While this is women being martyrs it is still about fathers. It's about fathers who aren't there. Unfortunately very frequently by the father's choice.

Okay fair enough.

What the hell does this have to do with OP? Are you truly outraged about OP's photo because of all the inadvertent swaps going on at hospitals?
/r/MensRights08/11/14 04:32 PM

I've acknowledged several times that the issue is after establishing paternity, and that OPs post doesn't consider this. Okay. So why are you disagreeing with me. I'm responding to OP's post. When you get outraged over something like OP's post it makes your other, legitimate, arguments seem petty.

Since unmarried fathers do not have parenting rights,... That's not even a little bit true. Individual unmarried fathers may have lost their parenting rights or never had them given to them but the rule isn't unmarried fathers have no parenting rights.

We're talking about before establishing paternity. The statement in OP says nothing about paternity being established. Why are you assuming paternity has been established?

I know. And if someone has another person's baby it's a criminal act not a family law crime. That's the only scenario where you would need a video recording of a child between when it popped out and the dispute. If the baby was switched at any point they've kidnapped the kid.
/r/MensRights08/11/14 04:49 AM

And what is the alternative? How would you deal with unmarried parents? You need a default for times when parental responsibility hasn't been legally decided. So what would you do?
/r/MensRights07/11/14 10:11 PM

According to who? Who is taking this rule and using it to show women having parental rights is ideal? This really just seems like an overreaction that makes the whole men's rights thing seem ridiculous. How do we fight for real issues when people are getting "outraged" over a rule like this?
/r/MensRights07/11/14 10:09 PM

I think that would fall under kidnapping if a woman claimed another woman's child as their own. Anyway the law is still dealing with the legal entity that emerged from her womb. If they switched babies that's a whole different issue.
/r/MensRights07/11/14 10:07 PM

That's my question. Is this talking about after paternity is established or before? It seems to be talking about before since it's talking about automatic parental responsibility. And if that's the case doesn't seem "outrage"-worthy at all.
/r/MensRights07/11/14 08:47 PM

What are the ramifications that are huge? We know the woman is the mom. There's no doubt about that. Why is it wrong to give her the default parental responsibility? It isn't saying she is given preference only that she is the default. If you were to write the law how would you handle unmarried parents? A man and a woman are not married and in hospital. The woman gave birth to the baby yesterday. They both want to take the baby home and you have to decide who gets it. You know the mother is the …
/r/MensRights07/11/14 08:16 PM

I understand that but until paternity is established doesn't it make sense for the courts to automatically assign parental responsibility to the mother? I'm not sure what the "outrage" is here.
/r/MensRights07/11/14 07:45 PM
2

Isn't this just a case of it being easy to see that the child is the mother's (it came out of her vajayjay) while the father needs a DNA match to verify it is their's? It isn't that men don't get automatic responsibility when it's proven they are the father but that you can't just assume a man is the father. Or is this after DNA testing has been done or both parties agree that the man is the father?

Is there any chance this is an attempt to reduce overcrowding in bathrooms for women and the reason they don't make the women only bathroom into unisex is because there is a requirement for urinals in men's rooms? Seems like this could be one of those regulatory issues where a rule not intended for this situation causes a problem.

Feel like people aren't really answering your question. Abit off-topic, but why do people give video games and people behind them so much shit? What other activity do people actively "kill" other people? What other activity is as violent as video games? TV and movies are passive entertainment and even then you have to get some pretty rough TV/movies before you get to stuff like Gears of War or GTA. People also spend far more time on video games than they do other forms of entertainment. How long…

And that's why divorce is so common these days. Marriage is about two people giving themselves to the other. Divorce is about two people putting themselves over the other.

Any website that codes it so you can't use your back arrow is a piece of crap site. I can't imagine enjoying any of that site whether I'm pre-banned or post-banned.

A lot of schools in the northwest do. My high school has kids with classes in two other schools as well as a large number of kids doing running start which allows them to take classes at the local college. So a closed campus would be hard to enforce.

No he wouldn't. He isn't giving any information about the woman. If you truly think that then I don't think you understand how babies are made. Telling who the father is, is definitely giving information about the woman.

But he would be violating the privacy of the woman. And even sometimes the man if he is pretty sure it's not his but would rather not know for sure.

How is this a men's rights issue? If the ages were reversed wouldn't the law then apply to the girl? Yes, unlikely the girl would have been charged but that isn't what this thread seems to be about. Will admit as a father of a 15 year old girl I have no problems with this law. 17 year old boys are overly influential on 15 year old girls.

I have to admit that I don't see this action as all that wrong. You did speak of feminists as if you did not belong to that group. How can you claim to be a feminist and then at the same time speak of them as if you are not part of the group? I find SRS to be despicable but in this case while I don't agree with their rules since that is a rule it seems like a reasonable response. Especially considering she was going to give you a warning and then you seem to have attempted to portray yourself as…

True, but it's Yahoo Canada so it's an American site for Canadians. Just seems weird that Canadians would spend much time discussing the legal merits of Roe v Wade.

That is absolutely correct. But the graphs you posted do not do that analysis.

I was thinking the same thing. Those graphs could also be used to show why women should be paid more. They are more careful get killed less frequently and job related deaths are very expensive. I get, and agree in part, the point the graph is trying to make but it's a matter of correlation does not equal causation.

Imagine if the story was about a black woman and she wasn't allowed to help collect money (because blacks have a higher rate of accusation of theft). I can't imagine a church doing that yet from what I hear it's pretty common for men to be treated like pedophiles even in official policy.

I have a good friend who was raped because of how they dressed/acted one night. They didn't deserve it in any way but reality is reality. If she had acted differently that night she would not have been raped. Maybe it's not politically correct but if encouraging women to dress/behave less slutty results in fewer rapes than how can you be against that?

Do you also always leave your car or bike unlocked when at the mall? Of course not (unless you're an idiot). Taking precautions is an unfortunate necessity in society to protect yourself.

The later digital alteration was putting the kids' faces on a video as if they were listening to the performance.

Well, then I guess we owe feminism a thank you for protecting children from being in a sexually explicit video without their parent's consent.
/r/MensRights18/02/11 06:49 AM

The problem is he used kids without their (parent's) consent. If he'd used actors I don't think there would have been a problem.

I don't think everyone here is in a bad relationship. Personally, I've been in a wonderful relationship for 20 years with a woman who has been kind and wonderful to me for those years. But just because it isn't happening to me doesn't mean I don't care about problems that are happening to others. In American society we have worked hard to get rid of the inequalities towards women but in the meantime we have not done much to get rid of the inequalities towards men.

Yeah, I once thought as Mosati. But it only takes one paranoid mom. My wake up call was when I was teaching a Sunday School class with my wife and someone complained because they thought I was teaching by myself. I got called into the office to explain why I was teaching by myself (which I wasn't). Something women do all the time at the church.

Unfortunately, it's okay in American culture to automatically assume a male is a pedophile. It's considered wrong to treat a black man as a larger threat to be a thief but it's okay to treat a man as a larger threat to being a pedophile. If you were a black man and someone said they felt uncomfortable because you were looking at their purse they'd be thrown out as a crackpot. But a man looking at a kid is a complaint some people take seriously. It's ridiculous.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
