The only part about his story I still think is unreasonable is that he forced her to fight to end the alimony. That’s a dick move. He should have just taken the W and let her stop paying the alimony.

Wasn’t this the case where the girl didn’t actually accuse anyone in particular? Just claim she was raped by some black guys. But didn’t actually point to anyone specifically. Nobody was arrested or accused of rape. Given those facts, I’m fairly pleased with this outcome. That punishment definitely isn’t a pussy pass. Probation sucks. Yes, you're right. I'd be more likely to agree with the verdict if she wasn't a 17 year old with no prior history. But I really don't think accomplices should get the same punishment as a murderer either.

One person intentionally shot another person in an attempt to kill them, and served 6 years. The other person drove a getaway car for a murderer who was allegedly (and probably) manipulating and threatening her, and now will be in prison for 30 years. How do you not see the problem here? Why would you even use Amy Fisher as a comparison, it does nothing to bolster your opinion.

Well she didn't really kill anyone. She fled the scene while the man who had just shot and murdered a cop pointed a gun at her forcing her to drive. She certainly isn't innocent, but murderer is a stretch. But the point is, there was no pussypass denied in this situation.

Yes I am aware that there many shitbag cops. The nature of law enforcement often attracts the type of people who absolutely shouldn't be cops. I get that. But that does not mean that even a majority of officers are bad at what they do. Most cops do a fine job upholding the law responsibly and ethically. I came here expecting to hear more of this logic. I can't believe so many people think this girl deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison. Clearly she's not innocent, but a murder charge? The earliest she can be freed is when she's 47. considering her age and how she was involved in this incident, I think that is an absurdly harsh punishment.

Well income is income and expenses are expenses. Alimony/child support is technically just another expense. You don't deduct taxes from your total income... to calculate your income. I'm not saying it's fair, but I don't think we should redefine income over it...
