Why was he unhappy about his career? One of the things about job happiness is people expect instant gratification, when in reality a career takes time to be fulfilling. Depending how early into it he was, encouraging him to quit may have been a mistake, and now that he can’t see himself providing for you is really fucking him up, especially if he’s living off of your success. I know that sort of situation would make ME feel hopeless..
