT is the treatment of choice) many of us reach recovery. 9 years later I did. That doesn't mean BPD isn't real - it means many people get better. If you're on lamictal I'm guessing you're BP? I wonder if you were diagnose…

Liberal, feminist therapist here. Thank you! Every person is different. Every therapist is too. If you find a shitty one PLEASE go get another one! Don't stay with a bad therapist!!!!!
/r/askTRP11/09/16 12:25 AM

Yes, unfortunately they do. For example I have a personality disorder and a mood disorder. My Mom has a mood disorder and my father has a personality disorder. But of course without an identical twin study it's hard to separate the "genetic predisposition" part of the disorder from the environmental influences that can also trigger the manifestation of the disorder.... Feel free to PM me anytime if you'd like. I really enjoy talking about this stuff to people who are interested.

Plus real psychiatrists know they can't diagnose over the internet. And the mild form of bipolar was probably cyclothymia. Props to the girl for being upfront about her mental health issues. It takes courage to do that, especially with all of the stigma out there. It gives OP the info he needs & deserves to decide if he wants to stay with her or not.

Dude. BPD here. It's absolutely real. It almost killed me. Have you met anyone with the disorder? If you're interested you can PM me for info. Have you been in a psych ward before? Do you know what the symptoms are for BPD? I had to have 20 years of therapy to restructure my personality to become less borderline and less bipolar. Oh and the MA in counseling helped too.

I'd be very interested to read about most BPD women having been sexually abused. I'm just one of course, but that's not true of me and a few of other BPD people I've met over the years. Genuinely curious - you seem to know your stuff and I really appreciate you taking the time to correct the random diagnoses getting tossed around by other people.

Why does everyone think they know about BPD? Even with a degree in psychology (masters here) and even having BPD I know that you can't diagnose someone over the internet AT ALL. A professional uses the DSM-5 to check to see if the patient meets a specific number of symptoms on a specific list for a certain amount of time. You don't toss out disorders like Q tips.
/r/askTRP11/09/16 12:15 AM

No. Masters in psychology here + I have bipolar type 2. With any psychological disorder you have to meet a list of criteria to be diagnosed with that disorder. Everyone has changes in mood. The list of criteria comes from a psychiatrist's guide called the DSM. Here's the list of criteria for bipolar (from an older version of the DSM). The danger of people throwing actual diagnoses around as if they have the professional training to diagnose someone based on how someone else described a single in…

Thank you very much! I have bipolar type 2 and borderline (and happily married) and it's so strange to see people throwing the words around when they really don't know the symptoms. Just because a woman is crying about how you've changed doesn't make her bipolar, Jesus! There's a list of symptoms that you have to meet to actually become diagnosed with these disorders. Anyone can have a bad day like this woman had. When you're borderline you have an actual personality disorder that severely inter…

Yeah, she looks like she has a BMI of 17 or so. Of course you can go from overweight to underweight (or skinny, whatever you prefer to call that). In fact it's not uncommon for people who lose a lot of weight to then have difficulties with anorexia.

I lost 85 pounds. I'd say I went from a 2 to an 8. But it wasn't just losing the weight. I had to do a lot of other things as well - internal and other external changes.

No in this case I agree with you. And I post there regularly. I "guessing" the guy was having an "emotional" type of flirty thing going on with his coworker. Ok, we all make mistakes. But the fact that she's upset that he's moved on is HER issue and hers alone to deal with. Some people rebound quickly (he may not be able to be single on his own), others need time to heal, etc.

OMG OP I think I love you! I'm not even a regular here but it was such good advice for me in so many ways. And I'm female and married! OP, you mentioned you have social anxiety. I do too. I wonder if that may be a part of what is getting in your way? Unlike throwaway underneath me, I don't think an actual diagnosed condition is an "excuse" by any means but an obstacle to be overcome. Have you tried any treatment for the social anxiety? For me, therapy and meds (beta-blockers) and practice (meetup.com) helped a lot.

Of course it's an insult. Let's not kid ourselves. Any time you tell someone what you think they do or don't know you're delving into patronizing territory. It's certainly not a compliment. And not everyone who stumbles into a subreddit has time to read all the FAQ. I agree that I am seeing it from the female perspective and that you're seeing it from the male one. I can't imagine what it's like being a guy and living in fear of a rape allegation. I do know what it's like to live in fear of rape though. But as a guy there are ways you can decrease your risk - talking about a safe word, not having rough sex or rape play unless you're in an established and committed relationship. I guess from what she wrote it's not hard to tell what she meant because she tol…

Yeah I'd call it growing up. Plenty of women still look amazing in their 30s and 40s. Some women will continue chasing the wrong guys or only caring about someone's wallet just as some guys will continue feeling bitter and resentful for never finding someone. Those are all people to ignore if you're looking for a partner, IMO. Seek out the people who care about you and not your superficial characteristics. If year after year you can't find someone the onus to change something shifts to you (agai…

One more thing: the only difference isn't whether she enjoyed it or not. With the first guy she told him no and he raped her. With the second guy she discussed her fantasies, she trusted him, and they acted them out. Is it that hard for you to understand that with person A you might not feel safe doing something (i.e. being raped?!!?!?) but with person B you feel comfortable acting out fantasies once you've discussed them and you trust each other? Rape is not equal to role playing. Punto e basta…

Well I've tried to understand the way you see it and I've genuinely tried to explain my views as well. Let's call these two guys "A" and "B". Guy A raped her. She never talked about her rape fantasies with him and she told him no. He tied her up and sodomized her. Now guy B she trusts. She's in a relationship with. She's talked about her rape fantasies with him. She (hopefully) has a safe word. When they have sex they both get into and enjoy the rape play. One more time: rape play. If you are en…

Sure. I've spent most of the day on this subreddit and reading various links that people have given me and thinking about their comments. Genuinely trying to understand the best that I can. My takeaway at this point is that plenty of TRP guys are angry. Angry that they aren't in a relationship or that they've been passed over. Angry at "sluts" who "change their mind" once they "hit the wall" and decide to "settle" with them. Angry at being "forced" to be providers. And understandably angry at th…

How is the guy supposed to know whether she trusts him enough that he can rape her? That's key right there. When you're in a trusting relationship and have discussed sexual fantasies and both people are comfortable you aren't raping or being raped. You are consensually having sex. With the first guy clearly she never gave him permission to role play. In fact, he actually raped her. With the second guy she discusses having a trusting relationship where she actually felt comfortable exploring her …

But these are two different guys. The first one raped her after she clearly said no. The second guy is someone she trusts and who she'd discussed her rape fantasies with before they enacted them. They are two different scenarios with two different men. In the first she clearly told him to stop and in the second they were role-playing. So where is the confusion? If you're with a girl who wants to role-play rape make sure you've got a safe word and you trust her. If you're having a one-night stand…

All we can do is focus on our own lives and behavior. By acting in an egalitarian manner towards both genders people attract good relationship partners to them. By acting in a bitter or hostile manner (either gender!) partners are repelled.

I guess we're seeing the same situation completely differently. In the first situation she clearly says she didn't want sex and articulated that. She doesn't say that with that person they had enacted rape fantasies before. In fact she qualifies with, Now in a different situation with a guy I trusted and had talked about that with it would be different. It looks like we're both worrying at the bone, n'est-ce pas? We are replying to each other. Perhaps it is pointless but perhaps we are getting a better idea of what the other person thinks? I've certainly learned something from your comments and I'd hope you wouldn't continue to reply to mine if they're ridiculous, unhelpful, repetitive, whatever. But what is my point? Good question. Sincerity is the key. Being yourself is the key. If someone really believes in egalitarianism then they'll be treating the men and women in their life equally to start with and then modifying based on how those people treat them. But absolutely nowhere did I suggest behaving artificially. That's a recipe for disaster because it is so easy to tell when someone is faking an emotion they don't really feel or forcing themselves to act in a way that goes against their "true colors" so to speak.

I disagree completely. There is "in-group" bias all over TRP! And it's completely natural. In my favorite subreddit, r/twoXchromosomes, there's "in-group" bias all over there as well. Anytime you get a group of people together discussing common grievances you're going to get your in-group bias. Men aren't morally superior to women. We're all slanted towards our own interests.

Well I hope you find someone who suits you and that you're happy with, I really do. I've read everything you've written and I think I understand your points better but I still maintain that there is no way to objectively tell how many sexual partners someone has. You seem to be talking about judging someone based on how they act, which makes a lot more sense than judging them based on a past which you might never actually know about.
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 07:48 PM
1

I did roll with it and find someone different who didn't care about my sexual history. My point was that you can't have it both ways - wanting a very young partner (24) while still expecting her to be ready to settle down and also have a limited number of partners. If that's what you're looking for, good luck finding it and best of luck to you.
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 07:45 PM

Ok, now we've arrived at the insults! So we're completely done. For the record, if you're trying to convince someone of something saying "you can google around" doesn't further your cause. Neither does insulting someone. You know nothing about what I do or don't understand about science or how it relates to my life. Asking for scientific backing behind some of these theories makes much more sense than tossing around vague ideas and generalizations.
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 07:44 PM

"Term of art?" I've really appreciated people giving me links in their comments to check out as simply replying thoughtfully and civilly to so many comments has taken quite a bit of time and concentration today. I still get the occasional person who says "google it on your own" which isn't quite conducive to a good discussion.
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 07:36 PM
2

I'm doing my best to keep up with all the comments and can't read absolutely everything. I saw pretty quickly that you were conflating rape fantasies with false rape allegations so I focused on other comments. If I enjoy role playing does that make me more likely to file a false rape allegation? I can't understand at all how people get confused between fantasies and actual behaviors. It really boggles my mind.
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 07:34 PM

Interesting theories but without actual evidence or scientists backing it up it's really hard to swallow, to be honest. There are a huge amount of obese men chasing after hot girls and also settling down with overweight women. What about them? Why are overweight women part of the problem and not overweight men?

I don't see anyone forcing anyone else to do anything! If a guy is with someone who only cares about how much money he makes it's time to find someone else, for real! The divorce and alimony laws need to (absolutely NEED to) be revised so that they are more fair to men. But let's get real here: women are (mainly) valued for their looks and often men are for their money. We can't have it both ways: pining after a "hot" partner while bemoaning having to provide. If that's the way things are "expec…

That makes complete sense to me. To be fair, women are also getting this message that they've got to be sexy yet not slutty, independent but take be perfect mothers/wives, assertive without being aggressive aka a bitch, perfect Moms without putting down anyone else for their choices, emotionally mature in the early 20s (before they hit their "walls"), physically beautiful as long as possible (otherwise they're useless, amirite?), smart but not disgustingly so, etc. There are harmful stereotypes …

Goodness there are so many variables affecting that. I don't think feminism has any impact on male mortality rate just as I told someone else on the thread that female obesity doesn't either (you've got to be kidding me!?!) The punishment should fit the crime regardless of gender. And perhaps men are retiring later since they are often the primary breadwinners and earning more? Just a stab in the dark. I guess what you see as a manipulative and deceitful turnaround when a woman hits her "wall" I see as simply growing up. A lot of those "cock carousel" women were looking for nice guys and kept getting hurt themselves. Karma, I know (I guess?). Aid for the children. I'm not talking about huge windfalls for the parents - just enough to take care of food, shelter and medical necessities. Or do you really think poor children shouldn't get any government assistance at all? If that's your opinion I'll agree to disagree.
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 06:47 PM

No, not all BC is hormonal. There are many different types of birth control and different dosages but if you're talking about a daily pill I think you're right that those are almost always hormonal. And as I mentioned previously, what works for one woman may even be dangerous for another. It is not uncommon for a woman to have to try 3-4 different types of birth control before finding one that works without terrible side effects such as decreased libido and mood swings.
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 06:45 PM

Well I'd argue that government aid towards single Moms with lots of children is also important for the overall general good of society. Should those kids be punished for decisions their parents did or didn't make? Are they more or less likely to repeat the cycle themselves if they don't have access to decent education and basic necessities?

It all sounds very frustrating. But there are plenty of women who are sincerely looking to settle down and be in a monogamous relationship. Anger towards "slutty women" riding the "cock carousel" might get in the way of finding someone that person genuinely does click with - because they're carrying too much baggage towards the ways "some women" behave instead of focusing on the women they really want to be with.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say I highly doubt you can tell how many partners a woman has had. I'm curious what your "tells" are. If you have partner number preferences in anyone you'd date that's perfectly ok. But there is no way to ever objectively tell a woman's sexual history. You can't tell based on what she's wearing, how much makeup she has on, how flirtatious or extroverted she is. That's the only thing I'm not understanding about the "no slutty girls" approach. If you're turned of…

I am "against" MRAs who speak hatefully about women just as I am "against" any group that would speak hatefully about men such as radical fringe feminists. I feel no kinship towards any group that makes sweeping & prejudicial generalizations towards entire groups of other people. I don't "oppose" any group in particular. I have my own beliefs about issues and so do you. Some of our beliefs may coincide (intactivism, fairer divorce proceedings) but many of them probably don't and that's ok too.

I disagree. You can attempt in your own life and interactions with both genders to treat them equally without leading to female supremacy. Looking at the big picture there are disappointing trends in all directions. But the only things we can control are the ways we react to and treat the men and women we come into contact with ourselves.

It's just so weird! Do you only date virgins? Is it the idea that other guys slept with someone that makes her completely unattractive? If you date someone only with X number of partners or below how do you go about verifying she's being honest? And do you hold yourself to the same standard?

My goodness, the hostility! I mentioned the disability to show how my opinion towards government aid is biased due to my own circumstances.

I'm guessing you collect the data on "bad feminists" so there's probably a selection bias going on there. I'm sure I do the same for the "good feminists." I wonder how many of these women causing problems for men (false rape allegations, bitter divorce proceedings) would actually call themselves feminists? There seems to be an assumption on TRP that any woman doing something unfair is a feminist.

I've heard a bunch of times on this thread not to make things personal or talk about myself. Point taken. That story is anecdotal, right? One person? Did she press charges for rape or is she simply describing her sex life and fantasies?

I thought you'd jump on that. Where did I say they were equal? I used those as an example of actual data points without saying one ruined life was equal to one rape victim not getting justice. If you think you can tell what my "real belief structure is" based on an assumption you've made from a phrase in one comment I've made, please know that that's not how you'll get an idea of who I really am and what I believe.

Perhaps I am. But perhaps the women in your area are just genuinely not good candidates for a relationship and you might need to look outside your geographical area or comfort zone to find an excellent compatible person? I've seen a lot of rigid requirements (must not be older than 24, must not be slutty, etc) from people who are also complaining about the lack of real options. Perhaps the problem is not only that there's a real lack of worthy/desirable dating partners out there but also that th…

I think using generalizations is a fast way to distance yourself from a logical discourse. Sticking with facts and research seems more logical. X number of radical feminist rallies were had versus Y number of peaceful ones. X number of false rape allegations were made versus Y number of rapes that were never prosecuted. That type of thing. Discussing what "feminists" do just seems to be so unproductive. That's like me talking about what MRAs or RedPills do which I've tried really hard to steer c…

Thank you for the links. I'm still curious how you're going to rule out women who have been too sexually active for your tastes. You'll only date virgins? I'm not trying to troll here, I'm genuinely curious how you'll be able to tell how many partners a woman has had. Surely not based on her age?! I see what you're saying about fertility though my ob/gyn told me just a few weeks ago that I'll have very similar fertility rates until about 35. I may have misunderstood her though (I hope not!) Of course. People may say things you don't like or that are hard to hear (for example I've gotten a bunch of personal feedback on this thread) but as long as they're not slinging insults you might as well be receptive to what they're saying.

I'm sorry, I just found your comment very difficult to grasp especially the "shit test" part. What does that mean? I've learned a lot on this thread but this comment in particular doesn't seem to make much sense to me, I'm afraid. modern feminism is a complicated socio-sexual fitness test designed to eliminate omega men's genes, provide middling women with temporary access to alpha males and obese women with commitment from beta males. Do you really believe that? What on earth would be the point…
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 05:27 PM

I completely agree with you. I find alpha/beta to be scarily simplistic and black and white. People are so much more complicated than that!
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 05:22 PM

I'd love to see the scientific studies behind that theory. It sounds interesting in principle of course. I agree that I shy away from generalizations especially when there's a stigma involved. Because I used to make assumptions all the time about people and their motivations I've learned the hard way to try to think of alternate scenarios and reasons so I don't get myself into trouble. Kind of like the iceberg principle in some ways.

I noticed now that you pointed it out!
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 05:18 PM

No of course not. I'm talking about slinging around insults like cunt and bitch and using them to refer to an entire group of people rather than one person in particular who may have done you wrong.

That's interesting because women respond so differently to different types of birth control! What works for some gal and doesn't cause mood issues might make someone else completely moody in the extreme. I'd be wary of anyone saying hormonal BC makes women behave in X way because there are so many types of birth control and each woman responds differently. If there are some studies on that I'd be interested to see them and also interested in how rigorous the study was and which group was studied…
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 04:57 PM
1

Well I appreciate that, I really do. I tend to judge whether I like someone or not based also on the words they use. Anyone speaking hatefully about women (regardless of how they identify) is not someone I care to talk to. So whether or not they've actually gone and done X, Y or Z I already know there's no point discussing anything with them and that they're not someone I'd care to get to know or reach out to.
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 04:55 PM
1

You are completely right. I didn't know how old the theory was. Regardless, any personality theory with just two choices is going to be sadly lacking in describing actual people. That's why the whole alpha/beta dichotomy is unhelpful.

I agree that sexual preference isn't part of the argument. That was exactly what I meant when I responded to Santaincarnate's comment: It's amazing how many professed feminists turn out to total submissives. "I'm a strong independent womyn, but please tie me up and piss in my mouth"
/r/TheRedPill10/06/13 04:45 PM

Hunh. Well I think that's part of the problem! You can have your partner checked for STDs to rule that out. The baggage can be ruled out by only dating women who come across as stable and have a good head on their shoulders and a low tolerance for drama and bullshit. And the fertility issue - well, you can keep your age range 25-35? But if you're eliminating any woman you deem as "slutty" as a longterm partner (and how do you base that? number? women lie because of the stigma) you're drastically…

For some people that might be all they care about (a woman's looks or a man's wallet) but for quite a few people it's a combination of factors, I'd imagine. Both of those factors play huge roles though.

Very interesting. I'd argue that men have their own wall as well. I think the settling down thing is related to a normal progression through life stages but it might also be related to not being able to compete with the younger and prettier girls? I can see that.

Ok so this is self-serving but how about taking it on a case by case basis? I don't associate with people who are hateful towards other groups and I've seen videos of incredibly weird & destructive feminist rallies in which I would never participate and am appalled at what all is said. My "advice" was completely unhelpful and patronizing. Sorry about that. And I see what you're saying about confusing attraction with what you want in a partner you already have. I still stand by the idea that there are plenty of us out there looking for nice or beta guys. Those are the guys who seem to end up with women in the long run when we've passed our "bad guy" phase. And I get what you're saying about "loving sluts" but not wanting to wife 'em. It seems similar to being attracted to bad g…

This will sound irritating and cutesy and unhelpful in the extreme but I think there are enough people out there to find someone you click with. I have considered calling myself by another term or not using one at all, especially after another comment on this thread that I took to heart about solipsism. To be honest, I've held onto the term feminism because I felt for a long time that it best captured my own interests. Since I'm female, I'm more interested in issues pertaining to my gender even though I'm also concerned with issues affecting men. I don't think we've reached social and political equality between the genders in either dire…

I agree. And it's pointless to chase after women (or men) who are sending mixed signals like that. Even if they eventually fall for Z they'll probably end up with another Y.

Wealth pays a huge part in mate selection. I remember learning in a class a while back that we seem to overall be attracted to people who look similar to us and our relatives. It seems like there are a lot of factors at play in who people are attracted to and who they pursue.

Perhaps you could say the same about feminist woman desiring a dominant man then. That she's behaving "exactly according to [her] honest beliefs" and like she's been told she should? I agree the entire nice guy/bad guy dynamic and message are ridiculous. But somehow in the midst of all the contradictory messages there seem to be plenty of people finding each other and having good relationships.

No I think you're right. It must be partly instinctive to be attracted to the most "exciting" partner even if that's the guy who's going to cheat or not be able to hold a job down or already has 16 kids. It might partly be a phase though - late teens and early to mid-twenties. Right around that timeframe people seem to get more serious about having a real relationship with a guy who respects them. Of course there are plenty of people, male and female who seem to continue to chase "the wrong" par…

I think I get it. Not wanting your partner to have a preference as to whether you worked or didn't but having your own preference about what they do? Complete double standard, totally agree. The girls who say they want nice guys and chase after the rough sort are full of all kinds of contradicting messages and would make terrible partners (IMO). Women are also somehow getting the message that the "bad" guys are the most exciting, dangerous, thrilling & sexy and it seems like that's part of the p…

Well let me be clear that I think every feminist has a different definition of the term and, more relevant to your question, different goals and priorities. I define myself as a feminist strictly based on the definition: "The advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men." Personally I define my idea of feminism as a powerful belief that men and women are equally valuable and neither is more important than the other. I'll be honest that your first p…

Between you and me there are plenty of feminists who have demeaning and polarizing views towards men. That's not my style and please know that's not the style of many feminists out there. I see feminism as a continuum. Perhaps the hardcore gals are way over on the right, alienating themselves from the rest of us and fomenting discord and I'd put myself in the middle. Genuinely curious here. Were you in a relationship with a really mean, nasty woman? I'm trying to understand where the hostility towards women is coming from. I guess you can't have it both ways - insulting women and still wanting (eventually?) to be in a relationship with one?
