Nat-Geo just answered the OP's question! Men evolved the ability to singularly focus due to their job as hunting. More ideas to help give you some new interest in life... Fishing -- just spend 1 hour studying but go to a lake or a beach as a total amateur and don't be afraid "that it feels like you're just wasting time" because it can itself serve the purpose (and provide the benefits) of egoless meditation. Do what I have done -- offer a lump sum (borrow money from bank if you have to) and pre-pay 36 months at a time. My ex settled for $3500 but she would have gotten $10,000 if she waited those 3 years and got $300/month.
