Owned *Workouts: This is going very well. I am lifting 4 times per week and have not missed one workout since the beginning of April. Mornings consist of getting up at 5 am and a single black coffee. Then the elliptical for 20 minutes 6 days per week. I allow myself one day per week to sleep in. The goal is to be extremely lean by July 1st. *Self Improvement I track my reading and I average 45 minutes per day on various non-fiction material. This combined with audio recordings for my commute. I …

Logically explaining why it needs to be done, asking, reminding, begging, complaining, I did it all to get stuff done. It never worked. Doing it myself consistently and NOT showing frustration/disdain works like a charm. Now like magic, I find myself more relaxed and more attracted to her. One of my sources of frustration that led me to despise her is being alleviated. Never thought it would happen.

I am definitely weak on the drinking. Strange thing is when I used to work in bars, I rarely drank. Since kids/marriage I am into the bottle. I believe it is two reasons. Boredom and stress. Persaeus, pucker up! This is going to happen, and be supported with pics if requested. Yes, wife has noticed big time. I cant recall the difference for initiating vs leading. I will dig it up and take a re-read. I will fix this.

OYS virgin here. I keep a spreadsheet journal. I found RP a few months back, posted some 'shite' on the boards and got my ass reading the books. MMSLP - done NMMNG - done Rational Male - done Pook - 50% done WISNIFG - 60% done I record categories in a spreadsheet, and they are below (summarize). I am open to other suggestions to keep myself on track: Drinking - I was getting VERY complacent and self medicating with booze after work. This week I have had 9 drinks, including work events. I usually…

Thanks Big Daddy. I am starting to realize I have to put on my "management" hat from work.

5'11, and I think 14% is pretty close. I am not new to lifting. I have a foundation built from my 20s, and some special 'supplementation' in my late 20s. I am in my mid 40s now. Regardless, my physique standard is much higher compared to my current status. I have been complacent compared to my prior self. Period. Shoulder surgery etc is not enough to excuse my current look. Agreed.

screehhater - Not sure if you are talking to me, but if you are you are talking out your ass on the children's part. I am very much involved with MY kids. One reason the wife needs to step up and contribute more is to ensure I have time for work/kids/etc. I have failed in keeping my standard for my physique, yes. However I assure you that I would easily be in the top percentile when compared to others 30+. But compared to what I looked like, you are correct. Love your easy dread activity idea. A…

Great insights. I think, in these situations, treating her like my subordinates at work will be an excellent method. If I take this approach it will help me maintain my frame. Ford_contour: I am told I am good looking, and look much younger than my age. I used to be very interesting. Yes, "used to be": - traveled world - countless activities in the mountains, including ice climbing etc - was a bit of a "bad boy" when I first met her. I was 50% owner in a nightclub (BTW never do 50% in anything!)…

Not sure why this matters but... I am just over 200. BF% around 14%. My bench has declined greatly after shoulder surgery 3 years ago. It is around 250. In the past it was much higher, but that is irrelevant.

Your first line "Respond like a father, not a child. Don't ask, tell." is eye opening. I always say "Can you do me a favour?" to get her to help out. Wow, typing that makes me look like an ass. So, she does something for the house and I should be grateful? I need to rid my self of that approach.

Whinemoreplease, absolutely correct. My assumption is that she would do it because it needs to be done. I am relying that she has an ingrained sense of responsibility and that she would act act such. I do respect her, and it is extremely disappointing to realize that she is not responsible. My assumption is flawed, and I need to digest that as fact. She cant be relied upon.

I am trying to maintain frame. I had my phone in my hand and was going to call her and "whine". Instead I thought I would post and get some advice. I agree I think I do value her more than she values me. We have been married for 11 years and it gets worse every year. How would you suggest I punish her? I am working hard on dread. In the last couple of months I have: Got back on my diet. I have been lifting for 20 years and have a very decent build. However as I age (mid 40s) it is harder to main…

How do I hold her accountable? Something like the below happens often: Me - "Wife can you please call the bank and get a mortgage statement sent out?" Her- "Sure" It never happens. Then I ask if she did it, after waiting a few weeks for the mail to arrive, and I am told "I forgot/I was too busy" etc. This truly pisses me off since she obviously has tons of time and manages to get on social media to "like" posts. However getting something done for me seems to be a lost priority. I see two things.…
