Soooo true. Dentist - so many of my colleagues (male and female) do actively prepare for marathons and they regularly hike too. There’s also a ‘mid range’ hobby tier of dancing, pottery, and general fitness (eg gym, badminton, tennis). And brunch/food. Lots of it. The unhealthier medical/dental professionals are the ones who work 24/7 and the only times you will see them outside of work is in the time after networking events. They tend to be incredible high achieving, but at a big cost. It does …

This also happened during my grandparents’ and parents’ time, and unfortunately just before they managed to escape as well. Felt highly emotional reading this but thank you for sharing what is a tragic and horrific yet crucial part of history to remember. There’s always one narrative presented on each side in war and very rarely are the criminal offences pertaining to sexual violence portrayed. Absolutely heartbreaking but again, poignant.

I have several, the progression of which I think has shown amazing growth on my part. It more or less went: LTR (2.5 years) ex came back via drunk texts, drunk calls, harassed my friends, did not stop talking about me for years - had a lengthy conversation about the breakup and then ended it there Fboy ex came back via drunk texts, tried to be friends (obviously didn’t work), faux “I’ve changed…but not enough to make it work” - had a lengthy conversation about me not wanting to keep him in my li…

Thank you for telling this story. I can’t imagine what you had to go through to come to terms with everything that happened but I’m so happy for you and so proud of your strength.

I’m a graduating dental student and one LVM person I was seeing used to put up a fuss about paying for things because I would “make it back later anyway” once I start work next year. Which, yes, but there’s still a massive amount of loans, registration and insurance costs not to mention prioritising myself and family first. A person’s response to your profession may be based on stereotypes, but a HV person will see you for who you are rather than what your job is associated with or what your pot…

I was assigned next to an African-Australian boy who was my good friend and we regarded each other with mutual friendship and as much respect as you can comprehend at age 10 (I’m Viet-Australian and the racism was real in school). My racist teacher then assigned me to him again after the second rotation, having forgotten that I already had to put up with his loud personality (again, good friend but buddy there’s a time and place) and then proceeded to gaslight me in front of the entire class. No…

They certainly give it away super quickly. They’ll tend to ask race-geared questions or come in hot with assumptions about your ethnicity based on stereotypes. For example (I’m SE Asian): “You don’t look ___.” And proceed to associate your ethnic appearance with their horniness What ethnicities of men have you dated Take on a white saviour role and behave condescendingly towards YOUR ethnicity when they ‘know’ all the #facts Their dating profiles tend to overdo it with references to (e.g.) a tri…

I love that. Normally at the stage where I’m just over him, I’m unresponsive and don’t bother engaging in antics that waste my time. There are days however that I just want to get a laugh out of it for me and send that before I block and delete - it is for me, not him.

Absolutely! Always block and delete, and if you want a little fun as well here’s a way to do it x

Story behind this: a while ago I was talking to my mates about how sick I was of always having to tip toe around guys when saying bye 👋 after they showed me their red flags. And then they made me this gem - Papyrus font if you want to add your name to it! Every time I’ve used this scrotes have reacted hilariously (“???”, “wot?”) in the moments before I blocked and deleted. Can guarantee high amusement. Enjoy ✨ Edit: to clarify, always block and delete and you never owe anyone LV a response. At t…

One of my favourite quotes from Brooklyn 99 is when Gina Linetti says ‘The Audacity’ re guys cold approaching girls - she is damn right.

Agreed! So much! It is so exhausting and taxing on you to have to always be aware of someone else’s triggers. One day you end up realising you’ve lost your opinions and expression because you keep suppressing it for someone who isn’t even dealing with their own issues. Embrace yourself.

Yeah no, Asian men are a whole new ballpark of insecurity and fetishization. Always vet.
